Milton J.

Corona, CA

About Milton

Hey there, everyone!

My name is Milton Carl Jackson II and I teach vocal, guitar, piano, and musical theatre lessons in the Inland Empire area.

I help those young, middle-aged, and not-as-young tap into their own soul through music so that they may help others find theirs as well. I believe that in order to entertain others with your voice or your instrument, one must first be able to entertain oneself - all the while having fun doing it! As a recent graduate of the University of California, Davis with a double major in Music History & Ethnomusicology and African-American & African Stud
ies; a former co-host of the popular hip-hop radio show ATF Radio: All Things Fresh on KDVS 90.3 FM; a former Music Director of The Afterglow of UC Davis; and a recently graduate of the University of Redlands with a Master's in Music Education, I have come in contact and learned from a vast amount of different musicians and professionals. A classically-trained bass-baritone with roots in R&B, Soul, Rock, Pop, and Jazz, I have aspirations to help each and every student realize their full musical potential.

If you're looking for a teacher who will motivate and inspire you not only to learn your instrument of choice, but also how to perform it (whether on the big stage or in your living room for the family) and record it as well, I'm the perfect teacher for you. Learning to sing, play, and act beautifully doesn't have to be difficult -- we'll work on finding your voice or your style, all while having fun along the way!

I teach in-studio, in-home, and online lessons, so we can be flexible with the lesson type and schedule!

This is a perfect chance for you or your child who can't stop singing around the house or has dreams of shredding on the guitar or twinkling on the ivories to learn the fundamentals of music, start something new that keeps them or you focused, and have fun while doing it!

Feel free to contact me at show contact info for any questions and check out my student reviews and qualifications.

I look forward to meeting you and accompanying you or your child on your musical journey!!

Art is the absolute BEST!

Art is a wonderful teacher!! He is enthusiastic, reliable, knowledgeable and very personable. I feel extremely fortunate to have found Art to teach my 4 year old daughter.

My daughter has been eager to start learning the piano. I needed to find someone that is able to teach at her young level and to be able to connect with her shy personality. Amazingly, Art is able to make her laugh, smile, learn and have fun all at the same time!

My daughter has fun learning and we often find her practicing on her own at the piano. Actually, she considers it playtime at the piano! She is learning simple songs after just a few lessons. She is very proud of her ability to play and is always eager to see Art so that she can learn more.

I HIGHLY recommend Art as a piano teacher. It is obvious that he loves music, this is evident in his weekly teachings. As a parent, I couldn't be happier!!! Art is setting a firm foundation for our daughter's love for music.

Vocal Training · In studio
I've found Bri right here at TakeLessons back in January and my son and daughter have been taking vocal lessons with her since. To date, Bri has been nothing but incredibly amazing.

My children love Bri and always look forward to seeing her every week. She is passionate, she is relatable, and she is able to connect with them in a way their previous teacher never could. Most importantly, Bri not only knows her craft, but she teaches it well.

Besides the various methods, breathing techniques, and vocal exercises, she'd break down a song, help them understand the story behind the lyrics and teach them how to sing with appropriate compassion, affection, and emotion. Moreover, Bri recognizes their individual voice abilities/limitations, and help manipulate their voices so they sing to the best of their capabilities yet still sound great.

Even though we've been only with Bri for a short period of time, but I've already seen my children making tremendous progress. In fact, thanks to Bri, my son had success at an audition that he came up short many times.

We're so blessed that we've found Bri. She is a phenomenal teacher and I recommend Bri whole heartily without any reservations.

Brianne has really helped my daughter improve, and has increased her self confidence. She is able to help her with any new music she receives at school. She is also flexible when unexpected schedule changes occur. I would highly recommend her to anyone who is looking for a flute instructor.

When our daughter started lessons with Brianne, she had been playing for a couple of years. She had a great ability to play but we felt she needed to be challenged. Brianne gave our daughter that challenge combined with the confidence she needed to actually start enjoying practice time! Her arrangements for Izzy make it so that Izzy is looking forward to practice something she's always wanted to play.

She is very patient and our daughter really loves her and piano. Izzy is always excited about piano lessons now. She says that they go by so fast, that's a great sign of a good teacher.

Thank you Brianne for sharing your amazing talent with my family.

Ben S.

Fullerton, CA

About Ben

I graduated from California State University, Fullerton (CSUF) with a B.A. in Public Administration (what does that have to do with the Flamenco guitar?); prior to that degree, I received an A.A. in Political Science (again, what does that have to do with Flamenco guitar?). Currently I am in the process of completing my M.P.A. at CSUF (again…?). The answer to the aforementioned question is that, I enjoy politics and government work—it’s my profession. Nonetheless, I enjoy Flamenco most of all, and I want you to enjoy it too! ¡Vamonos!

The guitar is a wonderful ins
trument, which I began playing at the age of six. I began my studies with the classical guitar for the first 15 years of playing; and for these past 15 years I have studied the flamenco guitar—playing various concerts, events, and giving professional instruction.

My experience as a guitarist in Southern California has led me to explore different genres of music, playing for various musical groups ranging from surf rock, concert band, and jazz. As a co-founding member of the band, Ballistico, we opened up for acts such as Dick Dale and the Del Tones, the Grandmothers of Invention (featuring members of Frank Zappa’s original band, “Mothers of Invention”), Avenged Sevenfold, and many others.

Having received first hand instruction from the some of the most sough-after professional Flamenco guitarists living and working in Spain (and touring internationally), I offer each of my students an unrivaled degree of authenticity in technique, tone, and style.

Each lesson includes tablature and audio recordings of the material that we will have gone over together. It is completely normal that only a day or two after a lesson—or even a few hours afterwards—the mind can (and will) quickly forget the material. Don’t worry! I’ve got you covered. By having the accompanying written and audio material with you after each lesson, you will be well-prepared for a successful next lesson!

Mr. Stubbs is an excellent musician and teacher. He has a wide range of musical ability from electric blues to classical guitar, and especially flamenco guitar. His approach of flamenco and his performance is masterful.
One would think that the discipline required to attain Ben''s level of ability would cause a person to get "stuffy" and dry . But a keen sense of humor, a quick wit and humility make time spent with Ben a pleasuraable learning experience.
