Fiddle Lessons in Greencastle. Amazing Teachers.

I am a professional violinist/violist with extensive teaching experience in fiddle and classical violin.

My style is supportive, professional, and fun. You will be playing fiddle tunes and more very soon.

I have played in a couple of heavy giging country bands. I can show you how to learn how to improvise and take on some fiddle tunes.

The violin sings, but the fiddle dances. Or so the old saying goes! In teaching fiddle, I love to bring essential violin technique together with the various styles of diverse music. In the first few lessons we'll explore the style of fiddle you'd like to play and create a path towards that sound. As time goes on, you'll be ready to jump into a bluegrass jam circle, start a ceili or shred like Lindsey Stirling! The direction you take is up to you, and I'm excited to help you meet your goals!

Have you ever wanted to play fiddle, but never knew where to start? Do you have trouble learning correct technique, practice strategies, or struggle finding good repertoire to learn? Well, you've come to the right place!

In our first lesson, I will likely ask you to demonstrate your level to me, either by telling me or showing me what you know. I will use this to better understand your strengths and weaknesses and go from there. You can expect to come away from our first lesson with some learning materials, a plan for going forward, and an encouraging start to our journey as musicians together!

Some examples of things students can learn from me include: expanding repertoire, ear training, music reading, improvising, jamming, music theory, and technique.

My name is Oceana I am from Vancouver, Canada. I have been playing the fiddle for 23 years (since I was three years old). I believe that having a passion or hobby in your life especially introduced at a young age helps teach you how to reach goals, be creative, learn discipline and most importantly brings happiness! Music is a great way to express yourself and fiddling is all about fun and dancing!

I will teach you how to sing with your instrument and dance with your heart. It’s never too early or too late to start fiddlin! I teach all ages, from 3 to 103! Wether you have a classical background or you’ve never played before, or maybe you want your child to be a music prodigy, I’ll jump on your level and we will learn and have some fun together! I've been playing the fiddle for 26 years and have been teaching for 10 years. I welcome students of all ages and have taught people between the ages of 5 and 60. I started out learning with a fiddle teacher playing by ear and then later switched to a classical teacher so I have a broad range of music that I love. But my favorite style to play is fiddle music.
