"Great tutor."
- Gerald G.Cibolo, TX on 6/19/13
Tim was an excellent tutor for my teenage son. He was always on time for their tutoring sessions, very accomendating to our busy schedule, and was very patient with my student. Tim adjusted and flexed to my son's tutoring needs. Tim changed channels and assisted with English as well as with Spanish as my son's studying needs dictated. He challenged my son and taught him how to determine the answer; he did not just give my son the answers. My student received fantastic scores on his homework and tests after studying with Tim. My son and I are very pleased with Tim as a tutor; I think you will be, too. We recommend Tim to meet your tutoring needs.

My language lessons are customized to my student's needs and preferences.
When teaching Spanish I don't only focus on teaching the grammar and vocabulary but also on transmitting my culture as I introduce you to Spanish literature, movies from different Spanish speaking countries and also Spanish music. After all, there's a lot more to Spanish culture than soap operas!
Teaching Spanish in New York city gives me the opportunity to create situations of Spanish immersion for you, we can always select different Spanish locations in the city to practice lesson topics such as "asking for directions", "shopping", and so forth.

I first heard Spanish from my dad who's Colombian, so my lessons focus on communication via dynamic task-based activities! First you discover grammar functions & the meaning of vocab through simple comprehension activities. Then we practice these new items through conversation questions or communication activities that simulate real-life tasks like ordering food, asking for directions, or describing a person. This creates a fun atmosphere for learning and gives students ample opportunities to speak! I also like to use multimedia like videos, pictures and powerpoints to make lessons more interactive, especially online lessons! For beginners, I use the book Spanish Demystified or Easy Spanish Step by Step as a learning resource and to provide grammar homework.
Besides speaking, my lessons also cover the other aspects of a language: Reading, writing and listening comprehension. I target those skills with activities such as short readings & writing assignments for homework, and themed ...
