Bo, a soprano, is currently a DMA student at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, did Master's degree at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA. Her performance experiences include opera performances, the major role "Alice" of Verdi's opera Falstaff at University of Illinois-Champaign, the main role"Lauretta" in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi, Suor Angelica, singing in Duquesne University’s Aria Night, Night of Broadway and Cabaret Favorites, and Scene Night.

As a native of China, she completed her undergraduate at the Shenyang Conservatory of Music in Shenyang, China. Her performances in China include performances with the Shenyang Conservatory of Music and the Luxun Academy of Fine Arts. Bo also took part in making the recordings for Ma Kai’s “Motherland Is In My Heart”. In the summer of 2011, Bo traveled to Rome, Italy, to study and
perform at Duquesne University’s Rome campus, successfully completing their Lirica Roma program.

Bo has had numerous success teaching students of all ages. Whether they aspire to become professionals or just singing as a hobby, her teaching techniques are adaptive to each individual student’s needs. She is also offering reading, speaking, and writing tutoring in Mandarin Chinese.

As a voice teacher, I believe that my job is to allow the students to discover their own unique characteristics. I like to teach in an relaxed environment where the student will be able to develop a healthy (learning bad techniques can be harmful to the throat and body) strong techniques. It is important for the students to learn their own bodies and limit, while being taught to use their bodies to help produce beautiful singing.

Singing is more than just about using their voice and achieving proper technique.. It is equally important to learn the music history, theory, acting, etc. appropriate to the piece they are working on. When everything comes together with proper singing and the correct knowledge, students will be able to perform a piece in an intelligent manner.

Finally, something I have learned from my previous teachers, it is important to go beyond being just a teacher, and become a role-model and a mentor to my students.

I am a pianist and singer who started learning to play the piano at age 6, and I love teaching all students of all experience levels. Growing up I competed and placed highly in many competitions including playing with the Symphony Orchestra in my home town of Spartanburg, SC after winning it's concerto competition at the age of 17. In college I took piano from Dr. Charles Fugo at the University of South Carolina and also started taking voice lessons from Tonya Currier and Walter Cuttino. While still in college I worked with The South Carolina Opera company for a season as a member of the ensemble and as Chorus Master.
Professionally, I have worked with different theater and opera companies as a lead actor and as a musician. I have also worked in many different church positions as a musician and singer.

*** Lesson Details ***
I have experience teaching since 1995 while I was still in college. I primarily use Alfred and "Faber & Faber" piano methods for beginners. I teach how to read music, understand the theory behind the music, and the technique needed in a patient atmosphere at the pace of the student. I also teach you how the piano works and the different types of pianos as well as the history of keyboards used for different classical music. The lessons are geared toward the goals of the student no matter what level is desired.
In teaching singing, I will teach you the basics necessary to create a healthy and relaxed sound through technique. With experience singing music ranging from classical to contemporary church music to musical theater, I can teach you how to use the voice in a way that will promote a long time of singing without adding stress to the voice. I will work with any style of music and will give you the technique and confidence needed to become a better singer.

In my home studio is a piano and books with big windows to look out. Pianos are an upright piano and an Alesis Synthesiser. Seating is available for parents as well.

Hello there! Do you or your loved ones have an interest in music? So do I! That is why I am here to teach and share my own passion for music. I love working with children and have two boys of my own. I love teaching music and instil passion for learning into every one of my students.

Having grown up in a musical family with my mother a professional violinist, I have been exposed to the joys of music since childhood. I learned how to play Suzuki piano at the age of three, and later percussion and string instruments from when I was six years old. In high school I joined the band playing flute. I loved playing flute and piccolo so much that I decided to take this as my career and went to Interlochen Arts Academy where I excelled in my performance. I later went to Prague Conservatory and Czech Budweiss Conservatory and played with the
Prague Film Orchestra. Even more recently I have been a teacher for the Flutes and Strings classes at Unison World School in Dehradun, India.

I have enjoyed having a very successful studio here in Tampa, and hope to enrich your life with music soon!

*** Lesson Details ***
My approach to teaching varies with the age level of each student. With younger students, imitation is often one of the best methods of learning and I prefer the Suzuki method for students up to age 8, especially with strings. For older children and adults, learning music notation and basic music theory for a full understanding of musical language are more important to get them to the level where they can learn any music that they want to play for fun. For students who wish to excel in their school band, a more practical approach with technique specific warm-ups and exercises seems to be the best in general.

*** Studio Equipment ***
The In-Studio lessons are taught in the living room which includes music stands, sheet music, whiteboard, video recording equipment and microphone, and seating for parents/students. No pets. Parking in driveway. Siblings are welcome.

I will provide metronome, and tools for minor instrument repair. Students should provide their own music stands and sheet music.

My son has been taking violin lessons with Hallie for almost one year. He started just after he turned 4. My concern when he started was that he was too young but Hallie has obviously taught kids his age before and knows what she is doing. She is creative in order to keep a four year old interested and engaged. She is also warm and positive. Most importantly, he's really learning how to play and about music in general - it is a wonderful feeling when he makes strides and does something that seemed so out-of-reach before.

I provide professional, knowledgeable, and individualized instruction in a supportive and encouraging environment. During the course of study with me, I expect voice students will improve vocal technique and sound quality, alleviate physical tension which may be interfering with phonation, expand their range, learn new repertoire, increase confidence, and grow as performing artists.
My vocal teaching method focuses on correct breathing and resonance; I also incorporate some activities from Barry Green's "Inner Game of Music" technique. Although my teaching is grounded in a scientific approach to the process of phonation, I also believe singing should be a fun experience for the student. We sing to communicate! I believe that a thorough technical foundation is necessary for free and healthy singing in any genre of music. I am willing to work with students in the vocal styles that interest them most; although my professional performance experience is in opera and musical theatre, I have also successfully worked with students whose interests included jazz, pop, rock, folk music, contemporary Christian music, and choral singing.
My piano pedagogical method matches each student with the right curriculum-- Alfred, Schaum, or Piano Adventures-- plus supplemental technical exercises such as scales, arpeggios, and Czerny and Hanon exercises. What I DIDN'T Know

Emily is an awesome coach and instructor. Yes I said coach! A coach actually encourages you, and that is what she did for me. Anyway, as for the title, "What I DIDN'T Know", there were things in film auditions that I didn't know that would were actually sabotaging my chances for auditions. Emily worked on these real quick and fixed them up.Long story short, I had an audition yesterday, and using Emily's lessons's the casting director said, "Wow, that was actually really good"

Amanda is a professional Pittsburgh-area flutist and private teacher. She has served as principal flutist with the Pittsburgh Philharmonic as well as second flute/piccolo with the Undercroft Opera. My name is Perry and I am a professional classical, flamenco and electric guitarist performing and recording in the Dallas area. I studied with Robert Guthrie at SMU for many years, as well as Brad McLemore of "Soul Food Cafe" and professional jazz musician Chuck Pangburn at Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. In addition, I have taken masterclasses w/ many professional guitarists in all styles such as the flamenco guitarist Miguel Antonio.

I am familiar with all styles. I teach using a foundation in classical/flamenco style and technique. I have found that for my own career as a recording artist in both the classical, acoustic and electric guitar fields that the classical/flamenco styles are the most useful for developing and training the hands to become a consummate professional.

I also can provide pro and amateur electric guitarists an in-depth study of correct hand postures and left-hand/right-hand technique which can help to refine their overall technique and stylistic approach. I can also advise professional electric guitarists on their electronics, effects pedals, and amplifiers to achieve their own individual sound. I also teach Bass, and reading the Bass clef.

My teaching specialties include: Solfeggio, Sight Reading, Music Theory, Scales and Modes, Left and Right Hand Technique, Blues Progressions, Jazz Standards the Classical Repertoire, Flamenco styles, techniques and repertoire, and the works of Sor, Giuliani, and Carcassi, Brouwer, Aguado, Villa-Lobos, Sabicas and Paco de Lucia.

I have an in-depth knowledge of the stylistic approaches and techniques of such guitarists as Eric Johnson, Jeff Beck, Joe Satriani, Randy Rhoads, Jimi Hendrix, Robert Fripp, Adrian Belew, and SRV to name a few, and I can teach you the components they use to build their signature licks.

As a rule I only transcribe to give the students examples for lessons. I intend for all of my students to grow as musicians, so my lessons do not consist solely of transcribed solos and riffs.

I have a vast library of music, so I can draw from my own resources to teach you, or from a method of your choosing.

My schedule has a few openings right now. I do teach outside of my stated teaching radius, but ONLY at the 60 minute rate.

I teach people of all ages, from children to adults. I believe everyone is on an even keel, if they are willing and eager to learn.

I've been playing guitar for 25 years, and this has given me the time to study, perform, and perfect many styles of guitar playing.

I studied classical and flamenco guitar with Robert Guthrie for 4 years before and after my studies in the SMU program. I've also played in jazz and rock ensembles since the age of 14. I studied with Chuck Pangburn, pro jazz cat, and Brad McLemore, an indie rock songwriter, early on in my studies as an adolescent.

I encourage most students to learn to play on a classical or nylon-string guitar early on in order to develop proper technique, posture, sensitivity, and sensibility. I also encourage all students to learn to sight-read at a very early point in their studies. Once, this hurdle is cleared many other challenges are easily surpassed.

Presently, I am developing a new method which incorporates solfeggio, blues and popular music forms, and improvisational playing. I also am exploring the vanguard of new guitar technology such as the Moog Guitar, analog effects, and various guitar synthesizers.

I try to introduce an understanding of music theory early on so that students develop a full comprehension of not only the written language of music, but also the sonic-aural language of music.

Perry takes the time to explain flamenco and related styles deeply and thoroughly. He also provides detailed micro-scale feedback on hand/arm placement, orientation, range and which muscle groups to engage. But more than the technical, he has an awesome vibe and makes learning guitar quite an enjoyable experience.

Excellent Guitar Teacher

Within a month of lessons with Perry, my daughter was in love with the guitar! Perry is professional and great with kids! He couples the basics with discourse about genre, and is very encouraging! Jesica takes the time to prepare my instument with tape makings and handwrites lessons for me to take home. Plus im playing 5 different scales after only two sessions with her. She also is starting to teach me the basics on how to read music. I couldnt ask for a better teacher to start me on the fundamentals of the upright bass. Very pleased so far and look foward to every lesson.

I was satisfied with the lesson. I wasn't noticing that Jessica had 2 E-Mails 'till the next day when I checked my PC. She said that she could be at at the bus stop when I got off the bus yesterday. That was alright anyway; I was a little bit early But she said that it was alright. Buses ether are early or late. (some times they don't show-up at all; I call the bus company several years ago & why it happened that way. They told me that they don't have time to look for another person to drive the bus & the guy calls up & he just wouldn't be there that day. Any was I liked the lesson & Jessica lives close to the 71C were I live. It was a short ride from my place were I live. It as a good lesson.

Hi! I am a classically trained pianist originally from Syracuse, NY. I graduated from Allegheny College in Meadville, PA where I studied piano under Professor Alec Chien. I also enjoyed playing the French horn and percussion with the Allegheny Wind Symphony and Wind Ensemble.

I have performed numerous piano solo recitals, as a featured pianist with the Allegheny Wind Ensemble, in piano duos, a piano quartet, small instrumental groups and in the pit orchestra for musical productions. I like to use the Bastien or Alfred piano methods. Students will be engaged and excited with the progress they make. For the younger students 5-7 I prefer the Bastien method which includes 2 books: lesson book and theory/technique book. For young students 8 and up the Bastien method includes 4 books: lesson, Theory, Technique and Performance/Solo. For adults I use the Alfred's Basic All-in-One Piano Course. Once students are ready I incorporate chord progressions, scales, sight reading and ear training into the lessons. Each lesson builds on the concepts and skills learned in prior lessons. I provide an opportunity for students to perform in a recital twice a year to show family and friends their progress.

I put great importance on proper technique right from the start. Poor technique can frustrate a student and therefore hinder their enjoyment and sense of accomplishment.

Lessons incorporate things that appeal to different learning styles. For example, a visual learner may really enjoy the flashcards to help learn the notes on the staff. For an audible learner they may look forward to hearing me play a new musical passage for him/her before talking about it. Finally, clapping a rhythm before playing it can really benefit the kinesthetic learner.

Patti was a wonderful teacher for my daughter. They seemed to hit it off right away. She was very helpful with my daughter's strengths and was willing to give her some help with things she was not as strong in. We could not have chosen a better teacher!

My young son and daughter have taken lessons with Patti for nearly a year now. I could not be more pleased with her. Not only is she very professional and friendly (on top of being a very talented pianist), but she has tailored my childrens' lessons to fit their needs and interest so well! My children are fairly young, 5 and 7, and it can be difficult keeping them engaged in the early stages of learning. She has been able to make it fun for them but also keep them disciplined and focused when she has to as well. She is always on time and has great communication about scheduling and my childrens' progress. We are very happy to have found her!

My two girls started taking piano lessons in Kindergarten and were very excited to learn. That enthusiasm didn't last long when teacher after teacher showed irritation and a lack of patience with young learners. We went through SIX teachers and were asked by friends why we continued our search for the RIGHT teacher. I knew the girls wanted to play and the problem wasn't that they were children, the problem was finding that teacher who had great patience, an even temper, and one who could move students through those periods of tough times. We found THAT teacher in Ms. Patty!!!!! We have been with her now for two years. The girls are practicing now for their fourth recital and absolutely love playing. They have learned so much more than piano. They have learned patience by example...... Ms. Patty is the best ever!!!!!! <3

I have more than 30 years of musical experience. I’ve taught guitar, piano, bass, and theater in private schools, art schools and I’m currently teaching at Classic Axe Guitar Gallery in Gainesville, VA. I’ve taught over 250 students in all levels of experience, tailoring each lesson to fit each student, covering all genres, so that learning their instrument is fun. It’s been exciting to see some of them become music majors, some of them become performers, and some using their skills and gifts to teach others. I love teaching and sharing my musical knowledge with people of ALL ages. I believe anyone can learn music, with the right approach and encouragement. Nothing gives me more pleasure than watching my students accomplish more than they ever dreamed possible.

About Miah
Jeremiah “Miah” Palmer is a professional drummer originally from the San Francisco East Bay area. Having started his percussion instruction in elementary school at age 9, he proceeded through junior and high schools playing in the concert, symphonic, jazz, and marching bands.
At age 15 he joined his first rock band, which he played with through the rest of high school. At 19 he joined the US Army, and throughout his service, he continued to play professional gigs and record around central Texas while not deployed. After the Army he moved to Michigan to pursue music playing live gigs and recording drums for jingles for radio commercials.
He decided to move to Los Angeles in 2003 to study at the M.I. (Musicians Institute). Shortly after, he cofounded the metal band P.D.P. with Greg Harrison. In 2006, he accepted a position with The Van-De
lls and had to move to Nashville, Tennessee. After returning in 2007, having received his Journeyman and Professional certificates in percussion from M.I. he was hired on in 2007 as a classroom drummer and later an LPW (Live Playing Workshop) instructor, all the while playing gigs with local bands and working doing recording sessions. Since then, he has played with many local LA bands.
Currently he is gigging, teaching, and recording in the LA area.
