Piano is the perfect instrument for understanding how music works. Learn to read and play melodies, scales, chords, and put them together into songs as quickly as possible. Techniques for strength and coordination, reading music, and theory.
Lay a solid foundation to develop your musical creativity.

About Aaron
Teaching drums professionally since 1998, Aaron has influenced hundreds of budding musicians to get the most from their instrument. He has studied privately with Rob Laytham (Modern Drummer columnist), Joe Leroux (marching band guru), Gary Chaffe (legendary drummer) and many others throughout the years. He has taken the best techniques and teaching styles from his influences and molded them together to form what he considers to be the most effective and inspiring method available.

I teach drum set in nearly every style and hybrid imaginable, as well as percussion and drum circle facilitation.

Accomplishments include recording 7 albums with various groups, touring with national acts across the west coast, drumming for the Warner Brothers Television house band, and still actively playing live shows and recording.

*** Lesson Deta
ils ***
I put my focus on inspiring students to explore their own creativity with the tools and techniques that I give to them and nurture.
I think it is very important to cover the basic skills that the school districts expect from their music students (sight reading, proper technique, note recognition, rudiments, timing, feel, etc.).
I also feel it is important for a student to find his or her style and an ability to use the fundamentals to create music that they enjoy.
He has written a method book based on the fundamentals of playing a rhythmic instrument with an emphasis on allowing the student to find their niche and lead a group through a piece of music or tastefully support it.

My studios are fully equipped with sound systems, the latest recording gear, acoustic and electric sets, hand drums and dozens of other percussion instruments. I believe that the more resources a person can draw from, be it intellectual or physical, the more fulfilling the learning experience will be.

Each lesson, my students will take at least a page of music that represents the concept that they are focusing on, and a goal set to accomplish by the end of the week so that they can build upon what they already know in an effort to put the big picture together. Ultimately the student will learn when and how to utilize the concepts that they are practicing.

*** Studio Equipment ***
A Yamaha electronic drum set in my Mesa Studio allows me to control volume and dial up any sound imaginable. I have full acoustic drum sets in other studios that I use for recording and private lessons. Often I will integrate guitar, keyboard, or other instruments in to the lessons if needed.

*** Travel Equipment ***
Sticks, Practice Pad, tuning kit, binder and books with teaching supplements.

*** Specialties ***
Music, Drums, Percussion, Theory, Composition, Piano and Guitar.
Drummers should be well versed in all genres of music. Rock, Jazz, Latin, Swing, etc.
Most of my students begin with concert and marching styles on a practice pad, then advance to the drum set.
I teach note recognition and placement, rudiments, linear playing, moeller method, rhythm theory, sub-division of notes and time, and the sight-reading to support these techniques.

Alfred method used. I teach Beginners to Intermediate level.

About Laura
I teach voice, piano and guitar. My Music Degree from Point Loma Nazarene University is in Vocal Performance. I love what I do. I teach children through adults. I have lots of experience in worship
leading for church if that is of interest.

*** Lesson Details ***
I am easy-going, but I expect you to practice. I am thorough in my approach. For piano lessons, I utilize the Alfred method. I emphasize note reading and theory in each genre, whether taking guitar, voice or piano. I am currently using Hal Leonard's Guitar Method books for guitar and a few different things for vocal curriculum. All lessons can be supplemented with what you are currently interested in or working towards. I enjoy helping prepare young people for their performances in theatre arts. Lessons can be combined, for example; if you are interested in both voice and
guitar, you can take a longer weekly lesson and have both subjects covered! Weekly assignments are given and checked to see if done before proceeding to the next step! I do not recommend students come every other week. I recommend one lesson per week.

*** Travel Equipment ***
guitar and books. Student provides their guitar during lesson and for piano, must have a piano or keyboard at home for practice.

*** Specialties ***
I specialize in helping young worship leaders hone their gifts. I enjoy preparing people for their musical theatre performances.

My son is having a wonderful experience taking lessons online with Laura. She has an exceptional knowledge of music and is able to share this knowledge in a way that is easily understood. I value her positive feedback, timeliness, and consistency. She takes interest in the student and works to draw out their passion for playing the instrument. As a parent, I would highly recommend hiring Laura.

I will be upfront that I am not a virtuoso piano player; I took piano lessons in college and private lessons for a few years. I would not feel comfortable with very advanced students, but I can teach most beginners for about 2-3 years before they're ready to move on to a more specialized teacher.

About Emilio
Music is what gets me out of bed in the morning. I've been studying and experimenting with music since I was a toddler and I have been teaching people to play music and use music technology for over 10 years.

My goal as a teacher is to get you to the point of not needing a teacher. I want you to be able to figure out any kind of music you want to make! But, I also realize that getting to that point takes a long time and a lot of patient, thoughtful instruction. I have been lucky enough to study with some really amazing people over the years and I want to be able to give that same experience to other people.

After understanding a student's level and what their interests with piano are, I help the student pick a song or a piece to use for lessons that is according to those interests. After a student gains a good understanding of playing a song or a piece, I like to go over ways to change the dynamics (rhythm and note alterations) of the music to explore other kinds of expression through the piano. With this approach, my students may learn to bring logic (technique, scales, theory) and feeling (how the music is played) together. It is also a great introduction to improvisation.

I go over improvisation with students, if desired. This includes such concepts as playing comfortably with both hands, creating melodies, exploring the use of various scales and voice leading. Lastly, if desired, I can include singing in the lessons!

About Andrew
*In order to avoid an awkward schedule, I have limited my availability to a few evenings during the week. However, I am open to working another time that may work best for you.*

I have experience working with people individually and in groups, as an undergrad Psychology intern, a cognitive skills trainer, a counseling student, an adjunct instructor and an academic coach. As an undergrad intern, I worked with elementary school children as a tutor and a mentor. As a counseling student, I have worked with various populations, from grade school students (grades 4-8; making healthier choices) to adults (stress, anxiety, career decisions, bereavement, etc.) to older adults in hospice care. I have facilitated psycho-educational groups with individuals suffering from a mental illness as well. Lastly, I worked with college students at a local u
niversity as an academic coach. In this role, I helped students process concerns and create goals regarding developing time management skills, coping strategies for anxiety, study skills, information processing and motivation. These experiences have helped me gain a continually growing understanding of facilitating the learning process with individuals and with groups.

I teach student development classes (critical thinking, motivation theory, study strategies, time management, stress management, etc.) at a local community college, I teach an upper-level educational psychology course (views of learning, motivation, the memory process, memory strategies, critical issues in education, etc.) at a local university, and I work as an academic coach at another local university.

As the information above may suggest, I hold education to such a high, passionate regard. It is what promotes a healthy, well-informed society. As an auto-didactic learner, I believe that everyone has the ability to learn anything one desires. It is a matter of how one approaches it. Therefore, my approach is one that is peculiar to each of the individuals I work with.

I present concepts with the idea that the combination of experience, discourse, and meaning-making is the key to learning. This aside from my teaching tools based on the views of learning. With an aversion towards cookie-cutter approaches, I maintain an open mind to my invariably evolving approach of sharing knowledge and insight with others. This comes with my continual seeking of growth in the art of teaching with consideration of the process of learning. Further, I strive to create a warm, positive atmosphere that allows one to feel comfortable with making mistakes, with making progress and with being themselves. Fundamentally, this is my approach to working with people.

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT COACHING: Using my insight gained as a counseling student, I am happy to offer my personal development coaching service. In this role, I help individuals develop their path of change, making sure motivation and focus is well-maintained. I provide a judgment-free and understanding atmosphere for one to reflect and process concerns as well as work towards making personal changes (e.g. self-actualization, career, anxiety management, lifestyle, life changes) from an existential perspective. I believe that such a space should be available for everyone, so I am especially happy to provide it.

My approach to personal development coaching is based on my therapeutic orientation called Gestalt Therapy (GT). The underlying idea of GT is that awareness is the key initiator of change. Awareness allows one to discern where such things as anxiety, unhappiness, ambivalence, etc. stem from. I believe that it is important for every human being to go through such a process so that peace and awareness within brings peace and awareness to the outer world. I am inspired by and influenced by the ideas of Carl Jung (Analytical Psychology- particularly the Psychological Types) and Carl Rogers (Client-Centered Therapy). I help facilitate the process in a genuinely humane, empathic and professional manner. If interested, please, see the details I have provided under Life Coaching. I work with grade school students and adults. I am absolutely loyal to the idea of confidentiality; therefore, I ensure that information of anybody I work with is not at risk of being shared with a third party.

ACADEMIC COACHING/STUDY SKILLS: Using my passion for education and my insight gained in my few years (so far) immersed in the world of education, I help students (grade school and college) develop areas of their academic life needing improvement. As suggested above, I help students develop time management, learning strategies, coping strategies for anxiety, and motivation (i.e. help them to see the value of learning). Though it is a valuable tool, it is presently not a service that is offered at most schools in the area.

WRITING: As a lover of reading and writing, I understand the value of expressing thoughts, feelings and ideas. As a writer, my focus is on creative writing (mostly short stories presently) and essays. Given my undergraduate and postgraduate experiences, I have written many academic papers, in APA format and in MLA format. I edit and revise papers as well as help individuals develop their writing voice, develop their ideas, develop an approach to structuring writing, maintain consistency with writing and provide genuine feedback. Beyond that, my help with writing is limited to the goals of the the individual.

TWO IMPORTANT THINGS: I strive to maintain a positive collaboration with those I work with. I believe this is one of the most important parts of the process. Also, I promote the idea of Soul. To me, Soul is any sincere display of passion. With Soul, we perform in a most genuine and graceful way. I personally believe that whether one is playing the piano, writing a story, living life, singing, giving a speech or anything (necessarily peaceful), one should do it with Soul.

LASTLY, I am open to: Going beyond my travel radius, at an agreed-upon adjusted rate; working with multiple students, at an agreed-upon adjusted rate; meeting at a public place that is convenient, if it is preferred; and meeting at a student's location, depending on the preferred time and the distance.

I mentioned everything that is above so that it may be known and understood. Feel free to send me a message if you have questions about any of the services I provide, my approach or anything!

PEACE BE WITHIN YOU

I've been teaching Piano for 10 years now. Within the first few lessons, you'll be able to identify the notes of the piano and be able to play many easy songs. And as time goes on you'll be able to play more complex songs with both hands. I specialize in Classical, Church and Broadway, typically use Faber and Faber for kids and Alfred books for adults. I love working with students of all ages and experience levels and I can't wait to meet you!

Christine has helped students of all ages pursue their love of music and develop their skills and education for many years. She loves teaching students in all music styles and finds that relating to them with the music that they love and incorporate it into what they are learning helps them understand and appreciate what they're learning even more.

Christine received a degree in Honors Vocal Performance in 2005. As an expert in her field, Christine looks forward to helping new students achieve their goals.Christine's teaching style is fun, educational and stress-free. Motivation is crucial and excellence is preferred. That's why in the studio I'll mix up music fundamentals with songs each student enjoys to keep learning fun and motivation high.

In addition, beginner students will be taught note names, fundamental rhythms, and how to sight read. Students will then progress to classic piano literature, supplemented with scales, technique, and music theory. Favorite student songs ranging from hymns to pop and praise & worship can also be incorporated.

I look forward to seeing you succeed!

About Anna
Hi there! I'm Anna, and I'm looking forward to meeting you. I've been offering private piano lessons since 2009 and offer foundations in music theory, technique, sight-reading and classic piano repertoire.

I begin most students in Faber method books, before branching into classical repertoire including selections from Baroque, Classical, Romantic and Contemporary time periods. My teaching style is flexible though, so I'll be happy to adapt to your individual liking and needs.

In 2012 I graduated from Thomas Edison State College with a degree in music and in 2017 I completed my Master's in Education from Post University. Today I enjoy teaching music to students ranging from six years old through adult.

I believe quality practice and motivation are key to success, and I'm looking forward to helping you succeed!

Anna is an extremely knowledgeable and skilled musician, which inspires her students to want to excel themselves! My 7year old son has been taking lessons from Anna for about 2 years. He is excited to go to his lesson each week! Although my son struggles with some dyslexia, Anna is extremely patient with him and makes him feel like he is valuable and capable. She has adjusted the method and curriculum to find something that works well for him. She carefully explains the lessons, makes my son feel so special, and inspires him to want to learn.

I have been playing piano since I was 6 years old! I love to work with beginner students and give them the tools to be a great piano musician. I focus on proper technique, basic music theory, and a wide variety of repetoire, all while having fun together! I cant wait to help you learn to play.

I typically begin students on the Alfred Music Library, and then move to more classical repetoire, supplementing with pieces or genres that the student has interest in!

Typical lessons will include warm ups (scales, arpeggios, other techniques to warm up the fingers), working on repetoire (may include folk songs, broadway/disney, pop, worship), music theory (note and rest values, key and time signatures, interval recognition, ear training, note recognition, etc.)

Materials that students will need are a piano/keyboard of their own, two lesson/recital books recommended by me, and a theory book.

** If students are online, they will need a way of setting up their webcam/phone in order ...

Experienced teacher of five years, specializing in beginner-intermediate-and advanced lessons! I believe it is crucial to teach students the foundational principals upon which all piano technique is built and how to practice effectively and without pain.
Piano lessons should serve two purposes in my opinion: One is for them to be fun and interesting. Without this, people lose interest. Second purpose is to learn skills that can be transferred into any subject. Skills such as problem solving, dedication, and work ethic. My goal is to not simply teach piano, but rather give students the tools to navigate any problem that may arise in piano, or in life.

About Brandon
Brandon was born in Greensburg Pennsylvania, and began his piano studies at the age of six under the guidance of Dr. Douglas Pieper. He has received his Bachelors and Masters degrees in piano performance under Edward Kuhn of Seton Hill, and Dr. Robert Bedford of West Chester.
He has performed for a multitude of events all over the country, which include PMTA conferences, Friday evening music club, Rotary club of Harrisburg, Junior, Senior, and Graduate recital.
He has also participated in numerous master classes with Sofya Gulyak, Jeffery Biegel, Dr. Whittaker, and Dr. Weems. Brandon has also placed in numerous piano competitions some of which include the Princeton Piano Festival, and the MTNA piano competitions. He has also been choir director and organist at Holy trinity lutheran Church and Shiremanstown United Methodist Church in Ca
mphill PA. During graduate school, Brandon Discovered a love of teaching. A duty of passing down the knowledge to his students so that they may continue this great and noble pursuit of music.

I remember my very first piano lessons - taught by my mom because she wasn't convinced that piano was something I would stick with. I was so excited! Music was fun! Well not always fun ... the songs got harder and my fingers had to learn how to move in unnatural ways. Sometimes I would get frustrated. BUT the passion still remained.
