Experienced music teacher with nearly 10 years experience teaching students of all ages and abilities from beginner to advanced. I also have experience teaching music to students with special needs, including autism and total vision impairment. I begin accepting students for guitar at age 4 and teach students up to age 99+. The ukulele is a great instrument for any age, but especially good for very young students or folks with smaller hands that find guitar too challenging to handle. With lessons from me, you'll learn to read music and understand tab, develop your ear for hearing music (ear training), music theory, and technique with a goal of getting you playing your favorite style of music in the quickest time possible. I can teach you to play whatever style you wish. I can even help you learn to compose your own music! As a new student, there is nothing better than learning to make music. There isn't a better instrument to learn on because it is inexpensive, portable and honestly so much fun!

Believe it or not, you can make a great deal of progress with a little bit of time each day. Once I decided to pick it up as regularly as I could, even if it was literally only 5 minutes, it was clear I was on the right path.

I started when I was 50 having never played an instrument before which has helped me teach others understanding all of the challenges of learning to play.

Sharing the ukulele with my friends and family helped me realize how much I wanted to share it with others. What could be better than sharing the joy of making music?

When I was growing up, we all learned ukulele in Elementary school - when Uke started making its resurgence these last couple of years, I was quick to jump in and start teaching this super-fun, portable, "easy to get started" instrument! Play songs, accompany yourself singing - be the life of every party!

I start many children ukulele initially, whose hands and bodies are too small to begin guitar. We can build on their knowledge and musical journey keeping both instruments in mind (not necessary however) as they grow and mature into guitar.
