This is not a machine embroidery class. Get ready to move beyond the basic cross stitch (by hand). Let me coach you on specialty stitches such as satin, queen, eyelets, Rhodes, French knots and more. Let me repeat, this will not be a machine embroidery class, every stitch will be made by hand!

I've been cross stitching since 1983 and teaching it for over 10 years. Within the first few lessons, you'll learn how to organize your material for easier sewing, master basic stitches, and as time goes on you'll be able to tackle complicated stitches and designs. I specialize in counted cross stitch, but also have experience with redwork, drawnwork, Bargello, pulled thread, hardanger, and canvaswork. Typically, I use The Cross Stitcher's Bible by Jane Greenoff but can recommend other helpful resources. I love working with students of all ages and experience levels and I can't wait to meet you!

"Lily, by far and away has exceeded mine and my wife's expectations. She was extremely patient and knowledgeable. We are in the process of opening a embroidery and screen printing store and Lily was very helpful with eliminating some of the road blocks we have faced over last month. It was only an hour but I felt that we accomplished a lot in that 60 minutes. My wife has accomplished a bunch of shirts in the one day since our lesson. With eliminating some of the road blocks she had encountered, she was able to finish a project without frustration and wasting hours. We look forward to next weeks lesson.
