Wendy H. Peyton, CO

If you take singing lessons with me, you can expect to be able to sing well with a good range and added texture to your voice. You will also have a basic understanding of how music works and how to follow the directions that appear in written music. I use vocal and breathing exercises to strengthen and build your foundation. I let the student choose the music that they would like to sing as we learn and practice the concepts with all styles of music. There are many choices from pop, country, broadway, show tunes, Christian, and classical music that the student can sing. I believe that lessons should be take every week as it keeps the learning progress going and keeps the interest of the student. If you are taking singing lessons, I highly recommend taking an instrument along with it. It helps the understanding of how music works and how to read music. I believe lessons should be fun but also hard work.

About Wendy

With music programs being eliminated from many school's education, I feel it is even more important than ever for children, off all ages, to participate in some form of musical experience. Being a piano teacher for over twenty five years, I have seen many benefits for those taking music lessons. Some of these benefits are building self esteem and confidence, learning to focus, developing mental discipline, overcoming the fear of getting up in front of crowds, not to mention being able to play songs that we enjoy. My philosophy of music is that you don't have to be an expert to be able to enjoy playing an instrument. It is not that difficult to learn to play piano or guitar; it just takes a little time and effort. I believe that practicing doesn't have to be hours a day either,

Nailed it!!!

Kay has been great working with me. I am 24 and have been teaching myself guitar for about a year and then just got stuck, I didn't know how to advance or get any better; and she has been great getting me back on track and I feel confident working on improving. I am also taking voice lessons with Kay and have never done so with anyone before and was never in choir in high school or college, and feel much more confident in my own ability. She is very good at making me feel confident and working with my difficult schedule. She has also inspired me to get back into playing piano. I played for 6 years when I was in high school and she is helping me with my musical identity. Kay is great!!!
