Guitar lessons with me are unique because although I am young, I am a very experienced teacher already. I started learning guitar at 10 years old. By the time I was 16 I was gigging and teaching kids in my neighborhood and any Craigslist clients I could find. At 18, I took a 1.5 year program at the Los Angeles College of Music, where I graduated with an AA in guitar performance. Since then I have worked as a professional musician, and also as a teacher /consultant with Adopt the Arts, a non profit started by Matt Sorum (drummer of Guns N Roses, Hollywood Vampires) and director Abby Berman. In my time at Adopt the Arts I have amassed over 4000 teaching hours of teaching kids ages 4-13, so I am very experienced with kids and get along with them great since. I have also been giving other private lessons to people of all ages since 2011. For beginner students the focus will be primarily on getting you able to play songs from artists you love quickly and enjoyably, with a focus on developing good rhythm, technique, guitar care and a solid foundation of chords that can be used in innumerable songs. Theory will be given in small, easily-digestible pieces, and always within the context of actual musical examples. If you're interested in learning to sing while playing, I'll also help you find ways to incorporate it early on so that it becomes more natural as you progress.

For students with some experience the direction of our lessons will be largely determined by your personal needs and goals, but subjects we might cover include songwriting, finger-picking, expanding chord vocabulary, ...

-basic chords in first position and strumming basics

-advanced flatpicking techniques (cross-picking, speed and agility)

-reading music OR reading tablature OR learning by ear (or all three)

I have been teaching for over fifteen years. We will work on standard tunes as well as any of your favorites.You can choose to learn by ear, notation, tab, or some combination of these. I enjoy giving music lessons, and I believe you will enjoy the lessons.

Hi, I’m Norman, and I teach guitar and all other fretted instruments. I have maintained a weekly schedule of about 40 studio and online students since 2010. Lessons with me are fun, streamlined, and filled with music.

My students can play their instruments well, and they know their chords, scales, arpeggios, songs, and other compositions. Using the state-of-the art music learning theory I studied at Eastman School of Music, performers gain the confidence to play in solo recitals, or with a group, or even to teach others to play, too.

I'm Ahmad a very enthusiastic musician. I started out teaching myself guitar at the age of 12. I moved to the U.S. in 2001 and studied music for 15 years receiving my B.M. and M.M in music and audio production at San Francisco State University. I then moved to Los Angeles then studied and trained with John Mayer, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, George Lynch and many others. I have performed hundreds of concerts in the U.S. as well in Europe and the Middle East with Artists such as Ozzy Osbourne, Metallica, Guns N Roses, Michael Angelo Batio, Ratt, Sammy Hagar, Dokken and many others. I ranked #1 in the Slash Guitar Center competition. I was in the "list of top 5 guitar players ever" according to The Examiner, also picked as one of the best guitarists of 2013 and 2014 consecutively in the Rockwell UnScene magazine, and ranked 3rd in the Steve Vai Sam Ash Best in Shred competition.
