Thanks to my background in Phonetics/Linguistics and Education, I am able to target specific pronunciation issues and practically how to fix them. I love teaching and mentoring, especially in regard to language as I am a language learner myself. I have spent time as an Au Pair in Italy, where my main job was teaching Italian children the English language. After spending time in a small, non-English speaking town in Italy, I understand the difficulty that comes with learning a language (especially Italian!) and the best strategies that have worked for me and people I know. Thanks to my education background, I also know the strategies proven to be more effective and lasting. My second language is Italian and I understand a bit of Spanish as well.
Perche studiavo educazione e logopedia all'università, sono un esperto della pronuncia inglese. Non solo questo, ma anche come pronunciamo le parole praticamente. Adoro insegnare, soprattutto le lingue perché sto imparando le lingue ...

I'm an experienced Italian teacher - I was born and raised in Italy and I graduated from the University "La Sapienza" in Rome with a Master Degree in Italian Literature and History. I've been teaching Italian and Italian history for the past 10 years of my career. Both in Colleges here in the U.S.A. and online.
I offer a very proficient method of learning. Part of the lesson would be focused on the grammar and writing, part of the lesson would consist in one to one conversation. Depending on the level of my students, we would develop the vocabulary on a daily basis and I can guarantee my students will be able to have a conversation in Italian within just a few lessons!

Ciao/ Hello! My name is Francesca. I was born and raised in Italy. I have been teaching Italian since 2008 at levels ranging from beginner to advanced and to all ages. My lessons are fun, dynamic, and flexible. They intended to develop speaking, listening, writing and reading skills and offer fun conversation on a variety of topics. Students learn the language through practical examples of daily life situations. Each lesson can be tailored to the students’ needs. I have also tailored my lessons for students that want to learn the Italian language for traveling purposes. Learning a language goes hand in hand with understanding the culture. My lessons are focused on using the Italian culture to provide the setting that helps the students learn the language and feel comfortable and confident when speaking to native Italian speaking persons.

needs. In addition to grammar, dictation, homework, Francesca focuses on advanced readings from Italian stories to newspaper articles, and on only speaking Italian. To improve our speaking we start with students telling about their week and/or making oral presentations to the class based on an Italian news article a student has found of interest. These presentations provide an opening for more conversation and for identification of lots of new vocabulary. Francesca is patient and makes sure we each participate. The environment she creates is one where it's OK to make mistakes and where we can have fun learning and laugh with each other. Francesca's sense of humor makes our classes even more fun.
