I believe that a beautiful sound is the most important thing. Rather than telling you how to get a great sound, I will demonstrate by playing everything back and forth with you. Learning a musical skill is accomplished through trial and error, thus we need to make mistakes in order to improve. I encourage my students not to be afraid of making mistakes. Perfection is not the target - a beautiful sound is the ultimate goal.
Hi! My name is Larry, and I really enjoy playing and teaching trumpet. The trumpet has literally taken me around the world playing for over ten years on various cruise lines, visiting beautiful places in Europe, Asia, Australia/New Zealand, and North/South America. Since leaving the cruise industry,

This is just pure fun! Recording and broadcast, acoustics, spoken words, sound effects, music - its pure joy to record and find the right mixture of dry, wet, warm, color, clean or tube sound.
Let's explore our hearing as we would with fine food in the kitchen or with a fine brush on a pallet. Photography of sound, recording involves technical knowledge and understanding of how sound reaches us, how it is captured and how it is mixed as well as how it is perceived. Psycho-acoustic magic is a performance in itself.
How many times have we listened to a recording only to nod to ourselves in knowing that it was the recording engineer who should have gotten the prize and the standing ovation?
We are the unsung heroes behind the glamor but the satisfaction of knowing and hearing as well as producing the treasured recording or the enjoyed performance perfectly balanced in the space - is priceless.
Let's have fun in finding your recipe for a delicious sound as we look

He created a welcoming environment in our online lessons that made it easy to be vulnerable and get right to working on new skills.
I highly recommend for others looking to better understand their voice and communication style, and learn to hone them.
Joseph’s technical ‘short cuts’ are amazing! He illustrates ways for your hands and your mind to work that are tailor made for you. Learning from him is so fun it seems almost effortless.
The way Joseph teaches allows you to develop at your own pace. The atmosphere is always relaxed yet everything moves along quickly.
At the open classes I attend, his other students are progressing very rapidly too. After each class, we share our impressions. The mood is elated because it feels like we stepped back in time and into history.
Joseph often quotes inspired wisdom of his historic teachers in our lessons. He is a great inspiration on his own with great musical insights.
I’m playing Beethoven and Chopin works I never thought I could approach at this stage of study, with great depth of understanding. I now play with greater passion and skill, get compliments from everyone I play for, and no longer worry about playing in public.
I look forward to each and every lesson with Joseph. His encouragement and support makes learning so rewarding! Anyone who finds this musical treasure is a lucky person and I cannot recommend him highly enough.

Master of Music in Flute Performance with Academic Honors, Music in Education Certification from New England Conservatory
I have been playing the flute for over 15 years and am excited to teach students of all ages and abilities! I structure my lessons around the students’ goals, whether it is to play professionally or simply as a hobby. This allows students to progress at a comfortable rate and grants them freedom of repertoire choice, while still encouraging a strong foundation in fundamental skills (breathing, phrasing, technique, posture, music theory). Lessons also focus heavily on body awareness, so as to prevent common injuries.
The 15-minute lesson option is meant for students who wish to take recorder lessons as preparation for future flute-lessons. The 15-minute price is equivalent to a 30 minute recorder lesson.
I'm an active flutist and Japanese enthusiast currently living in Boston, MA! I hold degrees in Flute Performance from New England Conservatory and the University of Washington, and recently completed my Fulbright year at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, Finland. I believe that learning music shoul

Hello! My name is Omar, and I am a tutor for physics and mathematics through the collegiate level. There is nothing I enjoy more than sharing the scientific beauty of the world around us, and the math that underlies it, with my students. I help students to grasp insightful and intuitive ways of understanding physical and mathematical concepts, helping them do better in school and become better scientists. For many students, STEM can seem daunting; I hope to show them that, with the right guidance, anyone can tackle and enjoy even the most complicated science and mathematics.
There is no greater joy than helping a student reach their goals in STEM. I understand the feeling of being discouraged by difficult concepts, but I've discovered that under the right tutelage, nothing is impossible to understand. I love providing students with that guidance and watching them grow to their full potential.
When working with students, I develop a rough curriculum and gather/write problems for ...

Learning a new language shouldn't be limited to textbooks and coursework! Here, tutor Kaitlin W. shares her (easy) ideas for practicing Spanish throughout the day... I don't come from a Spanish-speaking family, nor is my family from a country where Spanish is spoken. Yet every time I open my mouth to speak Spanish, I'm asked where I am from. I have a near-native accent that leaves little trace of my Anglo roots. I often make people guess what country I'm from, and I've heard every …
