Acrylic Painting Lessons in Airville. Amazing Teachers.

Hi! Are you frustrated with muddy and poor color choices in your paintings, the inaccurate drawing of your subject, and overall mediocrity? I will help you overcome the fear and frustration of painting with some sound color theory and drawing methods. You can learn to apply colors that are bold and fresh. As artists who continually learn, I believe there is no wrong in exploring colors. When we continue to paint, we learn what didn't work and apply what does work. That is how we improve! The more we practice in small steps, the greater our success!

As a teacher for 7 years one of my favorite things is bringing the arts into teaching. I've taught infants through adults, beginners and advanced, and the one secret I can absolutely tell you about learning, is if you are happy then you are going to learn a lot more! I'm excited to get to know you and make you smile!

Let me tell you a little about the Lessons I have to offer. I have specific curriculums for several categories such as Landscapes, Abstract, Still Life, and Portraits. One of my classes that is trending right now is "Flourish and Bloom" which a where we create an acrylic painting on canvas of a flower wreath with an inspirational word in the center. Experienced teacher of 5 years, specializing in the beginner/intermediate painting student. All ages are welcome. With curriculum building experience as a previously certified Art teacher, I have the expertise to cater to any type of ability or age of student. Lessons are customized and catered to the needs/goals of each student. Not only will you be painting like you've been doing it your whole life in no time, but you will be building a strong foundational knowledge of composition, color theory, masters techniques, optimal materials, and much more. Age-Appropriate areas of instruction include:
-Painting Techniques such as Layering, Mixing, Washes, and Glazing.
-Understanding Composition.
-Understanding Color Theory: Opposites or “complementary colors” on the color wheel; Painting with medium tones, so that highlights and shadows can be applied easily. Using multiple colors equals “depth” and “interest.”
-How to Mix Paint: Mixing using the palette knife, brush, on palette, or on painting.

I have been teaching professionally for five years with both small children and adults in many different platforms. My students can expect to develop skills of sketching in paint, rendering objects realistically, color theory, color mixing, texturing and blending, and building contrast. I work with you, where you're at, and develop my lesson plans custom to your individual needs. My students and I always have a blast and make the learning experience fun.

I have taught over 500 students how to paint! Each painting lesson is tailored to your interest and where you want to develop skill. My schooling background is in figure painting, modern painting techniques, color theory and composition. I have been trained by masterful painters from all over the world and look forward to sharing all that I have learned with you.
