I've been teaching viola for over 27 years and my students have gone on to play in youth orchestras, community orchestras, attend PMEA and ASTA events or go to college as a music major. Within the first few lessons, you'll be able to improve your playing skills and as time goes on you'll be able to play at a more advanced level. I specialize in Traditional Classical violin, typically use Essential Elements 2000, Samuel Applebaum methods, Suzuki methods, Barbara Barber books and traditional scales and etude books. I love working with students of all ages and experience levels and I can't wait to meet you!

Susanna is an excellent instructor! I've been with her for a year as an adult beginner and learned a great deal. She is patient and supportive -- exactly what you need in an instructor. She also has a great sense of humor lined with kindness, which helps when you create some truly tragic notes on your violin.

Do you want to play classical piano music: Bach, Mozart, Beethoven? You are in the right place!

I choose and adapt songs according to the age, interests, goals, and skills of the students. I also use the songs to teach different musical concepts: intervals, progressions, scales, chords. Every student is different, so I don't use any specific method.

Laura had such a welcoming presence and didn’t make me feel bad about my voice at all, she made me feel way more confident. I am a beginner and I noticed an instant change in my voice, a good change. Laura also introduced me to a new part of my voice I didn’t know existed so I would definitely recommend her to anyone I meet.

Marie is an enthusiastic and detailed teacher. She has a great ability to explain complicated concepts with visuals and unique approaches. Her love of the subject really shines in her teaching. I highly recommend Marie as a science tutor.
Gina
Marie teaches with great enthusiasm, and it's hard not to get excited when your teacher is so excited about the subject. She has a true appreciation for how things work together, and it's like she helps you put the puzzle pieces together to see the cause and effects. With Marie, it's not like you learn tons of individual facts and memorize a bunch of stuff that you'll forget later. Instead you learn how one thing affects another so you can understand cycles and processes in Science. Plus, she has a great sense of humor and loves to laugh, so that makes learning fun.

Marie is clear and patient. She’s sparky and explains things interestingly.

"My very first acting lesson was with Kelsey. Going into it, I was extremely nervous because I had no prior experience at all. However, upon meeting her, Kelsey showed me the most amazing kindness and patience as she molded me into a much better actor, as well as speaker. She knows exactly how to make her students feel as comfortable as possible around her. She is very funny and personable, and an overall pleasure to have as a teacher and coach. I'm still in her class now, and so far I can tell a huge difference in how far I've come 100% due to her. I would definitely recommend her to any aspiring actor at any level. Thanks Kelsey!"

"A very good first lesson. We went over breathing exercises and scales. Also had time for Amy to critique my speaking style through a portion of a speech I will be giving in a month. Time well-spent.

She briefly went over the next lesson plan and gave me a little homework to do as well.

I got a lot out of this lesson and I can see how this will help me accomplish my goal of being a better public speaker and having a more controlled and stronger voice.

Looking forward to future lessons."

Who is the Highest Paid Actor? Why Your Paycheck May Not Reflect Your Skill Level

Who is your favorite actor? For the past few years, it’s been Denzel Washington, according to polls. Count me amongst the masses! Denzel Washington is fantastic, and he’s my favorite actor, too. For decades, he’s wowed me with his dramatic prowess. The man even has the acting chops to tackle great theatrical works on Broadway, such as A Raisin in the Sun, and blew the critics away there as well. He’s played a wide variety of roles, portraying men in various time periods and from n …

Top 5 Wildest Method Acting Techniques in Hollywood History

If you've ever watched an actor disappear into their role, shedding genuine tears or adopting mannerisms that aren't their own, then you've seen method acting techniques in action. Most people think of this approach as "becoming a character," and some actors do take that literally, pretending to actually be the person they're playing.  Method acting is taught everywhere from Hollywood to Broadway. But a few notable actors are well-known for taking it to award-winning extremes, making enormous …

How to Handle Rejection as an Actor

One of my college acting professors told us, “if you can’t handle rejection, find another major. Actors are rejected more than they’re cast. You will have to deal with rejection every day; and if you let it get to you, you won’t last long”. Those words stuck with me all these years: not only for their brutal honesty, but also because I wish I had asked her: how do we deal with all this rejection? Fortunately, there are many A-list stars who can tell you stories of how they experie …
