I had my doubts at first of taking a class online, because I am not an easy student, my body awareness is not very good, but Corbin is such a great teacher and he knows very well what he is doing, so I was pleasantly surprised with the results. He is patient, encouraging and to the point. Highly recommended.

Corbin was fantastic!! He really knows his stuff. I came to him with a few things to work on and he identified them without me telling him. He also picked up on several other items that we addressed. He had some great techniques to help me identify what I could do better and then had the suggestions for improvement. I am looking forward to working with Corbin again. Excellent experience.

I have taken numerous studio classes on the particular style of acting required for film and television versus stage work.

About Randy
I have a Masters degree in Theatre History and Criticism (Theatrical Critical Theory). I have teaching experience and have been exposed to many different types of teaching styles and locales, (i.e. classroom, studio).I have a Bachelors degree in Fine Arts with a focus on acting, Academia.com holds some of my work and I can certainly offer more.

Learn voice acting from the guy who wrote the book "The Art of Voice Acting."

Hi... I'm James Alburger. I've been working with voiceover talent for more than 45 years and teaching voice acting for more than 20. I'm a recording engineer/producer, talent director, copy writer, performance coach and an 11-time Emmy® recipient. Since it was first published in 1997, my book (currently in its 5th edition) has become known as "the bible of voiceover," and is used by a few dozen universities as a textbook for their voiceover courses.

My focus is on giving my students a strong foundation on performance, script interpretation and character development.

If you're interested in any aspect of voiceover or performing on-camera, I'd love to talk to you.

About James
As a Voice Actor, James R. Alburger has gained a reputation for delivering exceptional voiceover performances on time and exceeding client expectations, for a wide variety of projects ranging from radio commercials to self-guided tour narration, to web learning, to dialogue, to specialized character voice work, to delivery of complex technical and medical scripts.

As a teacher and owner of the VoiceActing Academy in San Diego, he works with people who want to break into voiceover and provides continued support through, the Conductor’s Club.

As an 11-time Emmy winning audio producer, director, and copy writer through his production company, VoiceActing Studios, he works with business owners and advertising agencies who use radio advertising, and with other clients who want exceptional sound design, music editing, and audio production - i
ncluding audio post-production and sweetening for video and film.

As a performance director for voiceover, stage, and video, James takes an actor’s initial choices to a new level through his understanding of the nuance of interpretation, delivery, blocking, timing, and character.

As an author, James has written what has become the standard reference book for the voiceover industry, "The Art of Voice Acting."

As co-executive producer of the VoiceOver International Creative Experience (VOICE), the world’s only major convention for voice actors, James has gained a high level of credibility in the voiceover community for exceptional community service and event producing.

For more than 45 years James has worked with voiceover artists as a voice actor, director, performer and studio engineer in Los Angeles and San Diego. For 25 years, he was a director and audio producer for NBC in San Diego, receiving eleven Emmy® Awards. Following his television career, James moved into professional voiceover and creative services with the establishment of VoiceActing.com and VoiceActing Studios where he received numerous Omni Intermedia Awards, the Communicator Award, and multiple Silver Microphone Awards for his work. He is currently an independent audio producer, voice actor, performance coach, professional speaker, author, and teacher.

Prepping an audition for an upcoming show or for admission into an acting program? Want to hone and develop your audition monologues (especially Shakespeare)? Just need a coach to help you take your acting to another level? Then let's get started, online or in person. I can help.

I've been working as a professional actor in the theatre and on-camera for over 25 years. I've performed with the Shakespeare Theatre in DC, ACT Theatre in Seattle, Book-It Repertory, Seattle Shakespeare Company, and Shakespeare Santa Cruz to name a few. I've also been the featured voice in voiceovers for companies like University of Washington Medical, Golden 1 State Credit Union, Microsoft, and Surface Pro 3. On Camera Credits include short films, industrials, and commercials for Taco Time, Tulalip Casino, and Washington Dental Association.

I hold a BFA from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and an MFA from the Shakespeare Theatre's Academy for Classical Acting in Washington DC. My ...

About Jason
I've been performing roles in the theatre and on-camera for over 25 years. My BFA in Acting and Directing and my MFA in Classical Acting have afforded me a wide variety of tools and skills to employ in the craft of acting. Performing with professional repertory companies like ACT Theatre, Book-It Repertory, Shakespeare Santa Cruz, and the Shakespeare Theatre in DC, I've gained personal knowledge of the art, craft, and business of being a working actor, which I will put to work for you, in a personalized one-on-one coaching session, either online or in person.

Here's how I can help.

SCENE WORK AND MONOLOGUES: Whether it's dusting off and refreshing monologues you've performed more times than you can count, or developing pieces or scenes for the first time for an upcoming stage or on-camera audition, we can break the material down togethe
r, work on the clarity of your choices and active objectives, and access your personal connection to the material so you'll be ready and confident with a one-of-a-kind performance that reflects the strengths you bring to acting and the story you want to tell.

SHAKESPEARE: Perhaps the most daunting of styles for a contemporary actor, we'll get down to the nuts and bolts of some of the most challenging (and rewarding) material. The famous soliloquies are famous for a reason and can certainly be intimidating, and more obscure material can seem thick and inaccessible. We'll chip away at the mystique of Shakespeare by digging in to the text and verse, activating the language with specificity, and cultivating your personal take on well-known characters or lesser known material they might not have seen before.

DIALECTS AND ACCENTS: From English to Irish to Southern American and beyond, a well executed dialect can be the edge you need to land (and play) that meaty role. I use a multipronged approach that involves ear training to develop an authentic sound, text analysis for clarity of sound substitutions (IPA Proficient), and exercises that pare away stilted and unnatural speech to cultivate an authentic sounding voice that will be your own.

VOICEOVER: I've been booking voiceover gigs on TV, radio, and the internet for over 10 years with clients like Microsoft, Liberty Mutual, UW Medicine, Tableau, Reno Toyota, and Golden One State Credit Union. I can offer tips and tricks of the trade, as well as techniques that can take your VO submissions to the next level and help you book these lucrative contracts.

Let's get started!
