Most of my Euphonium students are coming from a different instrument (Trumpet, Trombone, Baritone, etc.). After learning how to play the 4-Valve Euphonium, we focus on school music. As the student gets more advanced, the focus shifts to advanced competition solos for Honors Band, etc.

We also have an online meeting for groups to get to know each other, and do a group warm up online. My students are all really cool and get along with each other great. I can’t wait to have you join us!

About Chuck

R. Chuck has a music performance Bachelor's Degree from Duquesne University (Pittsburgh, PA). He also received his Music Teacher Certificate from Penn State University (Main Campus). Mr. Chuck worked as a Professional Trombonist for 5 years with Royal Caribbean, traveling all over the world.

My daughter recently started taking Piano lessons with Mr.Dan. During the first class, Mr.Dan analyzed her level of expertise and interests in music to understand where she stands. Based on that, he suggested a plan for her to learn further. It works well and she is all excited now. We look forward to many future lessons. We highly recommend him.

I come from a classical piano background but have found a ton of joy in contemporary styles (pop, rock, jazz, etc). I also enjoy arranging, so if there's a song you like that isn't written for piano, we can write out our own version. It's a great opportunity to learn about voice leading, inverting chords, modulation, etc. If you want to build strong foundational skills by using both theory and ear training concepts, I think you'll learn a lot from my approach. If you're a complete and total beginner, or someone more experienced looking to widen their repertoire and learn more theory, I can teach you!

About Rae

Hi! My name is Rae and I've been teaching professionally since moving to Chicago in 2012. I graduated from Berklee College of Music with a degree in Professional Music, focusing on Music Education and Performance. For the last two years, I've been teaching drums, piano, and voice at School of Rock

My mission is to help students reach their fullest potential as singers and to build their confidence in the process. Lessons focus on each student as an individual and can encompass anything from vocal technique and song repertoire to audition coaching and even recording sessions to help the students with a project or to help them simply hear the subtleties in their voice more clearly as they train and grow.

Vocal Technique covered includes:

Range Building, Tone & Color, Vocal and Musical Dynamics, Diction, Releasing the Jaw, Opening Up the Sound, Body Conditioning For Singers and finally, Breath Support*

*I teach breath support in a way most teachers do not. I help students gain strong abdominal muscles and teach them how to use them to sing with more power and control. Rather than releasing the belly (as most teachers recommend) I show students how to breathe into their backs and use all three lobes of the lungs (upper, middle, lower). This allows them to keep the abs ...
