BoPo Fitness Classes: 

I am passionate about teaching BoPo (Body Positive) Fitness. I've always loved dancing-in high school and college I took hip hop classes and after college I became a licensed Zumba instructor. The structure of my dance fitness classes are similar to Zumba, but the music is mostly American Top 40 music. Most of the moves I show are low impact, but there are a couple challenge moves to get your blood pumping. 

In my 30 min dance workout, there are usually about 6 songs, including a warm up and pre-cool down, short water breaks between every song, and we end with an extended cool down where we stretch for 6-7 min with some positive affirmations. 

Students are encouraged to modify as needed. You could even exercise sitting down and just focus on the arm movements. Or, if you want to go all out, you could add jumps. The most important thing is to have fun while engaging in joyful movement. 

These fitness classes are great for your mind, body, and soul. When you exercise, you are improving your physical as well as your mental health.

Piano Lessons: 

Music is a wonderful creative outlet, and I hope to benefit my students by teaching them how to play piano pieces that they are interested in.  I am patient, meticulous, and dedicated teacher, and I'm so excited about helping aspiring pianists to cultivate a deep appreciation for music. I truly believe that students of all ages can master the piano!

I'm a classically trained musician, and I've been passionate about playing the piano since I was seven. Music brings me so much joy, and I'm extremely enthusiastic about sharing my knowledge with students to enable them to reach their potential, and unlock the artistry within them.  Music is an essential part of my life because, as Plato once said, it gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, and flight to the imagination.

I received my Bachelor of Arts from Scripps College in California, where I studied piano under the direction of Dr. Hao Huang. In high school, I won the Chopin award in Joanna Hodges Piano Studio, and in college I performed at a recital, alongside professors, to commemorate Chopin's 200th birthday.  I've had a lot of opportunities to perform, including playing at Nordstrom for several years, so I know just how to help my students prepare for performances.

With me, learning is exciting!  I strive to make every lesson inspiring, educational, and fun. I can teach you to read music, improve your technical accuracy, show you techniques to help you memorize pieces, and guide your artistic interpretation.  Playing the piano can be so rewarding, and my focus, as a teacher, is to make sure my students enjoy music to the fullest.  While my background is in classical music, I'm thrilled to teach piano music of all styles. I tailor my lesson plans to my students' needs and goals; I'm happy to assist you with your growth as a musician. I will work alongside you to help you succeed, and together, we can take a journey to explore your talent!

Contagiously passionate

Kelly was creative enough to hold the attention of a wiggly eight-year-old. Her passion for and knowledge of music was contagious and brilliant. Kelly's very honest in her feedback, but presents it constructively with humor and kindness. She kept my daughter actively engaged and was always encouraging.

Best piano teacher

Kelly is passionate about teaching. She goes above and beyond her teaching to help kids to learn.  She is patient and kind and of course my girls love her!  She is the best and we feel lucky to have her.

Music only 25 min workout using 4 different types of yoga and pilates balls on a yoga mat. Easy, plus-size friendly.
