I've been playing the trombone for over 12 years, and bass trombone specifically for 3 years. I can also help you learn theory, ear training, sight reading, composition, or arranging! As a music educator, I've learned how to adapt my teaching to fit various learning styles and modalities. My lessons are tailored to you to fit your needs and help you grow as a musician. Specializing in beginning to intermediate students, but all ages are welcome. My joy as a teacher comes from seeing others improve, and I want to help all my students reach their musical potential. I have over twenty years' experience teaching private lessons on trombone (alto, tenor, and bass), euphonium, and tuba. I perform regularly with symphony orchestras, chamber ensembles, and popular groups in my area, and have performed, conducted, and lectured at the International Trombone Festival, the International Tuba-Euphonium Conference, and other major venues. While most of my teaching is at the university level, I also work regularly with students both younger and older than that. My high school students are frequently successful in auditions for all-state ensembles, college scholarships, and competitions. My focus in lessons is to help each student to develop sound fundamental playing skills and then teach students how to apply those to realizing musical goals.

As a trombonist, I have been playing my instrument for the past 16 years, as well as tuba, bass trombone and euphonium. I have had the opportunities to perform across the country and world with prestigious groups. Not only that, but have also been in the realms of music education, where I have been teaching music of all ages for the last 7 years. I taught privately in both New Mexico and Texas, and I have also been a band director teaching in Texas. I believe that every student has the potential to grow with the correct guidance and a great teacher-student relationship. If you are choosing to making music a hobby, that is okay, because these lessons will also build your life skill, such as responsibility, independence, and leadership. Those choosing to make music as a career, I will guide you to taking the correct path and aim to achieve your goals.

I am a 22 year old senior music media major (emphasis in trombone) at the illustrious Norfolk State University. I study with the tuba player for the Virginia symphony and had a few lessons with one of their trombonists. I have been playing trombone since 2010, started off on trumpet before then. I play for 2 bands currently, Hot Gumbo Brass Band which is a New Orleans second line band and Infinite Flava which is an r&b group. At Norfolk state I have been in the jazz band, jazz combo, marching band (assistant section leader 2018 and head section leader 2019 for the trombone section), and symphonic band. I am well rounded in all facets of music. From classical all the way to the old tailgate trombone days. I have learned a lot from my mentors and think I am more than capable of getting my students on the right track. I prefer to teach beginner and intermediate, one of the hardest things to teach beginners is the pedagogy, how to make music instead of just playing the right notes. I have
