About Jonathan
When I turned 8 years old, I began piano lessons. I started violin
at 9 and trombone at 10. After studying numerous instruments I am now proficient on the piano, electric/acoustic bass, and guitar. Having completed my tour of duty in the U.S. Army, I am currently on the Dean's list as a music/audio production major, and plan to continue my music education until I earn at least a masters in performance and composition. I started my teaching career at Milestones in Music, a local studio, as an independent contractor, and was able to gain valuable experience, and through my membership in the National Association for Music Education(NAfME) I was able to fine tune my curriculum. I am a former student member of the Grammy U Recording Academy, and have had opportunities to
award in music, the Grammy). I am the band leader at my church Montco Bible Fellowship. I have experience as an audio tech in the studio and for a live stage, and have consulted for organizations looking to setup a sound system/studio. I enjoy recording my own music in my home studio, and learning to play new instruments. I hope to pass my love for music to the next generation!

I am a very laid back instructor... as you will find out! I understand that not everyone learns at the same rate; however, I am a perfectionist and don't allow students to advance until they have learned a particular skill. I would rather a student take forever to learn a song, and practice it with good technique, than be able to play it right away with poor form and posture! I reinforce the value of working toward goals and celebrate with students when they reach them. I understand that every student has different interests and reasons for wanting to learn an instrument... I try to focus on the areas that are of interest to the student, because a student who is enjoying themself will excel. This does not mean that the subjects and skills that are not of interest will not be taught, because I also believe in being a well-rounded musician. I teach both jazz (theory/improvisation) and classical (composed) music.
*** Studio Equipment ***
My studio is currently not optimal for teaching... I hope to change this soon!!
*** Travel Equipment ***
I provide lesson books and other learning materials, but expect to be reimbursed. I expect the student to have their own instrument/equipment. Piano students are required to have a piano or a keyboard with 88 weighted keys (hammer-action), a piano bench and a pedal. Guitar/bass students must have an acoustic/electric guitar/bass with a strap or footstool, pick, and cable and amplifier if applicable! Digital audio students must have their own computer, Digital Audio workstation (software), digital audio interface, speakers/headphones and midi controller. ALL STUDENTS MUST PROVIDE A NOTEBOOK (college rule or staff)!!
*** Specialties ***
I specialize in classical and jazz piano! I am more than proficient at most production software including: reason, fl studio, ableton live... and other editing software such as sony sound forge, audacity, etc...

I'm a very laid back guy but I take my playing seriously. music is my life and there's nothing I enjoy sharing and expressing more. I learned to love playing guitar when I was 12 from the coolest guitar teacher ever. he had a vibe that i gravitated toward and encouraged me in just the right ways to get me believing in myself. I try to encourage my students the same way. music should be fun above all and sculpt my lessons to each students individual needs so that they are better equipped to succeed.

The guitar is my primary instrument, and I've been playing for close to 20 years now. I've studied with some incredible teachers (Tomo Fujita, Pat Martino, Pat Metheny, Dave Fiuzcynski, Don Glanden, Kevin Hanson) who have taught some incredible students (like John Mayer, Eric Krasno, Kurt Rosenwinkel, and B.B. King), and I aim to pass down that same valuable information to my students. I teach all areas of guitar and I specialize in jazz and blues. As a student, I experienced several different music education curriculums, and I'm highly focused on adapting my teaching style to best suit each individual student. Unlike a lot of private teachers and music stores, I teach the essentials of whatever route students want to take, whether it be intense studying and preparation for music school auditions or just learning the basics and being able to play your favorite songs. If you have any questions about anything at all, feel free to get in touch with me.
About Pete
In 2011, I successfully obtained my master's degree in Jazz Studies from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. The master's program was an intense submersion in music performance that shaped me into the musician that I am today. I was lucky to study with Don Glanden, Mike Kennedy, and Kevin Hanson.
I am also well versed in computer recording software and DAWs. I teach students how to use software programs such as Logic and Reason as well as notation software like Sibelius and Finale. With some basic training in these programs, I can teach a student how to effectively record and produce professional quality recordings so that a student can write, record, and produce their own music.
*** Lesson Details ***
Because I've studied with some legendary teachers who have taught some legendary students (like John Mayer), I'm able to pass on to my students the same knowledge that these incredible teachers passed on to me. I guarantee that I will be unlike any guitar teacher that you've had before. Along with instrumental training, I offer extensive lessons in music theory and ear training. My family is full of educators and I've experienced the teacher-student relationship from a young age. I am fully committed to developing lesson plans based on the route that a student wants to take, whether it's just learning the basics and playing along to your favorite songs or engaging in serious study and preparing for college auditions. I am available to teach at any location within the Philadelphia area.
*** Stylistic Focus ***
I specialize in jazz and blues. At Berklee, I was able to take instrumental labs that spent an entire semester focusing on the playing style of certain guitarists. I've taken the Wes Montgomery lab, the Pat Martino lab, the Jimi Hendrix lab, the John Scofield lab, and the Stevie Ray Vaughan lab.

About Blake
I have had the great fortune of having a dad who has been playing for over 30 years in all genres: rock, blues, classical, country, etc. My dad has taught me not only how to play guitar, but how to teach it to others in a way that makes sense; a way that makes learning guitar fun.
One major thing I have taken away from working, learning, and teaching with my dad is that technique is key! We do not teach to keep you coming back for years and years, we teach you how to ultimately learn by yourself usin
Without practical application of the skills we teach, lessons would be a bore. So, many times we find songs that exemplify the skill we are working on. This makes the learning process fun and educational at the same time!

Excellent customer service! I truly enjoy working with people who are looking to take up this wonderful instrument. Also the remote lessons are unique. My students get a combination of real-time coaching and personal customized video lessons. We start out with a goal -usually a song you want to learn- decide when we'll meet, and figure out how long it's going to take to get it the way you want.
the interaction between myself and my customers, especially beginners. Those lessons are the high point of my week.
About Paul
First thing is always to listen to the student and get a sense of their expectations. Once I understand what they want to do, lessons are created based on the student's skill, and expectations.
I studied with guitarist John LaGreca and am attending the Berklee school beginning in September 2018. I look forward to helping you reach your own goals as a guitarist!

I have always played guitar and enjoyed it. I have taught Guitar for Beginners, Intermediate, and Advanced Levels here in East Tennessee.

Hi, my name is Gulli :)
I'm a 26 years old guitarist and composer from Iceland! I finished my Master's degree in guitar from Yale two months ago and just moved to Tempe with my partner this month.
Since 2014, I have worked as a private guitar teacher, providing guitar lessons to students of all ages and abilities. I specialize in teaching classical, acoustic, fingerstyle, and electric guitar but I am open to any style you want to focus on!
If you are new to guitar playing I will get you started with the correct technique! I get so many students who've had bad teachers that taught them incorrectly giving the students bad tension problems and awkward hands. It can be difficult to change those bad habits but with me you can be sure you will be going the right direction from the get go :)
I love all sort of music and am open to all styles! If you are interested in composing your own music I can give you compositional lessons to help make your songs even greater!
Sincerely, Gulli ...

The Surprising Benefit of Learning Guitar Without Sheet Music
We've talked about how to read chords and tabs before on the blog -- but what about a new approach of learning guitar without sheet music at all?
