I am an award winning, Gretsch Guitar endorsed, fulltime musician who teaches both guitar and bass, all levels, all styles. So many people complain that learning to play guitar or bass is complicated and confusing, I have done away with all the mumbo jumbo and get to the heart of the music and make it easy to understand!

I've been teaching lessons since 2005. In the guitar lesson, we will learn basic chords and note reading and playing. You will learn to play the individual notes in the song as well as play chords.

Learn how to play many styles of guitar, including Rock, Blues, Jazz, Country and Suzuki guitar. Through one on one instruction, students will learn scales, improvisation and solo phrasing, note reading, theory, chords and chord progressions. In addition, students will also learn how to play their favorite song/s, whether it be Led Zeppelin, Greenday, Wes Montgomery, Miles Davis or Stevie Ray Vaughn. Through the useful tools on line and the many great music software programs that are now available, students will find learning a song to be very easy and enjoyable.!

Guitar lessons with me are unique because although I am young, I am a very experienced teacher already. I started learning guitar at 10 years old. By the time I was 16 I was gigging and teaching kids in my neighborhood and any Craigslist clients I could find. At 18, I took a 1.5 year program at the Los Angeles College of Music, where I graduated with an AA in guitar performance. Since then I have worked as a professional musician, and also as a teacher /consultant with Adopt the Arts, a non profit started by Matt Sorum (drummer of Guns N Roses, Hollywood Vampires) and director Abby Berman. In my time at Adopt the Arts I have amassed over 4000 teaching hours of teaching kids ages 4-13, so I am very experienced with kids and get along with them great since. I have also been giving other private lessons to people of all ages since 2011. My main focus throughout my career can be broken down into 3 categories:

-Technique
-Knowledge of the fretboard
-Chord and Scale knowledge

I guarantee that if you are comfortable with these 3 areas, you will be able to play whatever you want, any style, any genre. Of course once the basics are finished we can then move into the specifics of your chosen style or chosen combination of styles. For example:

-Jazz-
We would start to focus more on larger chord voicings as well as a more complex scale language. Heavy emphasis on improvising

-Blues-
Less of an emphasis on chords and more on soloing, specifically articulation techniques like bending, sliding, vibrato, legato (hammer ons/pull offs), basically all of the things that will make you sound "bluesy"

-Singer/Songwriter-
Less emphasis on lead playing and more on keys, chord voicing, and chord progressions. Also song structure and melodic note choice.

-Metal-
