Very nice and professional. My daughter loves her.

I’m an adult viola student which is kind of different for me. I started playing again after a couple years and I’m trying to learn ways to play with other musicians. Emily has been really good with helping me focus on what I want to learn. She is patient with me and also plays with me and makes me feel comfortable in my lesson. afterwards I feel good and positive and I want to play more! I suggest her for anyone trying to be creative and wants to improve on tempo, rythm, tone etc. she’s good.

It is a year later and my daughter is playing well. Anje enjoys her classes and thinks Emily is a great instructor.

Through the lessons I help students on understanding the fundamentals of music theory, creating an ideal sound, musical expression and coordination.
Every student is different. I work with students individually and use different approaches for each one of them. Such as methods, repertoire and lesson skills.
But most important of all, I always make sure that my student does not loose interest and have fun making music!

I was raised in the Suzuki method, trained in it, and I believe in it. It is the most effective school of education for new musicians who want to learn reliably. I've been teaching it 9 years.

I can talk to you for days about the method, but I will sum it up as quickly as i can.

1: Immersion
2: Daily Practice
3: Listening
4: Strong relationship between student, teacher and parent.

If the student listens everyday, practices everyday, practices what i tell them, and is made to love the music, you will learn. I've taught hundreds of students this way and when all the conditions are met, all my students have had success.

About Joshua

Joshua has been a musician for over seventeen years and has been teaching for nine. He is an award winning composer, critical thinker, and an straight-forward teacher. Joshua has a high standards for his students and himself. Joshua has studied Suzuki method under Dr. Paula Bird for four years and

"Kris was the PERFECT match for my 9 year old son who enjoys the violin but is maturing as well. Kris made him feel positive about his slow but steady progress. He was never shamed for not doing or being more. That being said, I believe that Kris was more than ready to meet my son wherever his capability was and to gently challenge him to grow."

"Kristztina is my second teacher through Takelessons and by far the best. She is extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and patient, and will help you lay a strong foundation in technique as well as develop your ear to play in tune. What I also enjoy is how she doesn't hesitate to help you learn the music you want to learn. Instead of using a set program of pieces you may not enjoy she really helps you play the things that will keep you practicing. I cannot recommend her highly enough."

"Lydia is an excellent violin teacher. She has a very gentle, patient demeanor which is so important when working with kids. My daughter started lessons just after turning 5, and though her focus was not always there, Lydia always found ways to keep her learning and engaged. 6 months later, my daughter is much more focused and already playing songs and starting to read music. I think it's important to note that Lydia is very organized, always on time, professional, and pleasant to work with. Very highly recommend!"

After all, the way you treat your violin bows will affect the way the violin sounds. If too much resin builds up on the hairs, for example, the sound will come out wrong. While it may not be as costly to repair or replace violin bows, why waste money when it’s easy to keep your violin bows in good working condition? …
