Learn to read and improvise on the piano... piano or keyboard with weighted keys are required!

About Jonathan
I started my musical education in a children'€™s choir at age 6.
When I turned 8 years old, I began piano lessons. I started violin
at 9 and trombone at 10. After studying numerous instruments I am now proficient on the piano, electric/acoustic bass, and guitar. Having completed my tour of duty in the U.S. Army, I am currently on the Dean'€™s list as a music/audio production major, and plan to continue my music education until I earn at least a masters in performance and composition. I started my teaching career at Milestones in Music, a local studio, as an independent contractor, and was able to gain valuable experience, and through my membership in the National Association for Music Education(NAfME) I was able to fine tune my curriculum. I am a former student member of the Grammy U Recording Academy, and have had opportunities to
work with, and learn from a lot of different musicians. (The Recording Academy is the organization that created the most prestigious
award in music, the Grammy). I am the band leader at my church Montco Bible Fellowship. I have experience as an audio tech in the studio and for a live stage, and have consulted for organizations looking to setup a sound system/studio. I enjoy recording my own music in my home studio, and learning to play new instruments. I hope to pass my love for music to the next generation!

*** Lesson Details ***
I am a very laid back instructor... as you will find out! I understand that not everyone learns at the same rate; however, I am a perfectionist and don't allow students to advance until they have learned a particular skill. I would rather a student take forever to learn a song, and practice it with good technique, than be able to play it right away with poor form and posture! I reinforce the value of working toward goals and celebrate with students when they reach them.  I understand that every student has different interests and reasons for wanting to learn an instrument... I try to focus on the areas that are of interest to the student, because a student who is enjoying themself will excel.  This does not mean that the subjects and skills that are not of interest will not be taught, because I also believe in being a well-rounded musician. I teach both jazz (theory/improvisation) and classical (composed) music.

*** Studio Equipment ***
My studio is currently not optimal for teaching... I hope to change this soon!!

*** Travel Equipment ***
I provide lesson books and other learning materials, but expect to be reimbursed. I expect the student to have their own instrument/equipment. Piano students are required to have a piano or a keyboard with 88 weighted keys (hammer-action), a piano bench and a pedal. Guitar/bass students must have an acoustic/electric guitar/bass with a strap or footstool, pick, and cable and amplifier if applicable! Digital audio students must have their own computer, Digital Audio workstation (software), digital audio interface, speakers/headphones and midi controller. ALL STUDENTS MUST PROVIDE A NOTEBOOK (college rule or staff)!!

*** Specialties ***
I specialize in classical and jazz piano! I am more than proficient at most production software including: reason, fl studio, ableton live... and other editing software such as sony sound forge, audacity, etc...

This 5 star review is long overdue. My daughter has been taking piano lessons from Jonathan for 2+ years, and we couldn’t be happier. Jonathan is an extremely knowledgeable musician, and his approach is a great mix of instruction, patience, and fun. It’s been an overwhelmingly positive experience.

I can start beginners and get them reading notes, with adults and more experienced musicians I teach theory and how to comp chords so you can learn to play songs you like hopefully sing them too!

About Scott
Hi! I'm Scott. I perform with a one-man band setup I created which utilizes a modified guitar and home-made foot pedals to control a drum set, while I sing on top of it all. I have a recording studio at home, and have performed with bands as a singer, guitarist, saxophonist, bassist, percussionist, and as a sound engineer. I've written, performed and recorded my own album which made it to the 2nd round of the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards, and was a voting member of the Philadelphia Chapter of the Grammy Committee and NARAS (National Association or the Recording Arts and Sciences.) I started piano lessons from age 5 and just kept picking up more instruments and gear as I got older and never stopped learning or enjoying it!

*** Lesson Details ***
I have been teaching Guitars, Basses, Percussion, Piano, Saxophone, Music Production, Re
cording, and Live Sound for 16 years.

I can teach you note-reading, tabs, ear training, music theory, composition, improvisation in just about any style of music.

Working with people writing songs is something I enjoy thoroughly; I can help you write and record your own songs. A computer and internet access are preferred to take full advantage of the technology for learning and producing music.

Knowledgeable in Instrument repair, set-up, and maintenance, I can help you fix it, and how to spot a good instrument.

Patient and experienced, with a broad knowledge of music in most areas, I can give you hundreds of good references from previous students I've taught over the years

*** Studio Equipment ***

Guitars, basses, percussion and drum sets, a piano, saxophones, hand drums, a 20-track digital recording studio with monitors that are equalized to the room's acoustics for accurate listening and mixing, plus an assortment of microphones, amps, mic stands, cables, and connectors.

From the moment I had my phone interview with Paul, I knew he was the right instructor for my son. We met for a trial lesson and sure enough he was exactly what we were looking for. My 12 yr. old has just excelerated in his music reading skills that I could not teach him on my own having started him on the keyboard myself since he was seven but was not successful. Paul is not afraid to stretch him and communicate to him in a way that he pleasantly receives along with weaving music history teaching continuously throughout the lesson. Right out of the gate his technique was addressed and the foundation was set up front and my son has an obvious, beautiful, step above, touch. Very grateful!

My students will learn basic piano instruction, music theory, chords and scales, rymthem and dynamics, and to express themselves thru music of there choice. Mrs G's Piano students all earn points for there practice time, lessons, duets, recitals, memorization and use those points to compete against themselves and earn prizes. Two recitals are held a year to promote confidence and accountability. I prefer the Alfred series for teaching piano lessons on my digital piano because it is fun and easy to learn with quick results. All the student needs to do is practice.

About Brenda
I'm very passionate about the benefits of piano lessons and do my best to make it fun and exciting and rewarding. You will learn on my digital piano with weekly lessons and expectation of you practicing every day for at least 20 minutes. Points are given for your accomplishments with prizes for all at the end of the month. Holiday and fun music is learned along with Two recitals a year should you choose to participate. Expression and enthusiasm, and building confidence is what I'm all about. I'm friendly and outgoing, and allow flexibility in my schedule to reschedule lessons if we must. So come and let your light shine with me!

My daughter has been taking lessons for 9 months and just did a 4 page duet with Mrs. 'G " at a recital. She is very energetic; she encourages and gives awards which the young kids respond to; sometimes her cat comes to listen. No pressure and the kids can pick some of the advance books of songs they like. We go in person but she is now open to Face Time lessons. She is also very flexible for sick days; snow days, and the typical crazy kid activity schedule. If you like personal, friendly postitive energy...Mrs. "G" is your teacher!

I am a college level jazz musician.
My primary instruments are jazz guitar and upright bass.
Growing up I have always wanted to sing but never could find a qualified teacher.

Luckily, after extensive research online for vocal teachers I discovered Kara.
I have been taking lessons with her for a while now and she's wonderful.
I always have many questions for her in my lessons and she always has a knowledgable response.

I feel like I'm progressing and finally learning how to sing properly with someone who knows their stuff.

I would highly recommend studying with her.

I have been teaching piano for 40 years. My teaching style is specially geared to each individual student of any age. I keep the lessons interesting and appropriate to the ability of the student. Lessons include learning correct use of posture, fingers, hands, learning to read notes, use of timing, scales, chords, discipline of practice, and the pleasure of playing the piano. Teaching piano and watching a student progress has been a passion of mine for a very long time.

About Gail
Hello to all potential students. I have been teaching piano for 42 years. This has been a truly rewarding experience for me over the years. I studied piano beginning at eight years, old enjoying many different types of music. I excelled because of my dedication and love of piano. I did go to college for music and have been teaching piano ever since.

I enjoy all types of students from beginners to intermediate, trying to keep the lessons interesting and designed for each individual students' need. For beginners, we will learn how to read notes, keep time/rhythm, use of positioning and correct use of posture, and the many facets of reading and loving music. It is also important to learn the discipline of practice and learn the love of playing this beautiful instrument. For students who have some knowledge of music and/or piano
, we will find where you are at and go on from there.

I continue my love of music by accompanying for a choral group for 40 years and directing/designing musical shows. Music is a wonderful gift and piano is a great choice.

If you are looking for a knowledgeable, experienced, and (very) patient piano teacher, look no further. As an adult learner....with absolutely NO piano playing experience...I can honestly say that Gail started from where I was, and we gradually moved forward from there. Lessons are always fun, and light-hearted, in a serious kind of way.

Honestly...if I can get from, "Which one is middle C?" to Chopin, with Gail as my piano teacher, she must be good (did I mention VERY patient?).

Dynamic and modern approach based on years of experience in the field of classical music. Countries I have performed in include Taiwan, France, Portugal, and the United States. I cater to students from those who are serious, career-oriented to those who just want to play the piano for fun!

About Tzu-Hwa
Dr. Tzu-Hwa Ho began playing the piano at the age of four. At fourteen, she made her concerto debut in the City Hall of Salerno, Italy, and at sixteen, she gave her first solo recital in Taipei (Taiwan). During the junior year in college, she moved from Taiwan to the United States as one of only two exchange students selected to the United States from the National Taiwan Normal University. She studied piano with, chronologically, Alexander Sung, Alla Voskoboynikova, Alan Chow, and Jack Winerock; collboartive piano with Elizabeth Buccheri and Alan Darling. She has performed in international festivals such as Festival Pablo Casals (France), Conservatoire Américain de Fontainebleau (France), the Dartington International Summer Music School (England), and the International Piano Seminar in Obidos (Portugal). At these festivals, she had the op
portunity to study with highly sought after piano pedagogues and concert pianists such as Philippe Bianconi, Jay Gottlieb, Philippe Entremont, Boris Berman, and Luiz de Moura Castro.

Dr. Ho currently resides in Bethlehem. Prior to moving to Bethlehem she lived in Philadelphia, where she was a faculty member for Settlement Music School, the rehearsal pianist and staff accompanist for Gleeksman-Kohn Children’s Choir and Thomas Jefferson University Choir.

Dr. Ho is a recipient of Presser Foundation Scholarship. She has Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from University of Missouri in St. Louis, Master of Music in Piano Performance from Northwestern University, and Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance from University of Kansas.

Mrs. Ho is the best teacher I have ever had. I am in my 60s and I have had many years of experience working with several teachers, some were good, but never to the level of Mrs. Ho.
She is a professional and high level concert pianist, who is also a fantastic pedagogue, not to mention she is also patient and super nice.
