I provide beginner level piano lessons and keyboard skills training.

About Blake
Hi, my name is Blake C. I teach guitar, singing, piano, drums, and bass online and at my Lowell, Indiana studio.

I also teach business, grammar, math (elementary, basic, pre-algebra) writing to include essay and professional business writing.

As a doctoral student at the University of New England, I am currently studying educational leadership with an emphasis on transformative leadership. In addition, I hold a Master of Science degree in Strategic Leadership from the University of Mary located in Bismarck, North Dakota and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from WGU Indiana in Indianapolis, Indiana.

I have more than 26 years of experience as an executive and senior leader in the supply chain/logistics industry. Furthermore, I have nearly six years of experience consulting in business management, quality control, con
tinuous improvement, education, and training.

During the same 26 years of my business career, I have been a professional musician - session musician and teacher. I was formally trained at the American Conservatory of Music and the Chicago Musical College, both located in Chicago. I won the Presidential Scholarship in Classical Guitar Performance at the American Conservatory of Music and another full-ride scholarship in Classical Guitar Performance to attend the Chicago Musical College.

My primary Classical Guitar Instructor at both institutions was Paul Henry. I also studied Rock Guitar with Dave Uhrich while attending both institutions and privately studied Jazz Guitar with Scott Reed. I studied voice with Audrey Evans at the American Conservatory of Music and Robert Long at the Chicago Musical College.

I have participated in Classical Guitar Master Classes with:
• Hubert Kappel
• Dale Kavanagh
• Eleftheria Kotzia
• Bruce Holzman
• Stephen Aron
• Raphaella Smits
• Richard Provost
• Nicholas Goluses
• William Buonocore.

*** Lesson Details ***

I design lessons individually according to the needs and "wants" of each student. I specialize in developing and correcting technique in technique to improve the student's overall skill. Students that dedicate the time and effort each week to practicing see rapid and sustained results.

However, if you have a busy life and merely want to learn guitar for personal enjoyment, I will design your lessons to develop your skill at a pace that works for you, which can fluctuate according to your schedule.

***Young & Special Needs Students***

I teach children as young as 13 years old and adults to the age of 70 years old. When teaching younger children and individuals with special needs, it is significantly beneficial for parents to attend each lesson - I have parent seating available. When parent(s) attend lessons, the parent can assist the younger student while practicing during the week at home.

In my experience, the overall musical development and progress of younger students improve considerably when parents are involved.

***Thoughts on Musical Talent***

Musical talent is a wonderful gift, but correct technique is not easily acquired without proper instruction. Your skill level eventually plateaus and your ability to learn and perform more complicated music is inhibited, unless you have a solid foundation in music theory as it applies to your instrument(s) as well as proper technique.

I can help you build this solid foundation and will guide you through the development of musical skills; correcting flaws in technique is my specialty.

I teach all levels, ages, and musical styles. Every student is unique, so I believe in discovering together the best custom method for each of my students. I hold music degrees from some of the top music schools in the US.

About Dr. Jonathan
Jonathan began his musical studies at age 7, after falling in love with his first classical music cassette tape given to him the prior year. Jonathan trained as a pianist throughout his childhood, and studied with the venerated Harvey Wedeen at Temple University in Philadelphia through middle and high school. He made his orchestral debut as soloist with the Lancaster Symphony Orchestra at age 15, after winning their instrumental competition. Continuing his piano studies into college, where piano was his primary instrument, he completed a bachelors in music at the Eastman School of Music. During these college years, he played regular outreach concerts as part of a chamber group for a myriad of organizations. He has given solo recitals, accompanied other musicians, and played in chamber groups. He now holds a doctorate in music from the Uni
versity of Maryland at College Park.

During high school, Jonathan became fascinated by writing his own music, and now holds three degrees from preeminent schools in the field of music composition. His music has been performed by numerous ensembles and musicians, including the Kronos Quartet, Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, Eastman Musica Nova, and Knox-Galesburg Symphony. He was recently a featured guest composer at the Bowling Green State University New Music and Art Festival. His piece for stings, Nightscape, has been a particular audience favorite and performed by orchestras across the US. Jonathan also enjoys doing collaborative and multimedia projects with local choreographers, videographers, and musicians.

As a teacher, Jonathan is exceptionally patient, always engaged with his students’ progress, and actively listens to what his students want from their lessons and in helping them decide on the music they want to play. He takes a very practical and holistic approach to teaching keyboard, and always makes sure to discover the fun in learning. Jonathan strongly believes that all students, no matter where one is in life, possess the ability to achieve success in their lessons – and that his job is to guide them to unlock and discover their potential, to inspire their curiosity, and to help them advance their musical skills on their chosen instrument. Jonathan has also taught courses in theory, aural skills, sight-singing, and composition at the University of Maryland and Ball State University. He has studied music pedagogy, and actively pursues researching about new methods and developments on the learning process.

I've studied piano for over 18 years and harp for over 14 years. My pre-collegiate work consisted of five years of piano, music theory/history, and collaborative work at the Pennsylvania Academy of Music. I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Piano Performance with a Harp Minor from Houghton College, New York. At that time, I did accompanying and teaching while performing in symphonies. Following, I taught piano and harp to over 60 students, ages 4-65, in North Carolina at the Cary School of Music.

About Laura
I began my classical training in both piano and harp at a young age. As I progressed, I began studying piano, music theory, music history, and collaborative piano at the Pennsylvania Academy of Music for five years. I then earned my Bachelor's Degree in Piano Performance with a Harp Minor at Houghton College 'Greatbatch School of Music' in New York where I taught both instruments and worked as an accompanist. After graduating, I moved to North Carolina where I taught over 60 students ages 4-65 at Cary School of Music for three years.

Following, I relocated to Los Angeles where I spent three years working as a performing musician and music teacher through the Royal Music Conservatory and MTLA. During my teaching in California, I became certified through the Music Teachers' Association of California where the majority of my students bega
n Certificate of Merit competitions.
While teaching privately, I began working full time as a music teacher at the Help Group School for Autism where I also maintained a position as the charity event choir director...performing with various artists such as the rapper 'Common' and former Temptations singer 'Luis Price.'

While most of my training is in the Classical field, I have a strong passion for contemporary music as well. I believe that both piano and harp have the ability to reach many different audiences. As a teacher, I believe in giving my students a strong Classical foundation while using the technique and theory to delve into other styles of music such as jazz and contemporary pop/alternative. With this instruction, each student will be able to find what music inspires him/her while having the skills and technique to further the chosen style.

Laura was my daughter’s piano teacher for 2 years at Cary School of Music. Overall, she is just an amazing teacher. Laura is very knowledgeable and always very positive; she can handle all challenges that come up teaching kids; hence, she is extremely well with kids. She knows how to challenge the kids at the right pace and still make the lessons fun. My daughter describes her “fun, friendly, and kind.” My daughter has had five piano teachers so far, and Laura has been the best!!

Justice was the perfect piano instructor for me. I wanted to learn one specific song to play and sing as a proposal to my girlfriend. Justice helped me learn it in only 5 lessons, even though I had never played piano previously! He was skillful, encouraging, and fun! Justice made the most of each lesson to ensure that we met my goal. The engagement turned out beautifully; 'she said yes'! And my fiancé was quite surprised that I could play piano. Thanks Justice!!

I've been teaching Piano for 10 years now. Within the first few lessons, you'll be able to identify the notes of the piano and be able to play many easy songs. And as time goes on you'll be able to play more complex songs with both hands. I specialize in Classical, Church and Broadway, typically use Faber and Faber for kids and Alfred books for adults. I love working with students of all ages and experience levels and I can't wait to meet you!

About Christine
Christine has been teaching private voice and piano lessons since 2005 and is currently available to teach lessons at Camp Hill Church of God. Christine has helped students of all ages pursue their love of music and develop their skills and education for many years. She loves teaching students in all music styles and finds that relating to them with the music that they love and incorporate it into what they are learning helps them understand and appreciate what they're learning even more.

Christine received a degree in Honors Vocal Performance in 2005. As an expert in her field, Christine looks forward to helping new students achieve their goals.Christine's teaching style is fun, educational and stress-free. My students will learn basic piano instruction, music theory, chords and scales, rymthem and dynamics, and to express themselves thru music of there choice. Mrs G's Piano students all earn points for there practice time, lessons, duets, recitals, memorization and use those points to compete against themselves and earn prizes. Two recitals are held a year to promote confidence and accountability. I prefer the Alfred series for teaching piano lessons on my digital piano because it is fun and easy to learn with quick results. All the student needs to do is practice.

About Brenda
I'm very passionate about the benefits of piano lessons and do my best to make it fun and exciting and rewarding. You will learn on my digital piano with weekly lessons and expectation of you practicing every day for at least 20 minutes. Points are given for your accomplishments with prizes for all at the end of the month. Holiday and fun music is learned along with Two recitals a year should you choose to participate. My daughter has been taking lessons for 9 months and just did a 4 page duet with Mrs. 'G " at a recital. She is very energetic; she encourages and gives awards which the young kids respond to; sometimes her cat comes to listen. No pressure and the kids can pick some of the advance books of songs they like. We go in person but she is now open to Face Time lessons. She is also very flexible for sick days; snow days, and the typical crazy kid activity schedule. If you like personal, friendly postitive energy...Mrs. "G" is your teacher!

My Grandaughter, Lydia, is 8 years old and has been taking lessons from Mrs. "G"
since last September. Immediately, Lydia, felt welcome and comfortable. She has been in two recitals, and was in the Talent show at her school. We are all amazed at her proficiency at this early stage of learning. Her confidence in performing before an audience is all due to the way Mrs. "G" teaches. She makes the lessons fun and rewarding. I would recommend Brenda Ginther to any children interested in piano lessons. She is a joy to be with and Lydia loves her.

Dora has been very good at keeping our daughter interested in piano and helping to inspire her to more and more challenging levels of playing. She has incorporated Music Theory as a regular portion of the training and has made it more than just learning the piano by itself, but an understanding of music. Dora is very involved with Lancaster Music Teachers Association and this brings so many opportunities for involvement with recitals, additional training events and the chance to see many other talented students in our area. We are very pleased with the interest and dedication that Dora has shown in our daughter over the past 3 years.

Dora is a WONDERFUL teacher for anyone of any age seeking to learn and play piano!!! My nine year old daughter and I both started lessons with Dora almost a year ago and she works with us both so well. With great patience and persistence. She takes the time to get to know you and knows when to push you. She is really thorough; Dora has had us learning music theory since the beginning. Additionally she does not allow us to form bad habits; Dora insists on correct seat height, posture, the way to hold your shoulders, arms hands, fingers. No correct notes played with incorrect fingers permitted! Dora is a performing musician and often when we are arriving at her cozy home based studio we are treated to the soaring sounds of her playing the glossy Yamaha grand piano we play (someday we hope to make it sound even half as beautiful!) She is usually rehearsing for a show. Speaking of shows Flora had had my daughter perform with her other students onstage twice and me once. She offers her students opportunities for learning at other places as well. A solid education in the mechanics of playing and musical expression on the piano, music theory and performance is what you will receive with our dear Dora Zlatkin, who I am proud to call not only my teacher, but my friend too. She is the best!

These lessons are designed to enhance a student's life through the study of music. Music is initially provided and I strive to have the student learning enjoyable music from the first few lessons. With an emphasis on reading music and ear training, through games, songs and instruments, students are encouraged to develop not only their own musical talent, but to discover the joy of music. Within the lessons, Music Mind Games are employed to enhance the student’s learning and enjoyment.

About Donna
After studying violin and piano in Boston, at New England Conservatory with Eric Rosenblith as well as Robert Soetens in France, I have been fortunate to enjoy nearly twenty years of teaching violin and piano students. I have earned a BS and MS degrees.

I believe all my students should enjoy music and lessons so students learn enjoyable music from the first few lessons.

For the younger students I use Music Mind Games training to enhance the lesson experience.

My professional violin experience includes performances with many orchestras including a ten-year member of the Chattanooga Symphony, Chattanooga Opera Orchestra, and the New Art Trio, Charleston Symphony, Savannah Symphony and chamber orchestras and ensembles in the Savannah, Chattanooga and Richmond areas. My experience also includes performances with Richmond Symphony in
Richmond, VA, Virginia Symphony in Norfolk, VA, Dover Delaware Symphony as well as performance venues in the Pennsylvania area.

Motivation is crucial and excellence is preferred. That's why in the studio I'll mix up music fundamentals with songs each student enjoys to keep learning fun and motivation high.

In addition, beginner students will be taught note names, fundamental rhythms, and how to sight read. Students will then progress to classic piano literature, supplemented with scales, technique, and music theory. Favorite student songs ranging from hymns to pop and praise & worship can also be incorporated.

I look forward to seeing you succeed!

About Anna
Hi there! I'm Anna, and I'm looking forward to meeting you. I've been offering private piano lessons since 2009 and offer foundations in music theory, technique, sight-reading and classic piano repertoire.

I begin most students in Faber method books, before branching into classical repertoire including selections from Baroque, Classical, Romantic and Contemporary time periods. My teaching style is flexible though, so I'll be happy to adapt to your individual liking and needs.

In 2012 I graduated from Thomas Edison State College with a degree in music and in 2017 I completed my Master's in Education from Post University. Today I enjoy teaching music to students ranging from six years old through adult.

I believe quality practice and motivation are key to success, and I'm looking forward to helping you succeed!
