As a bass opera singer and professional voice over artist, I am dedicated to creating a healthy and beautiful sound with my own voice and the voices of my students. I will not come into our lessons saying there is a single way to sing. In fact, many genres require a great deal of varying vocal techniques and stylized voices. What I will do is help to lay a foundation in healthy singing so that you feel comfortable singing any genre. We will start by ensuring that your breath and vowel placement feels comfortable and from there move into repertoire of your choosing or some that I recommend based upon your interests. You will leave your tenure with me empowered to continue your passion and career for singing long after your lessons end. Music is meant to be shared. Together, we will help you to share the music and passion that you hold so dear.

I can’t say enough great things about Matthew! He has been an amazing teacher - his technical expertise, his tremendous patience, and his ability to explain in simple terms and help me understand proper vocal technique has been instrumental in my development. I’m grateful to have found Matthew - he has shown a level of support and commitment to my goals that I haven’t seen in other teachers and I am excited to continue working with him, as I know that with his guidance I’ll achieve them.
Janet
As a young, low voice, my son was struggling with singing until he started taking lessons with Matthew. Since then, my son has developed a passion for opera and has decided to pursue a vocal performance degree in college. Matthew has not only helped him develop his voice, he has also had discussions about what to expect as a professional singer and has coached him through the college application/audition process. I can't recommend Matthew highly enough. He truly cares about his students and strives to help them achieve their own personal goals, whatever they may be.

Matt is an incredible teacher! Great at explaining concepts, trying different things to fit your voice, and helping you set and achieve your goals. Highly recommended!

I was classically trained in voice for 10 years, was a voice major in my university studies, and have sung various styles, from opera to broadway, to pop and gospel. "Classical" vocal training refers to the standard techniques utilized for training primarily in Classical (i.e. opera) music. Classical vocal lessons will incorporate repertoire that falls under this genre, including songs in Italian, German, French, and English. Instruction on pronunciation, interpretation and expression will be included in these lessons.
I employ a variety of techniques (breathing exercises, vocalises, vocal health tips, etc.) to empower each student to first explore and understand their voice, and then strengthen and expand it. I always prioritize my students’ vocal health and longevity, and customize lesson exercises to their unique needs, since every voice is one-of-a-kind. Whether you’re just beginning to discover your voice, or have been singing for a while, come uncover your vocal prowess!

Hello! I am an actor, singer, and teacher in NYC. I was an adjunct faculty at NYU Steinhardt Vocal Performance program 2017-2019. At NYU, I taught private voice lessons to NYU students for 2 years, from beginner to advanced singers. My goal is to find your "authentic" voice so that you can sing in a healthy and sustainable way across the genres. (classical, music theater, pop/rock, R&B/soul, country, etc.) I have developed a style of teaching that is efficient and flexible. I will cater my lessons to your needs!

I also studied voice science (vocology) through the NYU Voice Center under the SLPs and Laryngologists, so I understand how the vocal system works. I will provide explanations that make sense using anatomy and physiology!

My teaching style is “taller-made” for each student and his/her development. Since singing is a combination of technique and expression, and is very physical and emotional, I aim to help each of my students gain that balance of emotionality with technique!

"I selected Elizabeth as my classical vocal teacher when I moved to North Scottsdale and have been very pleased with my experience thus far! My voice has improved in tonality, quality and all over sound. Currently, I am relearning music techniques and correcting bad singing habits. After we ran thru a variety of scales and arias in our first practice she suspected I was only utilizing half of my vocal range. I thought, "ya ya, okay". But, Aaah, she was right! I've always placed myself as Mezzo-Soprano/Contralto ( a 2nd Soprano-1st Alto) but after improving some techniques, at her recommendation, I am discovering a very high song bird-esque Soprano sound coming from me! I am beyond thrilled at my newly discovered voice set and am looking forward to unearthing more of it."

"I highly recommend Sarabeth to anyone interested in singing, whether you have already had some background in voice or you are just starting out.

Sarabeth is a truly amazing voice teacher!!! She led me step by step through many vocal exercises and taught me many a great classical song! Her patience and encouragement were ever present at each lesson as I stumbled through the classical songs which were written in other languages.

I have SMA type 1-2, a severely debilitating and progressive disease, and my lung capacity was 24% of normal when Sarabeth started teaching me. Under her guidance, I was able to increase my lung capacity to 28%! Believe me when I say that this is not supposed to happen to people with SMA. In general our lung capacities continue to decrease as the disease progresses until we need to be placed under mechanical ventilation. The most common mode of death for people with SMA is respiratory failure.

I am deeply saddened that Sarabeth is moving away to Los Angeles and will no longer be able to be my singing teacher, but wishing her the best of luck there!!! I will always remember her as the incredibly wonderful teacher she is!"

"Dani is really the best instructor ever. When I started taking lessons with her my goal was to prepare for a college audition. Immediately she helped me identify where I could improve my technique and offered a variety of exercises that suited me best. She is familiar with tons of classical repertoire as well as jazz and popular songs. I really enjoyed that she made my lessons challenging enough to help me grow musically, but always working on something within my reach. She also has many incredibly useful performance hacks to help get out the best of you when its time to be on stage. I am happy to say that all the time and our hard work was well spent. After I auditioned for the college I wanted I received not only the acceptance letter, but also a near full tuition musical merit based scholarship. Thank you so much Dani!"

"I was honestly speechless during my first lesson! Daniel G is the person I have been looking for in a long time. Daniel G is a great teacher! He has such a powerful and controlled voice and what a great personable guy! I just recorded a song tonight and I can already hear and feel a difference. After my voice changed, I kept getting frustrated trying to find the right teacher. I actually think I learned and improved more from my first lesson with Daniel than weeks with others. I'm almost hesitant to write this review in fear Daniel will have less time with me. 8-)"
