About Zach
I am a touring trumpet player currently working with SAINT MOTEL, and have experiences performing and touring all over the world. In addition to excellent musical education, I apply lessons I have learned from travel that I find truly help as an educational supplement.
Working at UCLA for my degree in music performance has taught me what it takes to be a good teacher, and I am patient, understanding, and believe there's no greater feeling than watching my students flourish. I like to take the time to get to know my students, and plan lessons around their individual needs, rather than plug them into a system set in ston
I perform jazz professionally in Los Angeles, and have spent time touring in playing in the San Francisco Bay Area, New York, the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Macedonia, Canada, and have performed or led groups internationally at the Umbria Jazz Festival, the North Sea Jazz Festival, the Montreux Jazz Festival, the Tuscia Jazz Festival, the Angel City Jazz Festival and the Monterey Jazz Festival. You can hear my original compositions and playing on bandcamp or soundcloud.

I am a professionally licensed music teacher and performing is one of my absolute favorite things to do! I have a lot of performing experience, especially in voice, whether solo or in a musical group. Just a few of these include a world premiere in Carnegie Hall, a concert series with the Illinois Symphony Orchestra, a chamber performance at an international university-level symposium, and several operatic roles at my university. I can help with any aspect of performance!

Are you a musician or singer? Would you like to discover the secrets of performance: confidence, charisma, and showmanship? Or, do you have a piece that you would like to sharpen for an upcoming performance? I hold a B.M. from Berklee College of Music and I have over thirty-three years' experience as both a performer and instructor. Furthermore, I've written extensively on the subject of performance with several books, CD courses, and articles in publication.
About Stan
I also have over four decades of experience as a professional jazz, rock, and theater musician. My experience has taken me from nightclubs to concert stages, as well as television studios, radio stations, and many recording studios.
Finally, I am a published author with several titles dedicated to helping musicians becoming the best they can be.
**** MY TEACHING STYLE ****
My teaching style is often referred to as laid-back, gentle, informative, and very supportive. My focus is on enrichment, encouragement, and results.
I don't work with “one-size-fits-all” methods. Each lesson is customized to mak
I teach real music -- students begin playing music they love almost from day-one. For example, many of my piano and guitar students pride themselves on learning to play every song on the Beatles One album ... playing right along with the CD! Reading, playing by ear, improvisation (jamming), singing while you play ... there are so many ways to play and avenues to explore in music.
**** MY STUDIO ****
My studio is spacious (very spacious – no cubicles here!), well-appointed, and very quiet. Unlike music stores and multi-lesson facilities, there are no other lessons on the premises, no drummers going crazy on the other side of the wall. This means students can concentrate better and learn faster. There is also plenty of room for parents and siblings who may wish to sit in on lessons.
**** STYLES / GENRES ****
I believe that students make the most progress learning music they love and I am very happy to teach every student the style of music he or she loves most.
My most requested genres are: pop, rock, country, blues, classic rock, jazz, and classical. Some students arrive knowing exactly what they want, but most are happy to explore various styles that interest them in search of the perfect fit. It is not at all uncommon for a student to spend part of their lesson polishing up a Beethoven piece or jazz standard, then finish up playing the chords to “Hotel California” along with the CD. Another student might start off their lesson learning a Taylor Swift hit, then move over to doing some blues improvisation. Variety is a wonderful thing and it is highly encouraged!
**** MY STUDENTS ****
Over the years, I have taught students from four years old to eighty-somethings. I’ve taught absolute beginners (most of my students start from square-one), hobbyists, seasoned professionals, even a Grammy nominee and a Grammy winner! Many of my young students have gone on to perform in school bands / jazz bands and/or professionally. In all cases, they acquire a skill that will last for a lifetime and provide joy, enrichment, and satisfaction.
Do you have a song or two in your heart. Contact me today and I will help you reach your musical goals and have a good time doing it!

As a professional musician who has performed regularly for over 20 years, I often coach others. I act as an audience of one, watching and listening attentively. Then I give honest feedback that I think will help each artist improve their overall presentation. We discuss mental preparation, musical preparation, stage presence, points of stage and concert etiquette, and ways in which the performance can be improved. We run through everything as many times as desired or until we have a product that is mutually satisfying.

I have six years of experience as a solo and band performer, living and touring in Argentina as well as working and performing in the United States. I help musicians and singers work with their instruments, specifically doing both at the same time (piano and voice or guitar and voice) so that they can perform with ease, comfort, and confidence. Whether it is for original music, covers and working as a musician, or simply feeling more comfortable playing and singing, I am happy to work with you as a performer.

Music Criticism: How To Handle a Critical Audience
Years ago, I heard my first band would be featured in the local paper and I was so excited to read the article. I hurried home to read it and found that the short blurb was far from complimentary. A public critique like that can make you want to give up. I certainly wanted to hide under my bed for a week! However, I have learned how to handle criticism and continued to make music that makes me happy. In the time since then, I have been lucky enough to receive both criticism and positive revie … Read More
