I was trained on flute while studying jazz saxophone in college. Most of my applied experience with flute is performing solos. I will show you how to be a soloist whether you want to learn how to improvise or compete in solo competitions.
About Andrew
I have almost 20 years experience with saxophone. I started young and traveled as a student performing in competitions all over the country. I have done every type of music competition and studied in college where I received scholarships.

For beginner students lessons will focus on tone production, breath support, basic music theory and reading skills, rhythm, and technical development. Intermediate students will continue developing basic technical skills and music theory knowledge. They will begin applying their knowledge to standard repertoire. By focusing on musical context, students will begin to learn the more advanced concepts surrounding interpretation. Advanced students will continue to refine concepts and apply to more advanced repertoire. All students will work on achieving their individual goals whether they are playing for pleasure or working towards auditions.
I am an experienced music teacher and musician. I have been playing for thirteen years and teaching for nine. Lessons are catered to each individual's needs and goals for the lessons. Send me a message to see if I am a good fit for your needs!

I work with the student to develop a curriculum based on their musical interests and my own teaching pedagogy. I strongly feel that for young musicians to own their education, they must have a say in what they play. Assigning method books and mindless etudes to practice doesn't have nearly the same effect asking them "Ok, what kind of music do YOU like? What do you want to PLAY? What do you want to LEARN?".
I believe that students learn best when they are invested in a subject, and the best way to get them invested is to individually get to know each one, speak to them on their level, and get them playing music they're interested in.
About Jon
I'm a professional performer, educator, and recording artist. I received my Masters in Music from New Mexico State University, and my BA and BME from the College of Wooster in Ohio. Students can expect to improve their technique and performing repertoire within a matter of weeks. We will collabo

He will teach you how to make your practice time more productive, alternate fingerings to play more in tune, techniques to make note transitions easier, how to prepare new reeds for playing.... and on and on.
I had not played for a very long time. Dr Wen got me from there to where I was playing in a University Wind Ensemble, a quartet, and a community band. He also knew exactly where my saxophone needed to be adjusted to make it play better.
Dr Wen was my instructor for approximately 7 years. I learned a tremendous amount from him. You can’t do any better than Dr Andy Wen. He’s outstanding!
