About Cyndi
Cyndi has been very successful as a singer/songwriter, artist developer, producer and teacher. Originally hailing from Dayton, Ohio, she has resided in Los Angeles for many years. She has performed all over the United States and the world as an artist singing on cruise lines such as The Royal Carribean, Carnival, NCL etc., and has shared the stage with The Jackson's, Barbara Striesand, Stevie Wonder, CeCe Winans and many others.

As a teacher, Cyndi has taught "Vocal Technique" to students of all ages ranging from 5-70 for the past 25 years. She was Youth and Young Adult Music Director for Crenshaw Christian Center, one of the largest mega churches in America, as well as A&R for their record label. As a songwriter/producer/artist developer on staff for 12 years, she produced numerous CD projects. Her song, "The Power of Faith," that s
he wrote for the Ever Increasing Faith broadcast can be heard all over the world daily on both television and radio. Because of her meticulous instruction, many of her students have gone on to obtain professional careers in the entertainment and music industry. Keisha Renee is currently a The Voice 2017 Team Blake competitor and has been back up singer and opener for the amazing R & B singer, JoJo. Keisha has also sang backups on the P Diddy 2016 Bad Boy reunion tour, she's also a member of Team Minaj as Nicki Minaj's main back up singer as well as numberous others. Julia Michaels, is currently one of America's leading songwriter/vocalist having sold 50 million copies of her songs worldwide and her newest single "Issues" has topped the Billboard chart. Julia was also the first American to ever sing for the closing ceremonies of the 2016 Olympics. Amber Riley, another of her students, was a main cast member playing "Mercedes" on the 10 year Award winning TV show, "Glee" and is currently playing the lead role of "Effie" on the Broadway musical, "Dream Girls".

As a teacher, I get immense satisfaction from seeing my students excel and fly using the techniques and tools that I have taught them," Cyndi says beaming with pride. "My students have done tremendous things in the industry and it is my pleasure to continue to pass down the nuggets of wisdom and skill that I've obtained from over 30 years in the entertainment business."

Cyndi's training began at age 8 where she studied classical piano for 6 years. By age 15, she and her brother released their first independent single which did reasonably well locally. By age 19, while studying music at Ohio University, she along with her brother won "Right On" magazine's nationwide talent search and were offered two major recording contracts. She decided to sign with Philadelphia International Records under the auspices of Grammy Award winning producer, Thom Bell (who was recently inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame). She studied under Thom Bell and it was there that she learned the art of record production. She also studied vocal production under legendary Grammy Award winning producer, Hal Davis (Jackson five fame). Cyndi was taught proper vocal technique by vocal trainer to the stars, Seth Riggs and continued her private studies learning the vocal techniques of the great Alan Linquist. Her teaching style has subsequently morphed into a combination of all these great inspirational instructors.

As a teacher, Cyndi is kind, patient and extremely enthusiastic when it comes to instructing her students. Her students always see her as their friend and one who they know will bring out the best in them and desires that they grow to their fullest potential.

*** Lesson Details ***
When you come to Cyndi for voice lessons, you can rest assured that your vocals will never be the same. She is as comfortable teaching the beginner as she is instructing the seasoned professional who wants to hone their skills even further. She can always bring something out of you that you didn't know was there. Maybe it's the confidence that she exudes when she instructs, maybe it's her innate ability to know what's needed at any given time to make the student better. But whatever it is, you can rest assured that your lesson will be fun, thorough, and the lesson plan that she devises will cause you to arrive at the musical goals that you've set for yourself. She can help you or your child prepare for upcoming auditions, as well as any other scheduled performance. Cyndi will create a lesson plan that will certainly be tailor-made for your style and needs.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I can bring my Cd player to play tracks etc....the student should have a recording device to record the lesson, whatever performance tracks we'd be working from, and a keyboard would be helpful but not necessary.

*** Specialties ***
My style of vocal training concentrates on singing in the 'Ng" position and using cuperto as the primary way to produce more tone with less effort. I also train my students to breath properly utilizing the lower lumbar area along with breathing from their diaphragm. I generally train vocal students in all genres of music and I stress stage presence in conjunction with proper vocal technique.

Sarah was a fantastic teacher!
I am 22 years old and have never had a singing lesson before, although I previously played the saxophone and piano and therefore had some musical background. During our 5 lessons I had more fun than I could have imagined while learning important skills regarding warming up, breath support, and stylistic choices while singing. She helped me get over my nerves and not feel so silly singing in front of others - something I've always felt self-conscious about. I would absolutely recommend Sarah to any adult wishing to learn how to sing!

About Nicholas
I am 31 years old actor-singer-writer-teacher-podcaster. I was born and raised in North Huntington, Pennsylvania. I knew at a very young age that I wanted to pursue a career in the arts. I believe that music fosters self-expression, intelligence, and creativity, and I cannot imagine a life without it.

Teaching music, acting, and singing is something that brings me great joy, I am passionately committed to my students and love the challenges and rewards that teaching has to offer!

Training and Experience:

I am a classical trained singer and musical theater actor. I studied vocal performance at Slippery Rock University with Dr. Colleen Gray. While I was at Slippery Rock I had the opportunity to perform in a variety of plays, musicals and operas.

My favorite roles include Seymour Krelbourn in Little Shop of Horrors, Cliff Brads
haw in Cabaret, and Jacques in Shakespeare's As you like it. I also had significant roles in Slippery Rock's main stage operas including King Melchior in Amahl and the night Visitors and Dr. Falked in Die Fledermaus.

I've also had the opportunity to perform in Bellini's i capuleti e i Montecchi (The Capulets and the Montagues) with the Pittsburgh Opera Chorus at the Benedum Center. After college I performed at Busch Gardens Williamsburg as a singer in their Italian shows as well as their Christmas Show.

In the past 8 years, I have performed in operas, plays and musicals regionally around the country including Florida, New Hampshire, Connecticut and New York City

Since my return to Pittsburgh, I played have played Reverend Shaw Moore in The Lamp Theater's production of Footloose. More recently, I just finished a productions of The Hunchback of Notre Dame in February and Disney's Tarzan with Pittsburgh Musical Theater.

This Summer, I will be returning to the The Lamp Theater to play Teen Angel in their production of Grease.

I taught private voice in college and at The Centerstage Academy of Performing Arts when I lived in Williamsburg. I recently moved back to Pittsburgh after living in New York City for just under three years. and I am ready to get back into private teaching!

I specialize in teaching classical voice, musical theater, audition preparation, monologue preparation, and performance preparation. I have taught students both individually and in a group setting. The ages of my students have ranged anywhere from third grade to men and women into their sixties. As someone who has been in the business for a little over six years, I am confident that I have the tools to teach and prepare any student who has the passion, commitment and work ethic that it takes to succeed.

About Amy
I am a professional ballet dancer with the American Contemporary Ballet in Downtown Los Angeles! I have danced with them for three seasons, and before that I graduated from UNC School of the Arts with a BFA in Ballet.

My students can expect to improve after just one class, and will continue to improve more and more with every week. Every student has their own strengths and weaknesses and I will help with their confidence in their own dancing! I believe that dance is a wonderful art form that can be taught to anyone at any age. For younger students I will focus on imagery and making each step more fun with games, for older students I will focus on the anatomy of the body and why each step should be performed a certain way. It’s such a satisfying workout as you can see every little improvement after each class!

I also teach a barre
workout class which is a blend of Pilates and ballet. It’s less of the artistry in ballet, and more of exercises that target the little muscles that you don’t even know you have! With this class, you’ll see a change in your body in just a few classes.

With these classes, I am available to teach online courses. For ballet the class will be focused on vocabulary and anatomy of the body. This is important as ballet starts with knowing the names of all steps and knowing how our body moves in the way it does! For an online barre workout class, I will guide the student through all of the exercises as if we were together in the same room. This is still highly beneficial as I will push you to your limit and give you new exercises every class!

I trained professionally in classical ballet under the Vaganova method from age 5 to 18 at Manassas Ballet Academy in Northern Virginia. While training there, I had the opportunity to compete in an international completion (YAGP) where I placed in the top 12 five years in a row, and received numerous full ride scholarships to several of the top ballet schools in the country.

After high school, I went on to further my studies in ballet at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. While there, I spent three years intensively learning to teach ballet to all levels. I am very comfortable teaching any level of dancer and am confident that I can coach any student to where they want to be!

Once I graduated from school, I immediately moved to LA to dance for American Contemporary Ballet. While with the company, I have performed numerous soloist roles such as Lilac Fairy from Sleeping Beauty and Snow Queen in the Nutcracker.

I look forward to meeting you and helping you become a better dancer!

A friend of mine recommended Amy to me, and I'm glad she did! Although my skills were far from advanced, Amy made me feel like a principle dancer. I grew up in Idaho, but these days I'm thrilled to have an extensive stage career as an actor in primarily Shakespeare and new work, working off-Broadway and in major regional theatres like the Alabama Shakespeare Festival. I'm a proud member of Actor's Equity, and a represented client of a top NYC agent-- both achievements I received right out of college after booking a major regional show.

Like many of my students, I grew up in a small town (mine was in Idaho) before the acting bug bit. I learned to love auditioning early, earning acceptance into Interlochen Arts Academy, the top high school performing arts boarding school in the country at age 15. After thriving there, I was accepted into a handful of top college theatre programs, ultimately choosing to study at Fordham University in New York City, where I graduated summa cum laude. S
ince then, I haven't stopped auditioning!

Now that you know I know a thing or two, here's how you'll know I'm a good fit for you:
-- You're interested in feeling more confident in auditions or onstage.
-- You're willing to take chances with me in a safe, caring environment.
-- You want a partner who will invest in your progress.
-- You're open to learning from me, and allowing me to learn from you.
-- You're trying to figure out where you fit as an actor.

Becca is the bomb! I've done a couple of Shakespeare plays, but she taught me a lot about the text and the history of the play that I didn't know. She helped me create a subtext to the whole monologue, so I always had actions to take even without a scene partner there. I want to do a Falstaff monologue soon, and I definitely want her to help me with that, too.
