I can teach 4-string, 5-string, and 4-string fretless bass.
I can show you all styles, from jamming along to basic notes of the radio-friendly variety to intricate scales that outline the melody.
I can teach you how to use a pick, which great for beginners. I also play finger-style and slap, which are more advanced techniques.
You'll learn how to keep it low in the mix and tightly maintain the rhythm section. Then if you want, stand out on a crowded stage with blistering leads and tasty slap parts!
I will also show you the very important methods to hone in your tone and gain properly to play properly with others and on recordings. I can show you how to play in lower tuning as well!
I typically will teach and write bass using tablature instead of standard sheet music. These are a simple set of lines and numbers that are much easier to read, and once learned will instantly give you access to thousands of songs.
I can give tips on playing live or being in a band, as ...

Along with playing guitar and studying music theory, those skills have been applied to learning various stringed instruments including the bass guitar. I have had the privilege of nearly 20 years of playing music and have been able to apply my skills and knowledge into learning bass and effectively teach my students. I teach a variety of skills and styles including but not limited to: rock, jazz, blues, country, pop, alternative, pick style, finger style, and others. My goal as an instructor is to keep the lessons fresh, fun, interesting, and to ultimately guide the students to better teach themselves as they gain experience and familiarity with the instrument and music. Students can have their lessons catered to the music and styles they wish to pursue. Lessons are tailored to each individual student so that we can build upon their strengths and focus on lessons to improve weaker areas. Students will learn how to build dexterity, use proper technique, and be creative. Every student ...

Hey everyone! I spend most of my time touring the world with A list pop artists as guitarist/bassist/multi-instrumentalist, but in my spare time I love passing along the gift of music via teaching. I've been playing bass for half my life, and in addition to bass I can also teach beginner guitar, piano, drums and music production. I've taught all different kinds of students, ranging in age and ability. I tailor my lessons specifically for each students needs, and to match their personalities and interests. Wanna learn how to play a Taylor Swift song? Sick! Wanna learn a blues chord progression? Awesome! Wanna learn how to shred like a Norwegian death metal god? I got you!

Corey has a wealth of knowledge and experience in making and teaching the art of music. He is always encouraging his students to become more than they perceive themselves to be.
16+ years ago I went 'live' for the first time with Corey's encouragement.
I was absolutely petrified.
I was convinced that it was possible to urinate down both pant legs simultaneously. Clearly I was mistaken.
That first introduction to musical performance by Corey has lead to so much in my life.
Under Corey's instruction I have played many styles of music. This has always been done in an encouraging, empowering, engaging and fun environment.
Please look at the first sentence of this review.
His teaching methods lead to positive results.
Become the musician that you wish to be."
