About Kay

I have been teaching Piano for 20 years now. I have taught students from age 2 1/2 - Adult. I was self-taught when I was a kid and begun taking formal lessons as a very young adult in my early twenties. I graduated from CSULB with my BA in Music with a concentration on Voice. As a Music major, you spend a lot of time at the Piano. I became a member of MTAC in 2004 and a member of Sigma Alpha Iota in 1998. I have a great passion for Music and a bigger passion for the Piano and sharing the wonders of how beautiful the Piano really is.

*** Lesson Details ***
In my opinion, piano is the hardest instrument to learn, but the most rewarding. If you can play piano you can pretty much play any instrument. I believe that a piano lesson should be fun. I'm a strict teacher with a smile and a giggle. I push my students to greatness while helping t

hem love the piano through the good times and the bad. I'm a very encouraging but honest teacher. I compliment when warranted and I assess incorrect performances in an honest, but encouraging manner. I always let a student know that, though their performance was not their best, they can and will improve. It's always only a matter of time. I use the Schaum and Nevin series depending on the student's personality. I teach Classical and Pop Music. It's important for a student to learn the Classics and gain the ability to play things they like. I find the happy balance between the two. I teach Beginning to Intermediate levels. I also like to incorporate Music theory into the lessons because understanding the mechanics of Music helps make playing and creating Music much easier to accomplish. A typical lesson will start off with a hand drill warm up. We then will move on to the lesson book and repertoire. Theory will be assigned as homework. I look it over at the beginning of the lesson and discuss it and answer any questions in the last five minutes of class. Baby lessons go as followed: 15 mins. of play time and 15 mins of Music theory. I like to keep structure in my lessons but sprinkle a little joy and laughter to keep the atmosphere light. It makes for a much more attentive Piano student.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I expect the student to have a Piano or Keyboard of some sort. I may provide music on occasion.

*** Specialties ***
Classical and Pop

About Kelvin

I am a highly organized, outcome-driven and motivated professional musician and educator with solid experience in the classroom. For the past 25 years, I have been employed with Amati music academy and seven years on the faculty of University of St Francis.
I am very comfortable with all aspects of the current music syllabus, including teaching musical concepts (such as duration, pitch, dynamics, tone color, texture and structure) as well as performance, composition. I am fully qualified, with a Bachelor of Education in Music, Double Masters in music performance and education from University of Nottingham.
I am proficient in classical, jazz and Celtic fiddle violin and possess solid skills in piano (grade 8-13) Royal conservatory system.
Throughout my teaching career, I have been driven to help students achieve their very best. I str

ongly believe that music has the power to change lives – to enhance the social, cultural and spiritual lives of people, and serve as a profound medium of personal expression. Professional perform experience: The Chicago, Natalie Cole, Smokey Robinson, Three tours with Moody Blues, YoYo Ma etc....
The most important thing I look for in a student is communication skills, as well as talent. I like to nurture students and help identify their individual strengths, which is a key factor in shaping a musical persona that will make its mark both on and offstage. I do not advocate a uniform technique for all students. Physical differences and learning styles are always taken into consideration. Potential is as important to me as early achievements and experience. My goal is to help students become self-sufficient, discriminating artists. I discuss practice techniques often and develop individualized scale routines. I encourage initiative and expressive musicality as well as precision. Above all, music needs to bring obvious joy to the student, regardless of the difficulties.”

About Brianna

Hi, I'm Bri! I'm a graduate of North Central College with a BA in Music (Emphasis in Composition and Percussion) and a minor in History. I absolutely love music, every single aspect of it. I love to make music a part of everybody's lives who want and need it. I want to help you with your musical needs. I have been playing percussion for 19 years, singing for 25, and playing piano for 20 years. I was a member of a recording and performing Chicago band, Oblio and Arrow, where I provided backing vocals and helped with the song arrangements. I am currently a member of Trip City Lights, an LA local funk/soul band, where I provide lead and backing vocals. I also record vocals for different artists hooks, jingles, choruses, and songs (covers and originals). I have also composed/arranged various pieces for ensembles, bands, vocal groups, choirs,

plays, musicals, commercials, etc. I've worked with folks locally in LA, and all over the world. I love what I do!

History has always fascinated me. The way our world has developed and changed and continues to evolve is amazing. Everything can be tied back to the past, and I feel it's important to take a look back, put yourself in that time, and really study how things were to help understand why things are the way they are now.

Crocheting and knitting are a couple of good habits/hobbies I picked up about 10 years ago. I sell scarves online and I'm always working on some sort of project. I will have you knitting and pearling with the best of them!

Music, history, crochet, and knitting....I'm your girl!

Vena is a consummate professional. My son wanted to learn some basic sewing skills, as well as learn how to make clothes and accessories. In the first 1.5 hour lesson at our home, he completed a simple zipper bag. Over the course of six lessons he made a messenger bag, dress shirt and started on pants - which he finished while we were on vacation. Vena is an expert and also knows how to tailor her lessons to her individual students work style, needs and goals. I give her my highest recommendation. My son will be working with her again to learn how to design his own creations. Five stars all the way.

I think Vena is wonderful. She is patient, warm, supportive and knowledgeable. She can help you complete specific projects (make a dress or a stuffed animal), help you become a better sewer or teach you the art of pattern making. Also, I should mention, she work professionally in the fashion industry and give lots of great insight into how garments are designed. Love Her!

About Dr. Suman

My name is Dr. Suman (pronounced Simone). I have my own Health Coaching practice at Medicinal Nutrition DR, LLC

I have a doctorate in nutrition (clinical/medical). I am also a certified health coach, weight management specialist, and my training was specialized in working with overweight and obese individuals from all walks of life.

I have been a health professional for ten plus years and I have been offering health education for about the same time. I am very passionate about health and wellness and feel deeply sad when I see individuals struggling to become healthy and therefore resorting to diet fads or worse, struggling in silence. I think that knowledge is power only when you use it! Therefore, I decided to use my clinical and medical knowledge, education, and certification's to coach other like minded individuals about healt

h and wellness.

We all need a coach or a guide who can allow us to thrive and shine while, helping us navigate the rough waters effortlessly. In these times, while it may be easy to "google" something and find answers you may want to hear, not all of these answers are authentic or individualized for your personal health needs. Having a coach, guide, a support system, and an accountability factor all bundled in one, now, I doubt google can do that for you:) I pride in being compassionate, empathetic, and patient- all the qualities you may need in a mentor and a health professional!

I hope I am able to connect with you and share my passion for health and wellness while, at the same time, educate you and empower your journey!

I am also trained as a life coach, weight management specialist, and a mindfulness/meditation instructor-educator. Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions before you wish to get started.

Lastly, I am a certified tarot reader, if you are looking to understand how to read tarot cards and grow spiritually, please get in touch with me.

A friendly disclaimer: I am not offering any health or medical advice, diagnosis, or treatments through this platform. My goal is to strictly only provide health coaching and nutrition education. Please contact me if you are interested in learning and becoming educated about health and wellness. I also do not offer or provide any related certifications upon completion of your personal program with me, this is purely an educational platform.

About Kyle

I'm a class B (almost class A) player who has been playing chess seriously for just over a year, though I've been playing the game since I was a child. I regularly play in competitive over-the-board tournaments, as well as playing daily online. I have an International Master as a coach, so I am constantly learning myself and I understand what it's like to be a student of the game.
I can analyze student's games, identify weak areas of play, and develop a personalized routine to help you improve. Every day, I dedicate hours of studying to chess openings, tactics, chess history, endgames, and strategic concepts, and I am eager to teach this information to others.
