Ms. Rada Culciar is a well educated and very professional instructor. Her teaching approach is organized and easy to follow. I have made wonderful progress under Ms. Culciar's instruction. I would encourage anyone who would like to study the violin (or any other subject of study) to take lessons with Ms. Rada Culciar.

Online Music Theory Teacher

I tutor both western classical and jazz music theory and composition. To enroll in theory and composition lessons, a musical background on an instrument is not necessary. However, learning an instrument in tandem to theory lessons is strongly encouraged since it will be more rewarding to be able to apply what you have learned. I teach lessons in guitar, bass guitar and ukulele, but as a music education graduate, I have training on most western instruments. If you play another instrument, such as brass, strings, woodwinds, percussion, or voice, then I can adapt theory lessons to your particular instrument. Whether you are interested in writing songs casually to share with friends or preparing for music study in college and a career in music, I can develop our music theory lessons accordingly.

If you are a beginner with music, we will start with learning notes, intervals, scales, chords, rhythms, and reading notation. You will also learn to play these on your instrument. You will ...

Music theory is very important to know and understand if you want to become a better musician. Learn the basics of key signatures, quality of chords (major versus minor, etc. which will help express emotion and create tension in a song), rhythm, grooves, etc.

Hi there! So you're passionate about music? Do you want to feel more connected to what you're doing? Are you feeling stuck and frustrated, as if you hit a plateau? Or maybe you just have certain goals you want to reach and need someone to hold you accountable. Do your thoughts and self

I really like Kimberly because she lets me pick my own songs to learn and is really nice in general. She makes music sheets for me to take home and study and I’ve learned a lot from her since my first lesson. I think she is a great music teacher and I hope anybody who wants to take guitar lessons will give her a shot.

"I have enjoyed working with Victor. He is very knowledgeable about the music in particular the Baroque period. He brings a very good perspective that has enriched my understanding of early music. I can say clearly that one leaves sessions with a desire to learn more and with an understanding of music as serious branch of human study rather than something that is simply fun (in the sense of being mundane amusement)."

"The lessons (piano & music theory) I learned from Buzz Amato was the sole reason I got signed to a label & was able to produce 2 Billboard charted singles (which he co-produced with me). I now tour the world djing and produce with talented artists that come to me based off my musical knowledge, that I received from Buzz. I can honestly say NONE of this would happen without the musical instruction of Buzz. Thank you Buzz!"

"Gifted teacher with amazing skill and knowledge

Our experience with Nick was outstanding. Nick gave our son multiple years of guitar lessons, as well as music theory and composition instruction. This was while our student was in a charter high school for music, and playing for hours a day. Yet, Nick's lessons were the ones he looked forward to the most. Nick treated him not only like a valued student but also as a capable musician. Guitar was not our son's first instrument, yet Nick never forgot that he needed to learn some things as a beginner and others by building on skills of an already playing musician. The individualization was the best we have seen in any music teacher. Nick was able to take him far very quickly too. And, they had a great time. The in-person lessons and Skype lessons were at an equally high level. Each lesson was personalized to our student's needs at that moment in time. Nick respected his needs in school to be working on a specific composition or learning a specific skill or even the need to be flexible with traveling. Our student has gone on to play his own music, as well as covers, at large and small venues in multiple states. He still uses the warm-ups Nick gave him to keep his speed up. Thanks Nick!"

"Honestly I couldn't have picked a better teacher. Above all else, Christian really takes the time to help you understand what he's teaching and how to apply it to your own playing. I've been playing guitar for 10 years now and before I started taking lessons from him, I never knew how much I didn't know. Every lesson is fun and engaging and definitely well worth the rate. Bar none."

Music Student Face-Off: Memorizers vs. Readers | Which is Better?

As you learn songs and work through your music books, do you memorize the notes? Or do you read along every time you play? In this post, music teacher Vanessa G. discusses the pros and cons to the approaches...   Imagine your teacher gives you a piece of music to study. What's your process? Do you listen to a recording, memorizing the melody and the stylistic aspects before you begin, and then as you play? Or would you sit down and sight read the notes, and perfect it from that star …
