It's no surprise that it's hard to learn an instrument as an adult. Apart from a semester of guitar lessons in college, I had no musical training and no understanding of music theory. All I knew was that I loved the sound of a cello, and I was graciously gifted one on my 28th birthday.

I am proud to say that I have been Rachel's cello student for over three years now. Since the beginning, Rachel has made sure that I felt comfortable during our lessons, and she remains reassuring even when I get discouraged with my bow hold or tight fingers.

Rachel has taught me a lot about music theory, but she's mostly taught me how to love my instrument. It has been amazing to see and hear the progress I've made, and she continues to give me more exciting challenges to practice each week. She's been attentive to my learning style and my ever-evolving cello goals, and I've been consistently impressed with how she's been able to keep our lessons interesting and fun over the years.

Rachel and I meet for an hour once a week and I look forward to every lesson! She has been the best instructor, and I look forward to many more lessons to come.

I am an adult who has no experience with any type of instrument and was very nervous and intimidated at first. Then I met with Michael, and though there was a ton of information we had to go through, he really made me feel at ease. He has the knowledge, patience, and understanding I was really looking for in a teacher and I'm so happy I found him!

Ellen is awesome. I am a total beginner and perfectionist so I don't tend to do well with learning something new in front of another person. I grow easily frustrated when I don't pick things up quickly and easily and get embarrassed when I make mistakes. Ellen makes the lessons super comfortable for me and I leave having learned something new every time. I have a LONG way to go but I can see where this can lead and plan to stick with it. She knows how to make music and an instrument make sense to someone with no background in music which is very helpful for me. I plan to stick with her for a long time!

I took 10 lessons with a different teach last summer and ended my package not being able to read sheet music or find my finger placement on the strings without second thought.

I have had just 3 lessons with Ellen thus far, and am reading sheet music like a wiz and gaining more and more confidence each lesson with my finger placement and now bowing.

Ellen has a wonderful system of teaching that truly makes everything she exposes you to stick, and has been getting me very excited to continue on knowing that I am in good hands and will progress quickly because of it. I will most definitely continue to see Ellen.

My 16 year old daughter has been taking lessons from Alex for two years. He's a very accomplished cellist with a strong background in all areas of playing the cello. He has been very patient with my daughter. He makes the lessons fun. Her skill level has steadily improved and can be directly attributed to lessons with Alex. Most importantly, he has helped her gain more confidence in her playing! I highly recommend him to anyone who wants to become a better cellist!

Daniel is so patient and easy to work with ~ he makes learning the cello seem so easy and natural and has so many practical ways of explaining an instrument I have no prior knowledge of. I had never played a stringed instrument but always loved the cello, so I was a bit nervous to begin. His gentle nature and patience have made me even more enthusiastic to learn.
