Songwriting Lessons in Airville. Amazing Teachers.

As a professional singer/songwriter who has toured around the country, and licensed music to TV networks such as E!, MTV, Netflix, and more, you can expect to learn tips, techniques, and helpful exercises that you can use to write smart, unique songs that come from the heart. Some of the tricks I teach are ones I use personally to help me write. Expect to have fun, be challenged/out of your comfort zone, but to also feel more confident and accomplished in your songwriting abilities!

I am a professional songwriter with a passion for teaching the songwriting craft! My specialty is custom music, meaning that the majority of the songs that I am hired for professionally are tailored to something specific, meaning they tell me the style, and lyrical theme they are looking for, and I make it happen. I like to make my songwriting lessons just as customized, so that my students can learn what will be most valuable to them. We will analyze and utilize techniques that are being used in songs that speak to you, so that the original songs you write can measure up to the music that you love.

Lee is a singer-songwriter-guitarist and Katrina refugee with a penchant for folk songs. This Louisiana-born and classically-trained musician writes in a variety of roots, country and acoustic styles, self-produced and self-recorded.

In 2005 Lee survived a forced water-related relocation from New Orleans to Nashville, Tennessee, where she appeared frequently on writers nights around town, including the famous Bluebird Cafe (16+ performances).

I have many years of both teaching advanced music composition and songwriting as well as years of professional experience as a composer and producer. We will cover all aspects of composition and songwriting for any genre including analysis, harmonic/chord structures and progressions, approaches to melody, counter melody and counterpoint and how to apply these to various styles of music and composition, including arranging and orchestration from rock and pop to jazz and full orchestrations.
