John is a brilliant composer and instrumentalist. I worked with him extensively while studying at CalArts. His musicianship and knowledge of music theory is in depth, and he is easily able to pass this information on to students. I highly recommend him as a teacher to any level of musician.

More advanced students will study the standard repertoire and learn to improvise in a variety of styles.

About Matthew

I fell in love with all of immediately, and I started telling everyone around me that I was going to be a musician when I was still in middle school. After graduating high school from the San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts, I attended the Cleveland Institute of Music for 6 years where I earned a bachelor's and master's degree in composition. I've performed as a soloist and with a variety of groups all over the country, and my music has been featured during my fellowships with the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra and the Canton Symphony Orchestra. I've been teaching various disciplines since I was 16, and I've developed a real ...
