I am a professional orchestral musician who was classically trained at the world's best music conservatories, and I love teaching music to students of all ability levels! I am currently a member in the Pittsburgh Symphony, but I have played regularly with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the Philadelphia Orchestra, and I used to be a member of Chicago's Grant Park Orchestra and the Kansas City Symphony.

I graduated from the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, and I also attended the Cleveland Institute of Music.

Music has always been a huge part of my life, ever since I started playing violin when I was 2 years old, and I would love to share the joy of playing music with you!

Hi! My name is Hua and I'm originally from Shanghai, China. I'm currently pursuing an Artist Diploma at Jacobs of Music. I've always loved making friends, helping people, sharing my thoughts and that led me to teaching! I have experience in teaching every level no matter if you just picked up the violin or can already play Paganini caprice I'm your girl! Learn with me I will share my knowledges with you as well as any Asian culture you're curious of. My ultimate goal is to be your friend, your guidance, someone who can be there when you need help, rather than a be teacher who tells you what to do. I will make plans for each individual because every soul is UNIQUE.

In my one hour of comprehensive teaching, students learn extensively the techniques of the violin, including tone production, vibrato, musicality and pieces of music which are chosen from standard violin literature or Suzuki books. The whole idea is to get students to look at the whole learning process as a fun activity, and very soon they acquire the ability to produce beautiful sounds, correct intonation and strong vibrato. In addition to the above, I conduct some some ear-training exercises to improve intonation as well.

Basic skills and advanced techniques are taught alongside music interpretation and expression, as well as basic music history, music theory, and other tools necessary to make informed performance decisions. the violin class should be fun even play a instrument is not so easy.
we are going to practice some basics technic like scales technical exercise, we should know a lot of famous music too, music from Bach Beethoven Mozart Tchaikovsky, and popular music, dance music or world music.
if the student need take audition for orchestra or going to a compotation we will work on the repertoire too.

I earned my Bachelors degree in violin performance, and an continuing my studies at the Peabody Institute. My past and current teachers include: Irving Ludwig (Philadelphia Orchestra), Juliette Kang (associate concertmaster of Philadelphia Orchestra), and Qing Li (principal 2nd violin of Baltimore Symphony Orchestra).
