Hello! I would love to help you grow as an artist and reach your fullest potential. I am a Voice Teacher and Acting Coach with nearly 10 years of experience.
As your voice teacher I tailor your lessons to meet your needs. I will guide you through the proper way to warm up your body, breath and voice. We will focus on technique to improve your breath support, stamina and range. I will provide you with tips and tricks to sing in any style while still staying true to your natural voice.
Even the greatest singers don’t sound their best if they are singing the wrong songs. After getting to know you and your voice I will make repertoire suggestions that challenge you and let you SHINE!
Singing is so much more than sounding good...singing is storytelling! I will be your guide in discovering the meaning behind every word and note and help you to convey the story to your audience.

Born in the Midwest, I spent seven graduate years in Paris performing, teaching, and researching. I have come to see music lessons as both a personal process of body awareness and harnessing mental energy, and as an interpersonal process of exploring the dynamic between student and teacher. I currently sing with the Minnesota Chorale and the Bach Society of Minnesota.

When I first begin teaching a student, I tell them that everyone has the ability to sing well no matter his or her experience. I also tell them that there are four things that a good singer must have: breathe control (air is your fuel, and must be used efficiently and effectively to give you the best sound), posture (in order to have access to your air and prevent vocal damage you must practice good posture habits), diction (how you pronounce words when singing can impede or improve vocal tone, as well as help or hinder the audience in understanding the lyrics) and finally and most importantly, passion. Passion is how emotionally connected you are to music and is what really allows the singer to connect with his or her audience.

Over the past 12 years, we've given over 3,000,000 lessons to happy customers around the world.

I started working with Jameson well over a year and a half ago. Jameson has helped me to find my voice, quite literally. Through our weekly sessions he helped me find a deep, rich, bass voice that I didn't know I had. Using the Alexander technique, my posture improved and the richness of my voice came out. I have so appreciated his patience, kindness, and ability to give me space as I figured out how my voice worked. I would HIGHLY recommend Jameson as an intuitive teacher who works at the student's pace. I have learned so much from him."

Let’s face it: singing in front of an audience isn’t easy. Vocal beginners and experts alike all need a confidence boost from time to time, especially before taking the stage. Even if you know a song inside-and-out, if you don’t feel confident then it’s hard to perform at your full potential. Sometimes, just a few positive words can make all the difference. Whether you could use motivation to keep singing, or you’re looking to inspire a friend, there are countless confidence pick-me- …

Sing it with me! A kiss on the hand may be, quite continental, but MICROPHONES ARE A SINGER’S BEST FRIEND! That’s how that goes, right? I’m only halfway kidding. The wonderful thing about microphones is that they can make you sound phenomenal. Misuse them though, and you could have a bit of a mess on your hands, metaphorically speaking. So, what is the best way to use a microphone and how can you make it make you sound even better? Let’s start with the basics. As a singer, it’s …

There are so many tips for singers out there -- but did you know some of them may not be actually true? Here, Ann Arbor, MI voice teacher Elaina R. dispels some of the common myths about singing... “It’s bad luck to say ‘Good Luck’ before a performance.” “Don’t eat chocolate! It clogs your vocal cords.” “A bad dress rehearsal leads to a good show.” We singers toss around myths more than most. It’s important, however, to recognize which ones are just for fun …
