Lessons are specifically tailored to each student based on ability level, learning style, and goals. Younger children will focus more on technique and fun, but in every lesson it is my goal for my students to grow their own musical sensibilities. Above all, I love sharing with my students the joy that playing the guitar can add to their lives.

About Kevin
Every student deserves a teacher that is attentive, committed and above all highly competent. I can provide this to students of all ages. Younger students will be given the freedom to explore the instrument and music as they progress. Because of the many necessities of life, I recommend specific goals for adult students.

I love sharing the joy of music with my students, and would love to help you or your son/daughter find the music within.

***Background***
My initial studies were in jazz and other electric styles, and I performed in a number of varied ensembles. I graduated with a Master's degree from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. My main focus these days is classical music. I have performed in masterclasses with Manuel Barrueco, Denis Azabagic, and Dominic Frasca.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I bring blank staff
paper and other paper materials (music, exercises) to each lesson, as well as my guitar. I will bring a 1/4" cable for electric students. I expect students to bring their instrument and any accessories necessary. A music stand is required.

*** Specialties ***
My primary performing instrument is classical guitar, and I am well-versed in the literature. I love teaching jazz, rock, folk, or any other kind of music on the guitar.

Kevin is a fantastic teacher for young children. He maintains a fun and playful environment for them while also explaining things in a way that they can understand. My 7 year old daughter has been taking lessons from him for a few months now and she really enjoys her time.

About Art
Art has been playing guitar for 15 Years and has been a professional musician his entire adult life. After graduating from the world famous Musicians Institute in Los Angeles Art taught hundreds of students from complete beginners to touring pros and has played on several national commercials/tv themes and played countless gigs in nearly every time zone from Seattle to New York to Sydney.

Currently Art is the guitar player in the half texan half australian rock outfit Dellacoma who just finished up 15 months of nearly non stop touring and just released their first album on Shock Records. Theyve toured all over America and Australia and currently are preparing for European tour dates across Germany, Spain, Italy, France, Belgium and the UK in the summer of 2016. Theyve shared the stage with Def Leppard, Styx, Black Label

Now off the road for a signifigant amount of time, Art has resumed teaching full time and is resuming enrolling students. Art has been a guitar teacher for over 6 years and has taught (and played) everything from taylor swift to metallica to james brown. He believes every student learns at their own pace and does not believe in a "one size fits all approach" for learning the guitar. He tailor makes every curriculum for the student and can help every individual achieve their goal whether its strumming around the campfire or wanting to dazzle crowds with technical wizardry.

*** Lesson Details ***
Students taking lessons from me can expect a balanced music lesson. A combination of practical skill based things such as technique, scales, theory but also learning your favorite songs from your favorite bands or artists. I bring conservatory based training mixed with real life world experience to students from my training at the Musicians Institute and the hundreds of gigs and recording sessions. I have a very laid back approach and believe that music lessons are healthiest and most fun activities a human being can engage in. I use a wide variety of curriculums based on the students skill levels and wants and needs. Whether you're an absolute beginner intermediate or advanced or you want to learn acoustic pop, funk or heavy metal i've performed it, recorded it and taught it. After a few months of lessons with me students can expect to be playing along to there favorite songs, able to improvise over chord progressions and developed some technique and sense of rhythm.

*** Studio Equipment ***
The lessons are taught in the living room with all equipment. Seating is available. Parking is on the street.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I provide copies of material as well as my own supplies from paper and pen to cabes tuners and amp. I expect the student to have a quiet space {assuming an in home lesson} to teach in as well as guitar, amp, and picks. I also provide the music stand and metronome.

I've been teaching guitar for 10 years. I tailor lesson plans to help each individual student reach his or her goals. I teach chords, rhythm playing, and various scales (for soloing), and I believe a good foundation in proper technique makes for the best guitar players.

About Victoria
My name is Victoria. I'm originally from beautiful San Diego, California, but I am now a full time professional musician based out of Philadelphia. I've instructed students (of varying ages and backgrounds) from all over the country on bass, guitar, live performance, and song writing. This includes one-on-one instruction and group lessons. I received a certification in live performance, studio work, and songwriting through The Contemporary Music Center, now located in Nashville, TN. And I I Finished my Bachelor's degree at Eastern University

I've toured all over the country with acts such as Talain Rayne and played bass on his album "Attic Lights." I also completed an internship in Nashville, TN with hit songwriter, Kate York.
For the past five years, I've played with the band Element K (under Shore Bets booking agency) as the lead
singer and guitarist. I've played shows all over the Northeast including (but not limited to) Xfinity Live, Wells Fargo Center, Hard Rock Cafe, The Tin Angel, Borgata AC, Ballys, Tropicana, and Seacrets in OCMD.
I love music and the role it has played in shaping my life. I value the experiences and wisdom passed on to me by my music mentors and instructors, who not only had a meaningful impact on my music career but also immensely influenced my development as a person.
I look forward to having that same positive impact on any student I instruct :)

*** Lesson Details ***
I like lessons to be, first and foremost, an enjoyable experience for everyone involved. I try to create a laid back and comfortable learning environment for all my students. Music is fun, and I guarantee that there will be plenty of good times while taking lessons!
Now, let me also clarify that my positive attitude and laid back demeanor are not excuses for students to be undisciplined and uncommitted. I promise to work hard toward your development as a musician to make you the best you can be, and I appreciate the same commitment from all of my students.
Music should be enjoyable, but also rewarding and enriching to your life! I don’t want to sell that short!

Below is a basic rundown of what a student can expect to learn while under my instruction. I would first like to preface this information by saying that I fully recognize that every student is different; therefore, I tailor lessons to fit an individual’s needs and goals. Because of this, the priority of certain skills tends to vary from one student to another, as does the order in which this skills are taught. I also want to note that I tend to use some self-made resources (charts, explanations, etc) in addition to published books. Taking into consideration the aforementioned variables, here is the basic rundown of the material I try to cover with students, in the general order it is taught:

-Understanding of guitar parts (anatomy of the instrument) and basic terms (ie note, chord, etc).
-Names of strings (E-string, B-string, etc.) and corresponding numbers for strings (1-6), and which fingers are given what numbers.
-Tuning of the instrument
-Basic technique (how to finger a fret board, hold guitar, hold pick, etc).
-How to find notes on the fret board/chromatic
-Basic rhythm concepts and counting (whole notes, quarter notes, time signatures, etc)—usually involves clapping exercise, single note playing exercises, reading rhythm charts, and learning what different note values look like.
-Basic concepts of “keys”
-Basic major and minor scales (especially for “warming up”)
-Chords (mostly basic open chords)
-Strumming
-Learning songs to put concepts together
For more advanced students, we will likely get into the following:
-Power chords, bar chords, and complex chords beyond majors and minors.
-Scales beyond basic majors and minors
-Music theory (chord construction, modes, etc).
-Knowledge of gear (for those guitarist who wish to branch out to electric guitar)—bass players will already have to know some of this before moving to more advanced work since they already require an amp.
-How to play with other musicians and instruments (collaboration, listening, understanding each instrument’s part, etc).

[To give students a basic timeline for these skills, one can expect to be playing open chords within three months and probably their favorite songs within 6 months]

SONGWRITING TEACHING METHODS:
-Review slides about basic song structure and anatomy of songs (verse, hook, etc)
-lyric and vocal phrasing
-finding your voice as a writer
-exploring environments and conditions that foster one’s creativity for writing songs (preference for outdoors, quite secluded spaces, etc).

LIVE PERFORMANCE:
-Breathing/relaxation exercises
-Movement/watching footage of self
-Watching footage of others
-Acting/stage exercises to get out of your head and into your body
-learning common problems with live performances and becoming comfortable with fast, on-the-spot trouble shooting (and how to avoid some problems before they begin).
-Finding your stage voice, both in singing and speaking.
-Developing your stage persona

*** Studio Equipment ***
Lessons in the living room
Equipped with guitars, bass amp, guitar amp, guitar cables, and tuner.

*** Travel Equipment ***
Student should provide his or her own guitar (and amps when applicable)

*** Specialties ***
I'm currently a professional musician that sings and plays guitar and bass for pop and rock music. We perform in front of thousands of people each week so I'm very comfortable giving live performance instruction as well.

wonderful books for ages 5 through Adult. Also a great way for the very young to sing and read music while playing an instrument. Can be taught to read music, may also learn by Tablature. Books can also take in your specific interests, rock, jazz, country, etc.

About Mary
Music degree from Lawrence University and Conservatory in Appleton, WI. Graduate work in conducting, piano, and vocal pedagogy at Westminster Choir College in Princeton. Also certified in Kindermusik for ages newborn to 7.

My studio, since 1993 is located in the back of my house and is in a family friendly location.

As my education originally was music education, elementary and secondary, I have gone on to be certified in teaching adults, both beginning and returning. There is so much piano and vocal educational material geared to the pre-school, the elementary, Jr-Sr high and Adult beginner and I promise we will have fun while learning.....

Anyone can learn an instrument and anyone can learn many different styles. Lessons will be geared toward your interests and goals, which we can work on at your lesson also.

The grea
test virtues of a music teacher are passion, patience, understanding, and communicating. You will experience this in the studio. Give yourself a treat of two months of lessons and I promise you will be playing and/or singing better than you expected.

Member of MTNA (Music Teachers National Association), NFMC (National Federation of Music Clubs),

I am generally easy going and laid-back and will work with you to obtain specific goals such as a piece you would really like to learn. I can be strict if assignments are not followed or if there is no progression; we need to analyze why that is. I use many teaching methods as there are many different learning styles. The series I am currently using are Faber, Alfred, and Celebrate Piano! for pianists. Many singers are in Broadway, Disney, and/or English Reliquary and Italian Arias. There are so many wonderful choices! I can guarantee after three months you will be playing some music you like, and you will be reading music, and able to perform if you wish (starting small). With singing you will have basic knowledge of proper posture, breathing, and increased range. I also so enjoy people and communicating so you will feel comfortable taking lessons, and I believe that is one major factor of success in learning an instrument: the student-teacher relationship And second for children, especially the young, is the parent-teacher relationship .

*** Studio Equipment ***
Studio: Yamaha baby grand piano, Kawaii studio upright and keyboard, Yamaha keyboard, recording abilities, computer software, couch and two chairs, parents can sit in on lesson. Also have computer programs for note learning, composition, as well as giving you apps to download.

*** Specialties ***
Different methods for different students. Piano: mostly Faber and Alfred series. "Prodigy": Aaron/Thompson series. I've also had graduate study in teaching the Adult Beginner! As I was a church music director 1994 till last September, I am very familiar with traditional and contemporary sacred music, learning and performing. If you also wish to combine singing and accompanying yourself on piano or guitar lessons can be tailored.

Ryan takes his time and tailors my lessons specifically to my level and to the type of music I’d like to play. He covers everything from the basics – like the proper way to hold the pick – to more advanced teachings like music theory. Ryan is flexible, patient, easy going, and he consistently teaches at a pace that I’m comfortable with. He provides take-home practice after every lesson and always has helpful suggestions any time I have questions. What I find incredibly helpful is that at the end of the lesson Ryan will run through the take-home practice on his guitar and let me record it on my phone so it’s easier for me to remember. When I’m ready to practice the next day I just pull up his notes and the video and I’m ready to go!

It’s obvious that Ryan has a passion for music, and it shows in his lessons. I would easily give him my highest recommendation.

Students will learn basic chords, progressions, and scales on guitar while building a repertoire of songs that we'll choose together. During lessons students will be encouraged to sing if they'd like to learn to sing and play simultaneously. Students will also learn note reading and chord reading through written exercises. Intermediate students will learn basic improvisation and accompaniment skills.

About Collin
My name is Collin. I have been teaching private lessons since 2013 and have helped young students learn to read music and to sing and play simultaneously. I have also taught accomplished musicians to play electric bass, my primary instrument.
I earned my Bachelor of Music degree in Professional Music with a concentrate in Music Education and Performance at Berklee College of Music in 2014. I currently play in rock bands Ellen Siberian Tiger and Mother Moses, and with Boston-based Bangla pop singer Prithwiraj Choudhury.
I have had experience playing a wide variety of styles of music including rock, folk, Afro-Cuban, Brazilian, jazz, funk, blues, and R&B. I teach beginner level piano, trombone and drums, beginner to intermediate guitar, vocals and upright bass, and all levels of electric bass playing. I like to connect my students so tha
t they have experience playing with other musicians and other styles of music.

I am a public school music teacher and Collin has been giving my 5 yo son piano lessons for about 6 months. I am very impressed with Collin's patience with a very active 5 yo boy. He instructs him in music "theory" as it relates to the piano, while also developing appropriate beginner skills. He gears his lessons to what my son wants to do at the time and Collin is very good at finding teachable moments.

Collin is a well-trained musician and has had instruction in music education and its theories and practices. He is very punctual and interacts with my son in a very friendly manner. I give Collin my full recommendation!
