Calculus can seem complicated, and as a current college student, I've been there. With 2 years of tutoring experience within my university and 4 years of mentoring experience, I've learned that it's not necessarily that the student cannot comprehend the concepts or the subject is just too hard. Sometimes, there are missing pieces of information from introductory mathematics classes that need a little refresher to get to where we want to be with Calculus. Or maybe, we need a more straightforward method of explaining complex math procedures. Whether you are just starting with Calculus or looking to work on challenging problems, I'm here to get started!

I've had a book published and have written for a multi-national newspaper. I also got A grades right up until I finished college with English and Creative Writing. My style of teaching is very relaxed and informal, I want students to feel they can be equals with me, and gain confidence and be proud of their work. I set homework but I also encourage students to get creative in their own time and to show initiative! The most rewarding thing is that with writing, you can nowadays find so many outlets for your work - the sky's the limit!
Lessons can involve looking at literature and different styles of writing, as well as finding something that sparks the imagination and interest. I work especially well with young teens and pre-teens, as well as those who are looking to further their writing skills.

There were plenty of times after working virtually all day, the last thing I wanted was to look at a screen, but our exercises were captivating. That speaks to his approach.
Also, he's judicious with his feedback which I appreciate.
Merci Philippe!
Philippe tailored our learning to not be from a book but used role-playing exercises to use French in a more realistic, fun, yet non-threatening manner.
I hope to have him again as an instructor and highly recommend him to anyone looking to learn French.

Book NowI am currently majoring in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, a very math-based degree, at Montana Technological University. I aim to graduate with a Bachelor of Science alongside two minors–one in Materials Science, and the other in Mathematics. During the Spring of 2021, I will be taking College Calculus II. I have previously taken, and can tutor, AP Calculus AB, Trigonometry, Honors Algebra II, Honors Geometry, Honors Algebra I, Pre-Algebra, and middle school and elementary math. I approach teaching with a patient and goal-oriented outlook, emphasizing the fact that both of us are continuing to learn; as such, we are in this together. During our first lesson, we will get to know one another, evaluate your mathematical strengths and weaknesses, set goals for future lessons, and look through your current material. I can promise to bring unique practice problems and resources for you to review to each lesson that we have together.
