About Jacob

If you want to learn piano, voice or guitar basics, this is a great place to start! I am available to teach at a student home and I can teach at any age or level. I like to have fun while encouraging a student to work and study hard to gain a strong foundation in music. I have my B.A. in music and I have studied at the graduate level. I am a professional singer and stage performer, I play piano and sing at churches and weddings, and I also have a rock band! Whatever your interest in music, whether you just want to learn a couple of songs on the guitar or you would like to become a studied an
d versatile musician, I can help you achieve your goals.

*** Lesson Details ***
Students can expect to learn the basics of music technique on their instrument. I encourage students to work hard and I advise regular practice with the help of parents to accomplish goals. Along with weekly assignments, I like students to choose a song they want to play or sing because music is also about having fun while you're learning!

*** Studio Equipment ***
LivingRoom: grand piano, chairs, music stand (can supply guitar and bass guitar amp if necessary)

*** Travel Equipment ***
I can provide some music, tuners and cords. I expect students to provide their own instruments and additional materials and music.

*** Specialties ***
I am classically trained and incorporate this training in all aspects of my teaching. I am also familiar with different styles of jazz, rock, pop and world music.

My teenager has had lessons with Jacob for 3 years, first guitar, then piano. He has a great personality and is a very encouraging teacher. She never once wanted to quit and never complained about going to the lessons, even with an otherwise very busy schedule, which is a testament to him and his teaching. He is a very dedicated and talented musician, and was always willing to work with whatever songs she wanted to learn. I would highly recommend him for any age kid or adult.
