"During my soptmore year in high school, I decided I wanted to be an actor. So I took an acting class under Othell and after spending Three years of under
his guidance, I started to realize a major consistent growth. I had a far better understanding of acting techniques, and phonetics which is the study and classification of speech sounds. While training under Mr. Miller at the Plainfield Academy for the Arts and Advanced Studies, he gradually guided me through the process of character development, speech, and script analysis. Othell is not only a great instructor, but he is also a great mentor. When I graduated high school I was only accepted into one college drama program which was not one of my top choices. Othell encouraged me to find some new audition materials and come back to see him so we can work on the scripts. Almost every day we worked on the audition pieces, and he helped me find a genuine connection to my characters. When the hard work was done I performed my audition pieces and I got accepted into my number two school of choice; Pace University BFA Acting. Speaking from experience I admit that Othell miller is a very wise as well as knowledgeable instructor. Whether you spend thirty minutes or an hour with him, I guarantee you will leave with some food of knowledge. I personally always consult with Othell miller when I’m in need of guidance."

"Wes's lessons have taken my acting to the next level.
Lessons were very convenient over Skype, since I live many states away.
Although I have been
acting for years, I really don't think I had studied under someone who has understood the craft as well as Wes. He has proven to be a compassionate, patient, and skilled instructor. With his help, I was able to identify some specific problem areas, and the one-on-one sessions provided me with the coaching I needed to overcome these issues.
Now I am finding myself walking into auditions with not only the skills needed to land the roles I want, but the confidence.
I can't recommend Wes enough. Excellent coach and teacher!
Thanks Wes! See you soon!"

"Ms. Jefferson was an outstanding instructor for my 5 year old son. He attended in the evening at her home and she knew exactly how to got him engaged aft
er a long day of school. After a few session I realized that my son needed to mature a little in order to get all that he could out of the program so we stopped. We will definitely be coming back again soon."

"I've been rapping for 15yrs...and when I met Prophet, God took my game to a whole new level., When it comes to stage performance, there is so much more to
think about than just what am I going to where, and what songs will I peform. Prophet has helped me track my breathing and make sure I'm not too winded off stage when I'm finished with my set, he's helped me understand how to hold a microphone properly and consider how something sounds to the audience not just to me. He's also taught me about utilizing the monitors and speakers the house provides to my benefit and paying attention to the sound the stage gives off. These things, are rarely considered by performers and rappers, but have proven vital to how I perform onstage. Thus giving me the ability to minister properly off stage as well."
I started singing professionally at the age of fourteen. I have had leading roles in semi-professional theatre productions since I was seventeen. I have also been assistant director, musical director, choreographer, costumer and writer for many productions from West Side Story to My Fair Lady to Camelot. In the theatre I have worked with and trained children and adults of all ages. I have also conducted summer camps that were theatre workshops for children. I was a school teacher at a Charter school for eight years and I taught music and drama to children from Kindergarten to 12th grade.
I have been giving voice lessons for more than twenty years. I tailor my programs based on the needs of my students. I am passionate about music and I love being able to share that with other individuals who are passionate about music. I have worked with children and adults who told me "I cannot sing" and have shown them that, once you understand how your voice works, you can do things you never dreamed you could do. I will work hard to help anyone who has the love and determination to sing to improve and become a better singer.
One of my students was accepted to AMDA in New York and several of my students have won various competitions.
*** Lesson Details *** The voice is an instrument and, like any instrument, you have to know all of its parts and how it works in order to get the most out of it. I teach my students how to properly use their voice without damaging their vocal chords. I teach vocal techniques and exercises to help my students become a better singer. My students will learn how to use their diaphragm; how to use dynamics; how to project; how to build up their lung capacity; how to sing in a clear and articulate manner; how to sing various different types of music; how to control their voice; and how to develop their natural ear for music as well as showmanship. My style and technique has been developed over many years of practical experience and learning from instructors and entertainers who work in the entertainment industry. My method of teaching is entirely my own and I have had a lot of success with it. I expect my students to work hard and be dedicated but I try to make the lessons not just instructional but fun.
*** Studio Equipment *** Home-lessons taught in a designated music room, has an electric weighted keyboard and a karaoke machine.
*** Specialties *** I teach my students breathing techniques; how to use the diaphragm and relax the vocal chords; how to project; how to properly enunciate; how to perform a song instead of just singing it; showmanship; how to select the music that is right for them. The voice is an instrument and, like any instrument, you have to fully understand it and its different parts in order to get the most out of it.
In regards to the various hand-crafting arts that I teach. I have been hand-crafting for more than forty years. I first discovered my love for creating things when I was only six years old, which is when I first began to learn embroidery. That just made me want to learn even more and I am always looking for some new and interesting art to learn and master. I have been a costumer for more than thirty years, creating costumes for community theatre and making period costumes for events such as the Renaissance Faire and Civil and Revolutionary War Re-enactments.
One of my new passions is Recycled Crafts. Taking items that you might throw away and turning them into something useful. For example, I had a pile of sheets that we didn't use any longer. Instead of throwing them away, I made them into rag rugs. Another of my favorite recycle crafts is taking the plastic bags that you get your groceries in and making them into re-usable totes that are washable.
Needle tatting is a form of lace making. Taking string and creating some beautiful lace that allows you to add old world charm to a garment or project. One of the things that I like about this hand-craft is being able to easily take it with me (to doctor's appointments for example) so that I can have something to do while I wait.
As you can probably tell, these are things that I am passionate about and I love teaching them to anyone who wants to learn.

Tina is amazing. So skilled, knowledgeable and patient. My daughter was nervous about the lessons and she had her call her personally so she could speak with her. I am so happy to have her teaching my daughter.

Thank you for your interest in lessons! I hope to help you achieve your goals and improve your skills, whether you're looking for music lessons, help in math, or need someone to proofread your essay before you turn it in. Every student is a unique person who deserves a lesson customized to their individual needs. Each of my students prospers in an atmosphere of patience and encouragement. While the lessons are fun and enjoyable, the serious student will be supported in the development of skills leading to a rewarding career, and the more casual students will grow in an appreciation of knowled
ge that will always enrich their lives.
I have been tutoring and teaching private lessons for over five years, and currently have over 40 active students. I received my bachelor's degree in music with an emphasis on vocal performance at the University of Redlands in 2011, and my Associate of Arts degree in 2008 from College of the Desert. Currently I teach online, locally, and at my studio, and cover a variety of subjects such as voice, music, theater, piano, math, english, music theory, just to name a few.
For academic tutoring (i.e. math, theory, vocabulary) I work on helping the student understand their homework and help prepare them for tests. I can also provide worksheets if necessary and am prepared to demonstrate problem areas in different ways if needed, because everyone learns differently. For voice, piano, music, and acting lessons I teach the student based on what their current level is. If you have no experience, that's okay! My lessons are uniquely designed to fit your needs no matter what level you may be.
As a music major I developed a deeper understanding of music theory, piano, voice, and theater. I received my A.A. in Music at College of the Desert and my Bachelor of Music degree at the University of Redlands- which I attended on a music scholarship. I have played leading roles in several operas and musicals in Southern California, including Gianni Schicchi, Die Fledermaus, La Boheme (DTL nominee), The Impresario, The Grand Duke, Patience (DTL award), Cosi fan tutte, Little Women, Seussical, and many more. I have also appeared in several concerts, opera scenes, competitions (winning music scholarships and theater awards), and worked as a singer in churches, restaurants, and in pop bands. I continue to stay active in the performance industry, because performing is a part of who I am and I could never live without it!
With this experience under my belt, I feel a desire to pass on my knowledge to students. I carry a strong passion to help people develop their abilities and make them their own. I truly believe that if someone wants something out of life they will achieve it with dedication, perseverance, confidence, and by having fun doing it!

Dance has played a strong role in my life for 30+ years. I am a professional dancer/choreographer. I love teaching both children and adults who have no rhythm at all but with a heart to dance, to dancers who are professionally trained. I enjoy bringing out of them laughter at themselves when they make a mistake, but instal in them when to take it seriously.
I bring very strong, professional and confident choreography to both all ages and levels of a dancer from beginners to advance. I have been working and teaching youth from ages 4 to adult for over 17 years. I additionally have training i
n tap, jazz, ballet, modern, african, lyrical, cheer tumbling, and competitive Hip Hop/Break choreography. I am as well a self motivator and a self discipline woman. It doesn’t stop there. I am a good candidate for a long term teacher and dancer with so much loyalty and patience for students.
If you need choreography with formal events, such as weddings, bday parties, quinceaneras etc I'm your girl! I have a blast working those events.

Nadia is by far the best dance instructor my daughter has ever had. Nadia has a great deal of knowledge and she cares about helping her students improve as dancers. She teaches them to have confidence and regardless of their current skills, she gives her students the tools they need to excel in dancing. I highly recommend her.

I specialize in tap and thoroughly enjoy enriching others lives with the art of dance. I graduated with Honors while majoring in Dance and Choreography at the University of California, Riverside with a Chancellor’s Performance Scholarship in Dance. I toured for two years, traveling around the United States, with the live stage shows “Sesame Street Live,” and “Dragon Tales Live” under VEE Corporation. I am also a member of the Taiko Center of Los Angeles, a Japanese drumming ensemble. And with TCLA, I have united tap and taiko at such venues as the Hollywood Bowl, Ford Theatre, and the Japan
American Theatre. Some of my film and television credits include: “187” starring Samuel L. Jackson, “Gilmore Girls,” “Seventh Heaven,” and the “O.C.” In addition, I am pursuing the art of teaching dance and have been teaching since the age of 15 at various institutions such as, the University of Redlands, Riverside Community College, Jane Addams Middle School in Lawndale, Room to Dance in Riverside and Claremont College among others. I am currently teaching at Santa Clarita Ballet Academy, Village Dance Arts in Claremont, The Academy of Music and Movement in La Verne, as well as out of my home dance studio.
