I teach all forms of literacy including listening, speaking, writing, and reading English. I teach grammar, phonics, word recognition and comprehension, vocabulary, spelling, and effective, expressive, and creative writing skills. I have been an avid reader and writer ever since my elementary school days. At college, I received a perfect score on my departmental English exam. I have three education degrees: A double bachelor's in elementary education and music, and a Master's Degree in Reading and Curriculum. I am presently a Mesa Laubach Literacy Council Board Member and Tutor. I love to help students become more proficient in the English language.

I received six hours of college credit in English from Trinity University based upon my entrance exam scores. As a substitute teacher I have taught English and Language Arts at all levels from kindergarten through high school. I have tutored students in English and Language Arts at all levels. My daughter was diagnosed with expressive language disorder. I tutored her extensively in English throughout elementary school, middle school, high and college. She graduated from Texas Lutheran University with degrees in Accounting, Finance and Business Administration in 2010.

I started my teaching career when I was a college student. In Japan, I taught both English and Japanese to middle and high school students at a private academy.
I have also taught Japanese and English to adults especially the spouses stationed in Japan and also American community college. I have a Master of Education in TESL; therefore, I’ve taught English more vigorously, but know what it takes to be successful at second language acquisition. I really find it rewarding to teach those who are interested in a foreign language and culture.

I like to get to know your learning styles and what motivates you. I will cater to your needs and make your own lesson plan just for you.

As a Fulbright alumni living in New York for nearly a decade I feel comfortable teaching English to non native of any country, especially to Italians that want to improve their knowledge of the English language.
