We find different methods and models to encourage the connection between understanding problems and developing solution-oriented mindsets. Students develop greater awareness, approach, and integration of algebra both for their classes as well as the use in practical "real time" (i.e. life application).

About Michelle
VOCAL COACH
Rehabilitating and strengthening voices are two of my top specialties, and each lesson will have specific exercises tailored to helping you transform your voice into the highest and best version of your instrument. I work with singers signed to labels as well as the indie artist just starting to find his/her voice, style, and signature sound. My coaching approach incorporates some of the newest technologies that have shown extraordinary results in breaking down the inner blocks of each artist. It is a tremendously joyful and fulfilling experience to watch as my students really let their instrument shine brightly, boldly, and with an aboslutely stunning groundedness as they discover how powerful they truly are.

MUSICIAN/SONGWRITER/PERFORMER

Poised, energized, and armed with unforgettable performance ability, Michelle G
. is a firework in the artistic arena. Her training began at the young age of 3 with the violin, and a few years later received classes for piano and voice. Excelling in all three, Michelle developed a very passionate and dramatic personality that eventually led her to more dramatic genres such as opera and stage acting. Her aptitude to understand human emotions and relationships gives her a wide spectrum to play in as an actress. There is an organic flow to her interpretations both as an actress and musician that leads the audience to feel her emotional current. Her honest characterizations introduce deeper perspectives on what seems like the ordinary roles and storylines. Amongst the many other leads that she has played, her participation in roles like “Susanna” in The Marriage of Figaro, or “Donna Elvira” in Don Giovanni embody much vibrancy and integrity.
Through the development of her voice as a singer and actress, she has crossed over into other media such as voice over commercial work and vocals for pop/main stream music productions. She has recently participated as a vocalist and violinist in the albums of artists such as international jazz pop artist David Longoria, Latin pop singer Erick Bolivar, Grammy-nominated percussionist Souhail Kaspar, and American Idol’s Seysha. Over the last few years she has unraveled her musical skills as a songwriter/composer/arranger and has even had some small victories acquiring music placements on TV shows (NCIS, short film “Sumtin’ Like Dat”, The Dictator) for herself and some of her colleagues. Her singing can also be heard on the hit tv show "Jane The Virgin", "Castle" and "Shameless" amongst others.

Education
Michelle completed her Associates of Arts for Music/Music Education at the age of 18, and got later graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Miami with a Bachelor's of Arts for Musical Theater and Music Business, as well as from Florida International University with a Master's of Music in Vocal Performance.

*** Lesson Details ***
I tailor my lessons to my student's needs, style, abilities, and goals. Learning is truly a fun and passionate adventure for me, and my enthusiasm has consistently been a contagious quality :) I love to challenge myself & my students to discover how immense their true potential is, and I create a safe and fun environment to explore such facets.

My curriculum is combination of solid tradition (Suzuki method for piano & violin, and Bel Canto technique for singing) interwoven with pop-culture, and modern influences. Within the first 3-6 months, my students will know the basic building blocks of music - which includes scales, arpeggios, triads, intervals, technique, and performance repertoire; and for my singers this will include proper breath technique, tone placement, support, very often increased vocal range (both high and low), and will feel significantly stronger vocally and more confident getting up to sing.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Full size Keyboard, mics, pro tools, Violin (electric, acoustic, and Chinese Ehru)

*** Specialties ***
Specialties include:
- Audition technique and prep

Mrs. Jen has been a violin teacher for our daughter for 3.5 years. She is an extremely qualified and talented musician who deeply cares about her students and is committed to teaching. She is kind and patient, but also effective and motivating. When our 8 year old daughter learned Mrs. Jen was moving she said, "I probably will never have as neat or special of a violin teacher as Mrs. Jen"- and she's right!

First lesson was fine. We took a few minutes to find each other in a cafe setting but as it was also a meet and greet session I wasn't too concerned about time. As it turns out Beth more than made up the time. She's very pleasant and easy to speak with. We went over my goals, simple traveler type words, phrases and questions, and a work schedule to cover the next several weeks. Beth told me how she was going to approach teaching me after listening to my goals. I'm looking forward to the next session where we can focus on learning the language.

Algebra is key to a student’s understanding of mathematics at higher levels. It is the grammar of mathematics, so I work with students to develop strong fundamentals and clear techniques in order to succeed in their algebra course and in future math courses.

About Peter
Hi! My name is Peter, and I'm a young musician living in Southside, Pittsburgh. I attended college at Georgetown University, where I majored in Mathematics and minored in Music. I spent 3 years working for the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, teaching all levels of mathematics up through Ordinary Differential Equations and Linear Algebra. My focus within music while at school was in Classical theory and composition, but I'm really into jazz, rock and roll, and the blues. I currently have a daytime job relating to mathematics, but in my spare time I write, record, and perform music as often as possible.

I've been a guitarist for about 11 years now, and mostly teach beginner to intermediate students. If you're just picking up the instrument, or have learned on and off for some time, then we would probably be a great match. I foc
us on teaching the basics of music as they relate to guitar, in order to establish good fundamentals and habits. I encourage students to write their own music while learning some of their favorite songs.

If you'd like to pursue guitar lessons or math tutoring with me, please contact me using the information provided. I look forward to hearing from you!

I made it through Calculus 3 in high school, and have always found a love for math. Since working on my career as a theatre artist, I've found I miss the simplicity of algebraic equations, with one correct answer. Let me help you study, and let's have some fun while we do it!

About Lily
New York is a HELLUVA town. And as I dance and sing my way around the city, I would love to impart my knowledge and experience to you too!

I've been dancing for nearly 20 years, singing for nearly 15, and have lots of experience taking those talents out into the real world. If you're looking for training in the DANCE world (ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, contemporary, theatre) or the VOCAL world (musical theatre, classical, pop/rock, or jazz) -- I'm the girl for you. I am spitfire, and a smart coach who simply loves to teach. Let's have some serious fun together, shall we?

Math has always been one of my favorite subjects. I was a physics major in college so algebra is one of my strong suits. My philosophy is that teachers should build a foundation of knowledge from the ground up, patiently and without judgement. Algebra is intuitive to me so I hope to provide intuitive explanations that will help you understand it! I specialize in teaching algebra I and algebra II.

About Wasila
I've always been fond of math. It was one of my best subjects. I studied theoretical physics at King's College London, and nowadays I'll review math for fun as crazy as that sounds! I'm open to teaching online or at my local library. If you're still wondering if we would be a good match, message me!
