Dee F.

Scottsdale, AZ

I was an orchestra director for 7 years and taught cello students privately. Specializing in teaching theory, scale techniques.

About Dee

*** Travel Equipment *** Books. Students must have their own instrument (keyboards are acceptable for taking piano lessons). I always council students on brand, quality of instrument they are purchasing before they buy it. *** Specialties *** I have been a public school music educator for over 20 years, and have taught band, orchestra, and choir which enables me to teach many instruments and voice. I also have been a language and reading tutor for over 6 years and have worked with students with special needs for over 10 years. I studied classical guitar with master guitarist, Christopher Parkening, at Montana State University where I graduated with a B.M.E. I also did graduate work at MSU in composition. I teach Suzuki piano and violin. I am an accomplished composer/songwriter

Dee is a wonderful instructor. She has extensive experience both in the musical field and with teaching. She sets forth a structured easy-to-follow program for practice. She is very personable, inspiring, and gives honest and helpful feedback. I would definitely enjoy having Dee as a teacher again.

Victor Q.

Phoenix, AZ

About Victor

I believe that any student will practice more if he or she likes the music they are playing. Periodically I will ask a student to give me a name of a piece of music that they would like to learn how to play. I notate it for them, often simplifying the rhythm and chords in Finale NotePad and give it to them free of charge. I teach students how to play music on their given instrument. Not just how to play the instrument but working on technique, finger dexterity, expert note reading ability and total musicianship. How to play a piece of music that will move the audience emotionally. I stress vocabulary and music history and theory as part of being a well-trained musician.

Brianna L.

Tempe, AZ

I played the cello throughout high school and college. I use the same principles to teach the cello that I do the violin. We focus on correct technique and characteristic sound while developing musicality and a well rounded music education.

About Brianna

I am a recent graduate from the University of Idaho. I earned my degree in Instrumental Music Education and have been teaching privately for 7 years. My main instrument is violin, but I took to other instruments very fast and am very qualified to teach viola, cello, clarinet and saxophone. Before moving to Arizona, I taught many violin students through my own private studio and through the University of Idaho Preparatory Division. My students ranged from ages 3 to 50. I currently teach private instrumental lessons to grades 2-8 at a private school and work at an after school program at a charter school. The majority of my experience is with students age 3 through 8th grade.

I was awarded many scholarships for cello and chamber music study.

About Charlotte

My interest in teaching developed from elementary school. My mother was an influence as a private music teacher. i studied music education through my college years; my undergraduate studies were in California at the University of Redlands. I also included a minor study of the cello which later became my major study for the Master of Music degree at Yale University and the Doctor of Music degree at the University of Arizona. My doctoral minor was in music education and also included extensive courses in Spanish. I lived and worked in Mexico with a symphony orchestra for three years. I taught string classes throughout my career. After retirement I taught Spanish to elementary students. I have great patience with students and take great pride in watching them grow in their chosen ...
