Very nice and professional. My daughter loves her.

I’m an adult viola student which is kind of different for me. I started playing again after a couple years and I’m trying to learn ways to play with other musicians. Emily has been really good with helping me focus on what I want to learn. She is patient with me and also plays with me and makes me feel comfortable in my lesson. afterwards I feel good and positive and I want to play more! I suggest her for anyone trying to be creative and wants to improve on tempo, rythm, tone etc. she’s good.

It is a year later and my daughter is playing well. Anje enjoys her classes and thinks Emily is a great instructor.

I strive to craft lessons which will give my students a wide base of skills on the violin, although we will be foremost concerned with having excellent technique and a great sound. Beyond that, I can teach you note reading, theory, composition/arranging, and improvisation. If you are interested in learning something other than classical violin, I also have extensive experience in bluegrass, old-time, and jazz fiddle, and can help you develop a unique voice on your instrument. Shoot me a message today to see if we'd be a good fit!

About Kyle

I am a professional violinist, violist, guitarist, pianist, composer, and educator. In addition to recording and touring with my own bands, I regularly arrange and record strings for artists and producers in a wide range of styles, from underground rappers to indie rock bands to grammy winning pop

I am an experienced classical viola teacher who has been teaching for 5 years from ages 5-16, beginner to advanced! I focus heavily on technique and foundations so the student has a well rounded music education and confidence in the viola that they can take with them forever. For beginners I use the Suzuki books, I Can Read Music series, String Builder series and Winning Rhythms. For more advanced violists I use the Introduction to the Positions series and etude books such as Wohlfahrt and Kreuzer.

About Jocelyn

My name is Jocelyn and I have been playing the violin and viola for 13 years and teaching for 5 years. I am principal viola of the Bryn Mawr-Haverford Orchestra and I also am part of a chamber music group. In high school, I was in the Maryland All-State Orchestra for four years and was in the Mary

With my own practice, I want to expand the horizons of music and where it can take me. Because of this, I plan to structure each of your lessons around growth and patience. Often the best way to improve is to gradually start with the root of your struggles and built from there.

Lessons:
***EXTRA VIOLA for in-person lessons*** Beginners who don’t have an instrument yet can use my 15’’ viola during their lesson. Typically that size would be played comfortably by a child, but if you have any questions please let me know.

For lessons at my home or in the community center, parents/guardians are welcome to sit in.

Adult beginners are also welcome!

Some examples of the things you may want to work on:
-performance skills/etiquette
-intonation
-strings methods
-bow work
-scales
-ensemble playing (quartet, orchestra, chamber, etc)
-practice tips

"As a former professional musician with an undergrad in Music, my standards are pretty high when I'm selecting musicians to teach my kids. My son has been taking viola lessons with Regina for 2.5 years. She is professional but also down-to-earth and great to work with. My son, now an 8th grader, played a level 1 solo at the District and State ISSMA contests and earned a Gold at both levels--the only kid in his school to do so. We credit Regina for appropriately pushing him to be his best. You can be assured that when you choose Regina, you're choosing one of the very best teachers around."

"Couldn't have asked for more!

We found Jessica through the Suzuki Association Directory. I was looking for a teacher that taught through the Suzuki method and she ended up being a perfect fit for my VERY energetic son. Patient, flexible (lessons in our home), laidback and even willing to drop by on her free time to fix a few broken strings and stray bridges
We could definitely hear my sons progress after each lesson...very pleased and would definitely recommend!!! :-)"

"I thought I wanted to take viola lessons. Then I read her website and I realized that she might be able to help me get my voice back! I thought there was no hope ever. She has been extremely generous with her time, and I haven't seen her yet, but I'm not buying the viola I was planning on buying. I play cello, and piano still, but I am going to see if she can help me with my voice. She sounds incredible. I never dreamed that I could even have HOPE like this!"
