Tom has a music degree focused in guitar performance and a combined professional teaching and performance career that spans over twenty years.
Tom began teaching in 1994 and still practices today instructing students of all ages on guitar and bass techniques, as well as music theory.
Tom is very laid back and embraces working at the pace that each of his students feels most comfortable. Lessons are about the student’s ambitions. If it is learning their favorite songs or a deep dive into music theory, jazz improvisation or songwriting it can be covered in strides that seem fit to the student. Books can be used for guidance and a custom lesson plan created that will fit specific criteria desired to be achieved by the student. Remember, practice makes perfect. The more you put in, the more you will get out of it!!

Ryan is professional and easy going at the same time. So far so good. I'm excited to keep going.

Ryan takes his time and tailors my lessons specifically to my level and to the type of music I’d like to play. He covers everything from the basics – like the proper way to hold the pick – to more advanced teachings like music theory. Ryan is flexible, patient, easy going, and he consistently teaches at a pace that I’m comfortable with. He provides take-home practice after every lesson and always has helpful suggestions any time I have questions. What I find incredibly helpful is that at the end of the lesson Ryan will run through the take-home practice on his guitar and let me record it on my phone so it’s easier for me to remember. When I’m ready to practice the next day I just pull up his notes and the video and I’m ready to go!
It’s obvious that Ryan has a passion for music, and it shows in his lessons. I would easily give him my highest recommendation.

TESTIMONIALS "Jonathan's experience as a musician and teacher helped me advance tremendously in my ability to play guitar and understand music on a more advanced level. He's great at relating to his students and takes a genuine interest in their progress. " -Victoria L.
Playing country music is blast. My favorite artists to teach are Vince Gill, Willie Nelson Emmylou Harris and Chet Atkins, but I teach contemporary country music as well. We’ll go style specific rhythm and lead playing, how to play your favorite country riffs and full songs and for more advanced students, we’ll learn whole solos and Chet Style tunes. Happy pickin’!
I perform and teach guitar professionally. Music is my passion and I love to learn new music and help others learn it as well. I currently specialize in teaching classical guitar with a focus on building strong technique, ear training, and practical applications for using formal and contemporary music analysis skills.
I also love playing jazz and various styles of pop music. I try to bring a similar approach to teaching these as I do in my classical teaching. I want to work on answering questions the music asks of the performer; like how would you play a Country Swing song versus a Jazz Swing song, how would you approach a contemporary Spanish Guitar Suite versus a Baroque Guitar Suite, or how would you play a Taylor Swift song versus a John Mayer song.

Hello! I’ve been playing guitar for over half my life and teaching for five years now. My love for music has played a huge role in my life, and I love sharing this passion with my students. Whether you are wanting to learn how to perform, compose music, or play your favorite song, I promise to help you achieve your goal. I’ve taught a variety of ages, and I truly believe it's never too early or late to learn an instrument. Every student is unique in what they are wanting to learn, so I promise to structure each student’s lessons to fit their individual goals and interests. It's also very important to me that my students enjoy each and every lesson, so the student is in complete control of their learning.
Hello! I’ve been playing guitar for over half my life and teaching for five years now. I first began learning guitar at a young age, and my passion for music has grown ever since.
My musical education began with guitar and music theory lessons when I was ten years old and continued until I graduated high school. These lessons included songwriting, music theory, and many other topics related to guitar. I also learned a variety of musical genres, including classic rock, acoustic, pop, country, and a bunch more. Being exposed to such a wide range of artists and genres was an incredible experience because it allowed me to learn numerous techniques and musical arrangements. This is also where I fell in love with artists like John Mayer, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, and Eric Clapton. These influential artists played a huge role in sh
aping my guitar playing, songwriting, and technique. This also led to me joining a singer-songwriter trio called Two Beards and a Boy where I was the lead guitarist. We currently perform at city events, fundraisers, and numerous restaurants in the DFW area.
In middle school, I became the lead electric guitarist in my church’s band. I have also lead the worship service on multiple occasions and subbed in at different instruments as needed. I also began taking private vocal performance lessons where I learned how to read music, sight read, and other musical skills. I continued taking these lessons in high school, where I was involved in multiple nationally ranked choirs and performed at Carnegie Hall in 2016. Being involved in my high school's varsity choir not only honed my overall musical abilities but led to opportunities accompanying the choir as a guitarist.
My love for music has played a huge role in my life, and I love sharing this passion with my students. Nothing beats the excitement of a student as they’re able to play their first song. Whether you are wanting to learn how to perform, compose music, or play your favorite song, I promise to help you achieve your goal.

Also, it's very important to me that my students enjoy each and every lesson, so the student is in complete control of their learning. I have been working with children and youth for many years through the Upward Sports program, and I love building connections with all of my students to create a comfortable and fun learning environment.
As a college student at UT, I am very flexible with scheduling, so feel free to contact me about available times for lessons. I hope to hear from you soon, and please let me know if you have any questions!
Daniel was the most helpful teacher that I've ever had! He is extremely talented and was so prepared for every lesson. Even when I ran into error he was patient and helped me figure out what to do better next time. I recommend!

Daniel is an amazing guitar player, as well as a great young man! He will be an incredible teacher to any student as well as a role model.
All music lessons at WCGA combine solid instruction in music fundamentals with the student’s personal interests and goals. Guitar students will learn chords, scales, terminology, and technique along with note reading, chord progressions, and theory. Teacher duets are common in our lessons to develop listening and timing skills. Our guitar teachers make sure every student understands the fretboard in order to execute challenging melodies and riffs along with chords that are suitable for popular, rock, jazz and other styles of music. Teachers craft each lesson to incorporate the fundamentals of guitar playing with the personal interests of each student.

My two boys ages 8 and 9 started taking piano lessons with Nick about a year ago and they love it! He is very professional, always on time, and keeps them entertained the whole time! Although they are progressing at different rates, Nick is always patient and encouraging. I highly recommend Nick and his teaching abilities!

My two daughters have been taking guitar lessons with Nick for 2-1/2 years, both on acoustic guitar and electric guitar. He has even taught my younger daughter how to play the ukulele. Nick is an awesome guitarist teacher. My girls have learned so much from him - how to read and write music, bar chords, strumming patterns, music theory and all different genres of music (like jazz, classical and even reggae). Nick can listen to any song my daughters want to learn, then immediately put the notes down on paper and teach it to them. Under his tuition, they’ve performed solo gigs, in their school talent shows, and for and with their friends. My older daughter also plays electric guitar in a teenage rock band. Thanks so much, Nick!!
"I had the pleasure of having Adam instruct me the basics of acustic country guitar for a few months. By the end of the lesson , I was able to play three s
ongs from start to finish and was really happy about that! Adam is patient and skilled and I would definitely book him again for another session."
"Francesca is a wonderful teacher! She's very knowledgeable but shares that knowledge in a way that's easy to understand. I've been an amateur musician f
or over forty years and I've read a lot of books and watched a lot of videos. None of them explained the concepts we went over during our class as clearly and simply as Francesca. In fact, one of the things she explained had been staring me in the face for twenty or more years! She pointed it out and I had a "duh!" moment! She also has a great way of putting a student at ease and making you feel comfortable with her right away. It didn't feel like our first lesson together. Thank you, Francesca!"
"He is Awesome!"
"Jordan was very helpful right from the start. He listened to me on where I am at and where I want to be. He showed me a few things that we will work towar
ds and then helped me understand my instrument much better. Gave me some fun new things to practice before the next lesson. If you're looking for a lesson that is interactive and fun I recommend Jordan and the online thing is supper easy and handy. I don't think it could have gone any better. The lesson was 45 minutes and it felt like 10."
"Thanks for all of your help Wes!"
"Greg is awesome! He teaches you the basics and will teach you the songs you WANT to learn! It was an awesome experience to learn for him!"
"Very excited about her lesson plan."
"After working to live for many years, and after purchasing all the books, apps, and YouTube channels that seemed promising, I could never find the approac
h/perspective that could make the process of learning/playing the guitar not seem like an impossible amount of effort at the end of my day.
I've always wanted to be a musician, but it seemed impossible now that I turned 30 and had a corporate job. Eventually, I bought a new guitar, thinking it would my catalyst. 6 months passed and it had only become a talking piece in first dates, so I decided I needed to look for a musical aficionado.
Walking into Francesca's Studio, I felt immediately like I was in the right place.
In what I thought would take weeks, the 45 minutes I scheduled with her, we were playing and singing to some of my favorite songs.... I can't even explain how great this made me feel. I suddenly felt like I could actually achieve this bucket list dream of mine.
Francesca clearly has a talent in helping others pursue their musical dreams, and I'm excited to continue working with her to realize mine."
"I've been working with Ahmad for a little more than 2 years. I'm one of those folks that had the intention to learn guitar for many years, but never got
over the hump. The Summer that I started taking lessons with Ahmad, it really took off for me. He's fantastically talented and skilled, but he makes it clear that his abilities came with a ton of work, and he gives you a system to get the best results out of your own practice time. He'll work with you on any song, and seems to have a taste for just about any genre of music (especially if its got some good guitar). He'll teach you some theory and get you to read music, but patiently diet this out while recognizing your excitement to learn songs (at least, this is what I'm putting him through, and I imagine others would to). He'll give you practical drills for learning scales, chords, rhythm, etc., and find ways to overlay them so you can start to stitch things together. "Putting it all together" is still a work in progress for me, but I've been pretty happy with the results over the past 2 years, and I've iteratively "ratcheted up" my expectations for where it can all go, heavily due to Ahmad's encouragement. I hope to keep getting lessons from him for a long time!"
