Classical Piano Lessons in East Petersburg. Amazing Teachers.

I have been playing piano since I was 6 years old! I love to work with beginner students and give them the tools to be a great piano musician. It's also very energizing for me to work with intermediate students to hone your skills. I focus on proper technique, basic music theory, and a wide variety of repetoire, all while having fun together! I cant wait to help you learn to play.

I typically begin students on traditional method books, and then move to more classical repetoire, supplementing with pieces or genres that the student has interest in!

Typical lessons will include warm ups (scales, arpeggios, other techniques to warm up the fingers), working on repetoire (may include folk songs, broadway/disney, pop, classical, sacred), music theory (note and rest values, key and time signatures, interval recognition, ear training, note recognition, etc.)

Materials that students will need are a piano/keyboard of their own, two lesson/recital books recommended by me, and a theory ...

I will develop and strengthen rhythm, music pitch, melodic and harmonic sight reading, articulation, and proper piano technique.

I have taught private piano lessons to beginner, intermediate, and advanced students for nearly 10 years. My music degree is from Berklee College of Music, and I have played piano for over 30 years. I enjoy helping children, teens, and adults find joy in making music with correct technique and a solid foundation in music theory.

I've been teaching piano for over 20 years. My background is in classical, musical theater and pop, so whatever your musical goals--I'll help you to achieve them. I believe in a stress-free approach to learning piano and my students will tell you that my first priority is that piano lessons are fun and educational. I include lesson books in my lesson rates, so there are no lesson books to purchase. I'm looking forward to seeing you at the piano!

With 10 years of teaching experience, and a Master of Music in Piano Performance, my students can expect a refined pedagogical approach designed to teach them conservatory-level core competencies every musician should know up to advanced techniques.

In our first lesson, we will carefully map a trajectory that will get you to your goals. The way my approach differs from many teachers is I don't approach every student with the same methodology, but instead rely on your interests to build a methodology together.

This will usually include: piano literature ranging from classical to modern genres, composition, music theory, ear training, sight reading, transposition, improvisation, accompanying techniques, and other skills depending on what my student needs. Students who enroll come from all walks of life. Some are hobbyists; some are children; some are working professionals, and some are seasoned musicians looking to better their craft.
