Andrew G.

Dunedin, FL

About Andrew

I have been teaching students of all ages for 17 years. My principle instrument is Trumpet, but I teach multiple instruments. I received my BS in music from Radford University in 2000. I moved to Miami in 2001 to attend school and perform with artists such as Arturo Sandoval, Micheal Brecker, David Sandborn, Diana Krall, as well as numerous corporate bands in the Miami area playing for such people as Donald Trump and opening up for Lionel Richie and Elton John. Through out my entire educational and professional career I have helped many students reach their personal and professional goals.
As a teacher I understand the importance of patience and persistence, I utilize positive reinforcement and encouragement. Music is meant to be fun so therefore I make the lesson FUN! My teaching method is different for every student because every student is different and we all learn things in a different way. So as a teacher I adapt to you and what works for you.

Matthew K.

Clearwater, FL

About Matthew

Cheers. My name is Matthew. It's a pleasure to meet you. I play guitar, bass, drums and percussion all on a professional, weekly-gigging level. I would describe my style as motivating, tactful, patient, and both traditional and up-to-date / modern. I teach all styles, but I most enjoy transitioning North American rock musicians into the world of jazz, and especially SALSA / Latin, believe it or not! I have a Bachelors in Psychology (University of Central Florida), have toured Japan with my band, and I also release solo music. I have recorded in famous Tokyo studios and actually ended up living
in the Land of the Rising Sun for 4 years! I am Spanish, Japanese, and Portuguese speaking as well (English as my native language), having visited Colombia, Bali (Indonesia), Hong Kong, Japan, and more. I would love to teach you!

1. My location or yours
2. Have studied under MI (Music Institute) Hollywood Graduates
3. 10 years experience teaching music to all ages (Orlando to Tampa to TOKYO!)
4. Learn rock, jazz, blues, funk and other chords, the right way
5. finger-style to metal speed; various methods
6. Jazz tones, improvisation, voice leading, comping ...
7. Learn as a hobby, or choose to develop systematic practice regimens
8. Beginner to advanced
9. Profound understanding of how music works, as I play guitar, drums, bass AND percussion

*** Lesson Details ***
I am laid back, yet I make sure to motivate my students. I can tell if they are excited about returning home to practice, and I use this motivation as my center. I enjoy using music books part of the time, as well as metronomes. My style is well rounded, and I prefer to teach multiple genres because each new genre improves all other genres. But for instance, if you're ONLY into punk rock, we can buckle down and concentrate on just that. I am very democratic in my teaching style; YOU'RE the student, and I adhere to your goals while showing you what other music has to offer as well! Bring in your favorite CDs/mp3s; I can learn songs on the spot within minutes.

Best instructor I had so far.

Matt definitely knows his stuff. I had 4 classes with him and I'm shocked at the things I've learn with him. Great schedule flexibility and makes you feel comfortable from the time you meet him. Has a great and spacious place to teach compared to other I had. Hes willing to help anytime with questions. I decided to keep him as instructor for now on. Thanks!

I think he was to scared to teach my daughter. I also think he needs a better place to teach, and he needs to make the classes more fun for kids. Our first lesson wasn't a good experience.

He is an excellent teacher! Just because you play drums doesn't mean you can teach drums. My son has shown so much growth working with Glenn. He is truly a great teacher and I would highly recommend him to anyone.

Great Drum Instructor !!

Great Drum Instructor!! He has a true passion for teaching and identifies quickly with his students.

My son has been taking lessons from him since the age of 13 and he learned more in his first year than most kids learn through many years of instruction.

He is a personable, friendly and talented professional !! I would highly recommend him for anyone!

Christina and I were a good fit. I was reluctant to find a teacher on line, but she turned out to be a pleasant surprise. She's easy to work with, she's patient and her instructional explanations are a monumental plus. I think this will be a long lasting relationship....I highly recommend this young lady.

Christina is an excellent teacher. She is very detailed when
explaining how to play a song in the correct time signature.
I like the fact that she does not move forward until I have
learned where my problem areas are; for example timing.
I would highly recommend Christina as a piano teacher.

My 7-year-old daughter has been taking drum lessons from Rosgo since this past fall and she has really enjoyed it and improved weekly. Rosgo has a good handle on drum basics and organizes her lessons in a way where each week builds on the previous week. He has been very flexible as our lessons moved from a music store to our home after the owners of the store retired. He has been a positive influence on my daughter as well and she truly loves him as a teacher. If you are just starting out on the drums, Rosgo is the perfect teacher for you.

I know. You came here for a guitar instructor. Well you've found a great one. Ross is a guitarist and a multi-instrumentalist extraordinaire. Me? I played, self-taught, conga drums for years and then I met Ross. He taught me the two most important aspects of learning any instrument ... daily practice and timing! Having a fantastic guitarist to practice / take lessons with was a wonderful experience. The fellow is talented. He plays guitar, drums, bass, harp and even dabbles in vocals. Want to learn blues? Rock, Country? Doesn't matter ... this fellow does it all. Indeed, I enjoyed his company so much I have found a guitar so I can begin guitar lessons next month.
