Greensburg Crafts & Hobbies Lessons for Seniors

Chess lessons, for me, are unique in many ways. The main reason, is that I've always wanted to teach students the patients, skills, and techniques to achieve the levels they desire in Chess. Another reason, is I remember when I was a couple of years into my chess journey, those struggles to hit my goals. I've always wished I had more help back then myself when playing. I believe it takes a great teacher/student match to excel and create a strategy together. Then moving forward, it gives both of us the confidence to succeed together. Overall, I'd say my ultimate goal is to help others in any way I can in this wonderful game of Chess.

I teach beginners, intermediate, and advanced players.

Advance players are those who play in tournaments and have a USCF (United States Chess Federation) rating between 1000-1799.

For advance players I offer a special package which includes a longer session, PGN (Portable Games Notation) of master level games and access to a chess Share drive.

Knowing the sewing machine, handle it to sew the clothes with the techniques.

As with crocheting, I can teach a range of students, from those with the beginning desire to learn to students wishing to hone specific techniques. My favorite techniques include in the round and double pointed needles, because who doesn't want to learn to avoid more sewing?

I enjoy introducing others to the joy of creating a beautiful project using needle and thread.

I typically work with adidas cloth and DMC floss, but have also done more creative projects with students including on larger material such as burlap with yarn or projects traced on fabric then completed using thread or yarn.

My goal is to help you learn the basics and then explore creatively to create something unique and individual based on your personal preferences and end goal.

You will learn steps of how to grow a flower or vegetable garden from seeds and bulbs or clippings. You will learn transplanting. You will learn to make floral arrangements ! You will also learn how to care for your plants, how to prune, water, feed and other specific nurturing steps in having a wonderful garden !
