Corey is a fantastic drummer! Take advantage of time at home while learning new skills, and this is a great way to stay active and keep your energy up. Corey has been drumming for a very long time and has an excellent positive attitude, you can't miss!

A great experience! I have been learning with Corey for about two months, and am already improving. I am a guitar player with some basic drumming experience. I was looking to finally get to the next level so I could record my own drum beats (also drumming always looked like a lot of fun!), and Corey is helping me to achieve this. He is a talented drummer himself, and was able to quickly assess my playing level so we could start building on it. He has a great eye and ear for issues with my technique and always has an exercise to address them. In a short time I have experienced significant improvement, playing some more creative drum patterns, and am looking forward to continuing.
A lot of fun, very fulfilling, great instructor! Highly recommended!

Corey is an awesome drummer....truly knows the heart and soul of his craft! He's patient and kind...all around a cool dude! Check him out!

I've been teaching acoustic guitar for 7 years (since I was a teen myself!). Within the first few lessons, you'll be able to read and play from basic tabs, and as time goes on we can work on songs you pick yourself. I generally don't teach guitar students to read sheet music unless they ask; this is because in the "real world" of playing musicians, guitarists rarely use actual sheet music except in a classical setting. I specialize in beginner and intermediate acoustic, pop, country and fingerpicking style. Students should have and bring their own guitar. I will work with students ages 6+, but I recommend waiting until close to age 10 for guitar, as it requires some hand size/strength to reach many chord shapes. Ukulele is a fun option for smaller kids 6+ and I teach that too!

About Maya

- I am classically trained in piano and music theory (attended college for both from the age of 15) and have a strong emphasis on music theory and good technique in my lessons, but I also understand the importance of ear training. I teach:
TENOR BANJO - MANDOLIN - TENOR GUITAR - ACOUSTIC GUITAR
Please go to the instrument listing and it will explain about that particular Instrument.

Hello,

I play 2 types of guitars:

Acoustic Guitar with 5 strings, DADGAD - Drop D & Standard tuning
&
Irish Tenor Guitar GDAE
A tenor guitar is smaller then a regular guitar, it has 4 steel strings.
It was initially developed in its acoustic form from Gibson and C.F. Martin so that the four-string tenor banjo players could double on guitar.
The tenor guitar has a distinctive style of its own. It can be heard in Country, Western Swing, Jazz, Contemporary Folk and Pop music.

I accommodate all students differently depending on their level, style of music they would like to learn and the pace that is easiest for them. You will learn melody and chords those are both essentials. We will work from a book as well as print outs and I will send you weekly recordings, you can feel free to contact me anytime between ...

I offer private in-studio lessons tailored to your level and goals. Learn to play lead, rhythm, jam, and/or improvise. We can approach learning by using tab, standard notation, or by ear.

We'll focus on tunes you want to play, or take a broader approach incorporating reading music, ear training and theory.

If you’re just starting, we’ll begin with basic technique (holding the pick, strumming), playing chords and playing simple melodies.

When I started taking lessons with Max, I knew three chords and very little about music theory. I never thought I would get past G-C-D. His patience and structured lessons helped me become a better player. Max is very encouraging and that was most appreciated. I have more confidence in my playing thanks to him. I even understand the circle of fifths!

"Paul is really patient, encouraging, and accommodating to my work schedule. At the same time, he is easy to talk to, and I have a lot of fun at all of my lessons! He’s clearly very knowledgeable about guitar and a wide variety of music styles. He listens to my goals and tries to relate his lessons to my interests to keep me engaged. Since I started a couple months ago, I’ve definitely noticed improvement, and he’s given a lot of structure and meaning to my practice sessions. Also, I had been developing some bad habits during my brief time trying to learn guitar myself, so I really appreciate that he points them out and helps set me on the right track. Overall, totally worth it and would recommend him to anybody!"

"We've briefly tried guitar instructions at a studio and in my home and weren't really happy with either. Decided to give it another go and were very lucky to find Rebecca.
My 10 year old grandson is learning to play an electric guitar whereas I favor the acoustic. Instead of doing 2 separate half hour lessons, Rebecca let us combine them into a single hour that we take together. Doing the lessons together makes it easy to see how Rebecca makes adjustments to each person's abilities and instrument. A number of the songs in the music book are made for 3 separate guitars, which makes it more enjoyable/interesting as each one of us (including Rebecca) take turns playing a different guitar's section at the same time.
A real down to earth individual that is both joyful and serious. I keep coming up with questions regarding music and playing the guitar. Whether its part of the lesson or not; she is always provides me with an answer that is easy to understand.
I would highly recommend Rebecca as an instructor."

"I have a great time learning with Ahmad , because he knows an amazing amount about music, the guitar, performance, and recording. I throw questions about him about frets, intonation, tuning, chord naming, pick angle, string gauges, fingering, chord voicing. He's consistently humble about his knowledge, and then tells me everything I could want to know on the subject. When I ask about players I like, he's completely familiar with how those players play. It seems like half the time he's had my favorite players as his own instructors.

Best of all, Ahmad really loves music. He's genuinely thrilled at my improvement, and is very respectful of what I already know and how I already play. I've been playing the guitar for a long time, but Ahmad got me excited about making music."

"Maria has taught my son for the past 5 years; 4 years in person, 1 year (so far) on Skype. We found her through a referral and it was the perfect fit. She was very attentive to his learning abilities and ambitions. He loves guitar but didn't want to play professionally however she never backed off on him. He has learned many styles and has gone through all levels of the Mel Bay Guitar series. James could easily have gone on to college and he plays better than some in the music program at his school, but instead he just keeps up with it for fun. Maria hooked him up with the guitar teacher at his college so he plays in the guitar ensemble, jazz band, and a worship band while taking FaceTime lessons with her once a week. He's studying to become a pediatrician but I'm so thankful Maria has really helped make music a lifelong outlet for him. James choose a very stressful path but I truly believe the guitar has helped keep everything balanced."
