I am an MIT tutor specializing in math, science, and test prep, and I have received a perfect score on the SAT Math. I have taught math anywhere between pre-algebra and calculus (including including test prep) for 5 years. I also have received perfect scores on both ACT Math and SAT Math Level 2 (SAT Subject Test).

Before we begin our lessons, I ask the student to take a diagnostic test that I provide and discuss the results with the parents and/or student so that we can develop a plan that works the best for the student and his/her schedule.

During the lessons, I drill the students on these topics until I am fully convinced that the student has fully mastered the materials. As we progress through the course and as the student make progress in different areas, I adapt the curriculum so that the students can most benefit from the lessons.

I normally use the Princeton Review's Cracking the SAT with 6 Practice Tests, Kaplan's SAT Math Workbook, and McGraw Hill's SAT with 4 ...

I stress understanding (geometrically/analytically) rather than memorizing formulas. This ensures my students can derive formulas/solutions even without memorization.

I know firsthand how difficult it is to learn test taking skills whether you are a total newbie, or a budding intermediate, but I have overcame these challenges myself and will guide you to overcome them too. I also have close to 8 years of tutoring experience, which will surely come in handy!

My name is Mena. I have a strong background in math with a degree in Actuarial science and have been tutoring the SAT Math, ACT Math, Algebra 1&2, and Geometry for over four years. I have extensive knowledge of the testing strategies needed to make the exam fun and easy. I work with students to find areas that need strengthening then work patiently with them to hone their skills. Successful test preparation is largely about demystifying the test through time spent learning the correct approach which I have years of experience doing, with that confidence students can achieve any score they set their minds to.

I scored in the 96th percentile on the SAT. When I was an undergraduate at Trinity University, I was exempt from taking the required English courses due to my high SAT scores in reading and writing.

I teach every level and prepare students to take ACT, SAT, GRE tests. I always strive to motivate and engage my students to make the learning interesting and fun.

All my tutoring sessions include reviews of previously learned material and if possible the use of technology. I use students books but often bring extra study materials if necessary.
