I help my students build a strong foundation in the fundamentals of trumpet playing using my own material, classic books from the trumpet pedagogy, and contemporary songs. I make an effort to find out what music the student is interested in and what they find enjoyable to play and shape the lesson plan around that. I find this approach makes the instrument fun to play!

I am an audiophile that enjoy all types of music and have experience playing in a wide variety of genres like jazz, rock, pop, ska/reggae and classical.

Experienced Music teacher of 8 years available for eager students of all experience levels and ages! I structure my lessons so students learn what they want to learn, while also building a strong foundation of their instrument and theory skills. I specialize in all styles. Typically, I use a variety of method books to pick from to meet the needs of the students. I also have many tools available to use during lessons.
My students have gone on to NYSSMA and on to college auditions successfully!

Students can expect focused instruction in all aspects of trumpet playing from an experienced trumpet doubler, including different styles, common trumpet doubles (cornet and flugelhorn), and fundamental techniques.

Learning to play the trumpet is a rewarding experience. Many people think you need to be big and tough to play the trumpet. But it's quite the opposite - it is an instrument requiring precision coordination between the embochure (lips) and the fingers. It's more akin to precision surgury than an athletic competition.

I will help the student develop a good foundation to play the trumpet well. Everyone wants to play loud and high but developing a good sound is crucial before attempting advanced techniques. I will help the student make sure they are developing and progressing in the right direction.

I have been teaching Trumpet for 5 years, I am a second year Graduate student. (Prices have been reduced for Covid-19) I Specialize in growing beginner to intermediate players and intermediate players to advanced players. Another thing that I do is help motivate and help advanced musicians into great ones. Lessons are customized to the needs of each student.
