I am a professional Guitarist, Bassist, Pianist and Music Instructor based out of Haddonfield, NJ. I have taught hundreds of students between ages 4 and 70 from beginner to advanced in all musical styles. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Music in 2007, and was trained by top-tier musicians in Jazz, Classical, Blues, Rock, RnB, Pop and even Broadway.

My teaching style is to first identify what music motivates students, and then to carve out a path for them in fundamental practice towards achieving their goals, while preparing them for performance-level playing. Along that path, other musical styles, famous musicians and examples of mastery are introduced to broaden student’s understanding of what is achievable and to motivate them towards a higher level on their instrument.

Tone, phrasing, and technique are what make up the bulk of the practice we will do.
My favorite composers I like to play are Bach, Andrew York, M. Castelnuovo-Tedesco, Mauro Giuliani, and Fernando Sor, but the door is always open to any repertoire you would like to bring in.

Students can expect a knowledge and theoretical based training in development of the classical guitar. Being able to play well with the knowledge of what they are doing.

David enjoys teaching students from all different backgrounds and levels of proficiency. Whether you are just starting out or a virtuoso shredder in the making, he is happy to teach you! Over all, he is fairly laid back, as long as you practice. He usually combines work with reading off of the treble clef (what he likens to "eating your vegetables." You may not want to do it, but it will make you a healthier musician!) with learning more popular songs (or songs the student says they would like to learn) through tablature and chord charts, depending on the style of the song.

David is also very pro music theory. He usually incorporates music theory into the curriculum in conjunction with the material already being discussed. He is also very knowledgeable about composition/songwriting, and if the student is interested in learning more about this area, he is happy to share what he knows!
